Actor Patrick Labyorteaux (Summer School/Heathers/Ski School) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:28:31

The next sequel we are reviewing is "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time” and I got to interview Actor Patrick Labyorteaux.  Patrick and I connected on Twitter when I was talking about his character from a sequel we covered a few months back in "Ghoulies go to College" and he replied! Patrick was a blast to chat with about his origin story, being a child actor, reinventing himself as a jock, Summer School, voiceover work, and more.  Patrick loves acting but also loves Hollywood, which was an absolute blast.  This is a video interview you can watch at sequelsonly.com/labyorteaux  Links mentioned in this episode: Patrick's IMDb https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0479779/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1  Patrick's online acting school https://www.workingactorsschool.com/  Next up is our review "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time", which is free on Amazon Prime.  It's packed with cameos, famous one-liners, and more.  Escape from LA | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:33:44

This week we are talking "Escape from LA" which we wanted to love because the cast is top notch; Russell, Keach, Buscemi, and more, but unfortunately we did not.  There were a lot of similarities between the 1st one and a lot of oddities that Carpenter believed 2013 would look like, so we had our action sequel expert Andrew Powers help us break it down.  We discussed Peter Fonda surfing, basketball to the death, Jose Cuervo Jones, the president's daughter stealing Air Force 3, the odd value of a dollar, and more.  I wish we got the Escape from Cleveland they mentioned A TON of times in this film. This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/EscapefromLA The next sequel that will be discussed next is "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time" and for it, we chatted with Actor Patrick Labyorteaux. Patrick was in a sequel we covered a few months back, "Ghoulies go to College".  Patrick talked about growing up as a child actor being on the hit show Little House on the Prairie, then going on to play the jock in movies like Summer School, Heathers, Ski School, and more.  Then he starred on JAG for years.  Great chat about his career and his online acting school where he can teach you acting over zoom.  Mannequin 2: On the Move | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:49:38

This week, we discuss "Mannequin 2: On the Move", which is honestly one of the best sequels we've covered this year.  This movie has the perfect 80s/90s feel to it and a great cast that has a young Kristy Swanson, William Ragsdale, Stuart Pankin, Meshach Taylor,, and Terry Kiser absolutely CRUSHING IT!  Does this movie have plot holes? Yes, it's like swiss cheese, but it doesn't even matter because it is still hilarious.  We discuss kissing mannequins, sexy vs sporty perfume, broadway shows put on by a department store, the german Three Stooges, and more. This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/Mannequin2 Next up is our review "Escape from LA" where we discuss a movie where basketball can be life or death and that's not a metaphor.  Actor Peter Jason (Arachnophobia/Deadwood/They Live) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:56:20

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Escape From LA” and for it, I interviewed legendary character actor Peter Jason.  Peter said he was a jock in high school and was convinced by a girl to try out for school play and HE GOT IT, from that moment on he did every play he could.  Peter talked about how he worked with John Wayne, John Carpenter, the spiders in Arachnophobia, shooting commercials in New Jersey in the 70s, landing Deadwood, and more.  Peter has a new movie out on VOD 5/31 called "Deep in the Forest" (link to the trailer below) This is a video interview you can watch at sequelsonly.com/peterjason Links mentioned in this episode: "Deep in the Forest" Trailer link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdV7us5FQvg "Deep in the Forest" will be available VOD on 5/31 Peter's IMDb https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0419273/ Next up is our review "Mannequin Two", which is free on Tubi and the following week is "Escape from LA".   Back-to-back reviews coming at ya!  Actor Stuart Pankin (Arachnophobia/Dinosaurs/Mannequin Two) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:59:31

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Mannequin Two” which is happening because I interviewed an actor who I absolutely love in Stuart Pankin.  Stuart started his journey because he loved hamming it up at his family dinners growing up in Philadelphia.  We talked about how he landed his 1st job in Hollywood which involves him singing a parody song with Kevin Kline playing piano, so cool.  Stuart is hilarious on-screen and off because he had me cracking up a lot during this chat.   Stuart has a new movie out on VOD 5/31 called "Deep in the Forest" (link to the trailer below) This is a video interview you can watch at sequelsonly.com/stuartpankin Links mentioned in this episode: "Deep in the Forest" Trailer link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdV7us5FQvg "Deep in the Forest" will be available VOD on 5/31 Stuart's IMDb https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0659573/ Next up is "Mannequin Two" in two weeks, the movie is free on Tubi.   Next week we chat with Stuart's co-star in "Deep in the Forest" and close friend the also amazing Peter Jason.  Peter worked with John Wayne, Spielberg, John Carpenter, Seagal, and so many more.  Peter is a high school football turned actor, because of a girl, which is a story a good amount of guests told me.  Jason X | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:35:49

This week, we discuss "Jason X" aka Jason Goes to Space.  It's Friday the 13th this week, so we are required by sequel law to review one and we picked a doozy. I admittedly never gave this one an honest chance when I rented it at 15 years old, but I had a lot of fun 20 years later.  We discussed the reason this movie is set in the future, possible other plots for future installments, the terrible professor, nano spiders, the epic kills, and more.   This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/JasonX The next two weeks are back-to-back interviews with two AMAZING actors who I grew up on, Stuart Pankin and Peter Jason.  They are both in a new film that premieres VOD on 5/31 called "Deep in the Forest".  See the trailer at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdV7us5FQvg Stuart Pankin is an actor who grew up in Philadelphia and went on to be in all your favorite tv and movies growing up like The Dirt Bike Kid, Mannequin 2 (which we are covering), Arachnophobia, Not Necessarily the News, Knots Landing, the voice of Earl Sinclair on The Dinosaurs, and more.  Stuart was a hoot and loved talking about how his journey to Hollywood began. Peter Jason is an actor who has worked with everyone from John Wayne to Spielberg to Donald Pleasance to James Garner and he loves talking about the old Hollywood.  If it wasn't for a girl he had a crush on senior year, he would have never tried out for the school play and it was instant love.  Peter's credits include They Live, Gunsmoke, Deadwood, Arachnophobia, Escape from LA(which we are covering), Baskets, and more.   Peter and Stuart became dear friends on the set of Arachnophobia and have been buddies ever since.  Script Supervisor Daniela Saioni (Shazam/Jason X/Boondock Saints/Suicide Squad) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:21

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Jason X” and that has given me the chance to interview Script Supervisor Daniela Saioni, who is the 1st script supervisor I have ever chatted with.  Daniela is from Toronto and had an interesting journey to becoming an internationally known script supervisor which was inspired by Jim Morrison, started with a job in editing, Boondock Saints, and so much more.  I loved picking her brain about what a script supervisor does and IT IS A LOT.  Great chat. This is a video interview you can watch at sequelsonly.com/danielasaioni Links mentioned in this episode: Daniela's International Script Supervisor Online Class "Director Whisperer"  https://comedywriting.samcart.com/referral/bfDlx1d3/tECIOgO2RUaDlSSO Daniela's IMDb https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0756797/ Daniela's Youtube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_ad8eRqGWYreiPCfxqslZA Next up is "Jason X".   This should be a fun one to discuss because it's Friday the 13th and NOTHING beats a Jason Voorhees flick.  The Predator 2018 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:19

This week we are discussing "The Predator" from 2018 which gave us a lot to discuss. This movie had so many plots that we had to bring back our horror sequel expert Chris Egan for an eighth time to break it all down.  We discussed the tropey bullies who say "juicy ass burger", the many different Predators, the use of medical disorders for low brow humor, Jacob Trembley outkilling The Predator, and more. This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/ThePredator The next sequel that will be discussed next is a Friday the 13th, but we don't know which one yet.  We are working diligently to find someone to interview from the franchise.  If you know someone, then email us doug@sequelsonly.com Follow us on all social media @sequelsonly and our website is sequelsonly.com Review, rate, and share us with your friends, enemies, neighbors, exes, and even that annoying supermarket clerk!

 Actor and Voice Actor Garry Chalk(Freddy vs Jason/The Fly II/Transformers) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:23:27

The next sequel we are reviewing is "The Predator” and I am interviewing an actor who I have in so much over the years in Garry Chalk like "The Fly II", "Freddy vs Jason", "Stargate SG-1", and more.  Plus, Garry's voice credits include so many of my childhood favorites like "Camp Candy", "GI Joe", "Transformers", "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog", and more.  I loved that Garry only pursued a career in acting because of a stock market crash and that made him leave finance.  I loved hearing about how "The Fly II" and the role of "Scorby" was a turning point in his career.  Garry also talked about how voice acting started, Freddy vs Jason, Charles Bronson, taking care of his fans, and more.  Great chat. This is a video interview you can watch at sequelsonly.com/garrychalk Links mentioned in this episode: Garry's Facebook Fan Page https://www.facebook.com/garrychalktalk/ Garry's IMDb https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0149942/ Next up is "The Predator".   This should be a fun one to discuss because we haven't seen it.  Major League Back to the Minors | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:41:48

Playball!  Baseball is back and to celebrate, we are discussing "Major League Back to the Minors".  This movie turns the reigns of the franchise over to Scott Bakula, who is aging minor league pitcher Gus Cantrell.  This sequel had a lot for us to discuss like the switch from the Indians to the Twins, Ted McGinley's insane portrayal of "Huff", the confusion that a AAA team is signing aging veterans off the street (and from his mini-golf course), why tennis comedies wouldn't work, the lack of players with names, and more. Scott Bakula and Ted McGinley have such a rivalry in this movie kinda like Jamie and me while discussing this one. This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/MajorLeague3 The next sequel that will be discussed next is "The Predator".  For this sequel, I interviewed actor and voice actor Garry Chalk.  Garry is someone who I KNOW you have heard over the years or have seen because he has over 400 credits.  Garry's acting career took off after his role of "Scorby" in "The Fly II" and from there he went on to be in Freddy vs Jason, Superbabies: Baby Geniuses II, The Sea Wolf w/ Charles Bronson, and lots more.  Plus he's lent his voice to The New Adventures of He-Man, Reboot, Sonic the Hedgehog, Megaman, and a ton more.  Great chat about his career and so many great memories that he shared with me.  Cinematographer Charles Papert (Key & Peele/Scrubs/Major League: Back to the Minors) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:09

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Major League: Back to the Minors” in honor of baseball season starting. I had the pleasure of interviewing Cinematographer Charles Papert who worked as a Steadicam operator on "Major League: Back to the Minors" and it was his 1st big studio movie.  Once Charles had his mind on a career in film, he was determined and you will hear a story that shows that.  Charles was a Steadicam operator on "American History X", "Office Space", and more.  Then he went on to be the Cinematographer on "Scrubs", "Key & Peele", "Kenan", and lots more.  Great chat that includes my dad's favorite song Foreigner's "Urgent".  Check behind the scene photos from Charles at sequelsonly.com/charlespapert Links mentioned in this episode: Charlespapert.com Charle's Zee Gee Grip  https://thezeegee.com/ Next up is "Major League: Back to the Minors".   Nothing beats a baseball comedy and this movie has a great cast with a young Walton Goggins.  Aliens | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:59:10

This week we are discussing one of the greatest sequels of all time "Aliens".  This movie has quite the cast and the SFX still holds up 36 years later.  We discuss if Ripley is a villain, Doug's possible dislike of cats, the odd 57-year-old grudge, aliens using an elevator, and so much more.  So happy to have finally covered this legendary sequel. This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/Aliens The next sequel that will be discussed next is "Major League 3: Back to the Minors", just in time for the start of the baseball season. For this sequel, I interviewed Steadicam operator and cinematographer Charles Papert.  Major League 3 was his 1st studio movie and he showed me some amazing behind the scene photos he took from it.  Charles talked about how he left NYU because he was impatient, was on the set of Ghostbusters for a day, American History X, Key & Peele, playing saxophone, and more.  Charles's website is charlespapert.com Follow us on all social media @sequelsonly and our website is sequelsonly.com Review, rate, and share us with your friends, enemies, neighbors, exes, and even that annoying supermarket clerk!

 Actor Ricco Ross (Aliens/Death Wish 3) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:26:23

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Aliens”, which is on our "Mt. Rushmore" of movie sequels and I was lucky enough to interview Actor Ricco Ross about his career.  Ricco played "Private Frost" in the movie and had so many great behind the scene tidbits to tell plus we talked about his role of "The Cuban" in "Death Wish 3".  I loved Ricco's origin story and how a teacher during his freshman year of high school pushed him to do the school play, which led to an amazing career.  Ricco had stories about Ken Wahl, Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, Stanley Kubrick, James Cameron, Whitney Houston, and more.  Awesome chat! This is also a video interview you can watch at sequelsonly.com/riccoross Links mentioned in this episode: Ricco's IMDb https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0743768/ Next up is "Aliens".  Ghoulies Go To College | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:06:39

This week we are discussing "Ghoulies Go To College" in honor of college spring break and wow does this movie deliver on the craziness because this is the 1st installment that has the Ghoulies speaking.  We brought back Nick, who is our creature expert, to help us break this one down.  We discussed the difference between "a Prank, a Yank, and a Crank", the actor who voices the cat Ghoulie, the Billy Zabka-like villain, the creepy security guard, and more.  PANCAKE! This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/ghouliesGTC The next sequel that will be discussed next is  "Aliens ", which is on the Mt. Rushmore of movie sequels.  I was lucky enough to interview Ricco Ross who played Frost.  Ricco and I 1st connected when we were doing the "Death Wish 3" reunion for Charles Bronson's 100th birthday, but he had something come up, but we did it.  Ricco is an actor, who during his first year out of college he booked reoccurring roles on "Hill St. Blues" & "The Young & the Restless". Soon afterward, feeling type-cast, he decided to study Shakespeare for a year in England at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA). That year turned into 13 years of living abroad. There he got "Dirty Dozen 2" and became friends with Ken Wahl (great story about Ken), "Death Wish 3", "Aliens", and actually got "Full Metal Jacket", but that’s a story you gotta hear.  Great chat.
