145 - We have been wanting to do this one for a while - the only thing holding us back, was that there is no more Gremlins after this... for now at least. It's the sequel that dials the absurdity up to 11 and gets more Meta than Zuckerberg - but does it hold up today, or is it best left in the past? Tune in and find out!

142 - After a brief detour due to Halloween, we return to our regularly scheduled programming, with 1997's DOUBLE TEAM. It's the film the world was asking for, "When will JCVD be able to team up with 2x Defensive Player of the Year, Dennis Rodman?", The world exclaimed, "WHEN!?". The answer was "now", or at least it was then. Ironically, the answer now, is "then", or more specifically, 1997. If you have read this far, thanks, but why? Press play.

141 - HAPPY HALLOWEEN (week). This week we are diving into Halloween 2 - and by that we of course mean the first Halloween 2. Not Halloween 2 from 2009 or Halloween (2) from 2018. We are talking about the first of the three 2's. Halloween 2-1. There aren't many franchises where we get to say that, and a lot of this episode is about digging into exactly why that is, and navigating the hot mess that is the Halloween cannon - a hot mess that is largely a consequence of what happens in this film, Halloween 2 (the first one). Is that clear?

140 - So... usually every 10th episode is a JCVD joint, but it's spooky season so we've had to pivot. JCVD will be back soon! Instead, this week it's a slasher with a massive legacy - Friday the 13th - but is it any goooooood? We dive deep on this one. Tristan watched almost every movie in the franchise, so we end up talking about the series as a whole, it's legacy, and the inevitable comparison to John Carpenter's Halloween.

139 - Welcome to week TWO of our Spooky-Time Spectacular miniseries, with the iconic Addams Family. This thing has been in a constantly evolving in pop culture since it first appeared in The New Yorker back in 1938 - and this iteration is no different! 137 - Ok first things first, Greg had mic issues for the first 10 mins of this episode - so hang in there, there audio quality gets much better 10 mins in! Second, we have a VERY special guest this week - nostalgic film instagram lord, and Howard the Duck mega-fan, Dan Jones, who you likely know as the man behind @movieverse on instagram. Howard the Duck is the kind of movie you either love or hate. Or is it? Join us as we descend into a philosophical chat around finding value, and perhaps even greatness, in what are objectively not 'great' films.

136 - It's the final episode of our "Popping Tristan's Cherry" miniseries, and what better way to cap it off than a trip down old South Beach way, to check out the Birdcage? This movie was wasted on our foolish adolescent minds when it came out in the 90s, but has become a favourite in Greg's household since. Tristan on the other hand... Well he hasn't seen it obviously. Hey this thing was also based on a French play! More juicy origin story nuggets and a mixed bag of film criticism inside this weeks bloody terrific episode.

135 - Big movie week, guys. Danny Boyle, Ewan McGregor, Scotland, EMOTIONAL TRAUMA - it's Trainspotting! This is a pretty big one for a lot of us who reach teens by the mid-90s. Not Tristan though, he had never seen it before. Shame on Tristan. As you'd expect we go deeeeeep, and when it's a movie like this, it can get a little dark - so don't worry, we even it out with talk of Crochet and Steve Irwin. Stay safe team!

134 - Ok, this is 1992's Gladiator. With Cuba Gooding Jr, not Russell Crowe. Now that that's out the way - This is the first episode in the 'Popping Tristan's Cherry' miniseries where we are diving into movies Tristan had never seen before this week. If you are one of the many, many, many people that never saw this film, it's currently streaming on Netflix. If you are one of the existing fans of this movie, you have come to the right place!

133 - We are on a mission from God - and we have iconic Aussie comedian Dan Ilic with us! Dan joins us to help break down this much-requested movie featuring the musical magic of a Memphis rhythm section with New York horns section, The Blues Brothers.

132 - This. Movie. Is. Iconic. But we hadn't watched it in about 20 years, so the pressure was on! To add even more pressure, we've also got one of the stars from this very movie to help us break it all down - actor, magician, and TikTok extraordinaire, Adam Wylie. Adam of course gives us allllll the inside knowledge and behind the scenes scoops which make this episode, one that simply cannot be missed!
