The Blitz with Fred Faour & Friends

Brad Powers, lead college football analyst for Pregame.com, is the next guest on the show and talks about the football games. The guys talk some UH basketball and college basketball in general. They close the show out with Hoffman on Hollywood.

The second hour starts off with recapping the first hour and talking Rockets. Raphael Esparza, Vegas sports gambling analyst, joins the show to give his thoughts on tonight’s game. The guys do the Zadok Jeweler’s Gem of the Day. Chris Harris, who you can follow on Twitter @HarrisFootball, comes in to talk about fantasy football.

Since Fred is out this week, AJ’s co-host today is Jong. The two quickly go over the Thursday Night Football game and give their predictions. They go over the Rockets and their recent struggles. The guys go over the NFL lines. The guys close out the hour talking about the famous video gamer Ninja.

Jerome and AJ talk more NFL quarterback rankings, rumored Houston Rockets trades, how great the Golden State Warriors are and how they ruined the NBA. The guys talk about a possible College Football Playoff expansion and The Bench host John Granato calls in to argue for Central Florida.

Jerome and AJ talk about the Houston Texans and its chance to win out. The guys talk about quarterbacks in the NFL and who they'd want going forward.

Jerome Solomon of the Houston Chronicle is filling-in for Fred. Jerome and AJ go over the Houston Rockets win against the Portland Trail Blazers, a restroom story Jerome witnessed today and they talk about what the Houston Astros are doing (or not doing) to bolster the team.

In the third and final hour of the show, the guys begin by taking a look at some of the NFL teams that have taken a step back this year and AJ shares a cautionary tale from the internet on the Zadok Jewelers Gem of the Day. As the hour rolls on, they talk about the Texans remaining games, the terrible decision to let Harold Baines in the Baseball Hall of Fame, and some of the worst names in the Basketball Hall of Fame. To close out the show, they love the game.

To start the second hour of the show, the guys continue their discussion of the Rockets awful start and what they believe the team should have done in the offseason. After the opening segment, they talk about why the Rockets don’t belong in the same sentence as the Warriors this season. In the second half of the hour, they are joined by The Bench’s Lance Zierlein to get his take on the loss to the Colts, Deshaun’s confidence, and the state of the offense.

With Jerome Solomon filling in for Fred, he and AJ kick off another week on the Blitz by discussing some of the main culprits at fault for the Texans loss to the Colts. As the hour rolls on, they talk about the struggles the Texans defense has had against elite QBs and debate if Tua should have won the Heisman instead of Kyler Murray. To round out the hour, they discuss the Rockets unbelievable fall from grace.

The gang gets the third hour rolling with a call-in segment from RJ from Pregame.com to talk some NFL lines and newsworthy stories and compelling bets. AJ gives some of his thoughts on the fights coming up this weekend and invites listeners to check out the revamped SportsMap site to see his more in-depth opinions on the subject. To wrap up the show Fred and AJ do their “Stupid Stuff” segment highlighting some of the dumbest sounding things they’ve said all week. 

The start of the second hour the guys discussed the Heisman finalists, and their team's strength of schedule. Also, they talked about the upcoming matchups in the NFL this weekend and what Vegas’ odds were on each individual game. They continued by talking about the highly anticipated Game of Thrones trailer. Fred comes up with an idea for inventions that AJ and Jong tell him already exist. To wrap up the show Fred brings up a story about a lewd serial offender.

Fred and AJ start the first hour talking about his bad start of the day and transitions into the new Avengers movie. The guys get into the Titans vs. Colts Thursday Night matchup. The guys discuss their poker habits and how and when they prefer to play live or online. Fred brings up his weeklong vacation coming up next week as the guys pivot into some sports news. The guys wrap up the hour by looking at Heisman contenders and the upcoming Cowboys vs Eagles game.
