As promised, before jumping into their recap of Season 2, Emma and Julie did a palate cleanser episode. This week, they looked back at a June 2016 interview that Khloé did with Harper's Bazaar, and of course, analyzed every aspect of it. The feature touched on everything from the family’s former relationship with stylist Monica Rose, Khloe’s relationship with her body, men, and fame. Emma and Julie highlighted the passages of the interview that they found were the most interesting and inserted background information and discussions along the way. This also seemed fitting, as Khloé discussed her initial hesitation in doing Keeping Up with the Kardashians, her approach to Season 1, and the reasons she now enjoys it. On Monday, all hell broke loose in the world of teenage TikTok. For anyone even remotely confused, Emma & Julie give a full play by play of all the events that transpired. Then, they bring on fellow TikTok enthusiast and co-host of Barstool's Chicks In The Office, Ria Ciuffo, to dive in even deeper.  When rumors broke that Chase Hudson, ex-boyfriend of Charli D’Amelio, and Nessa Barrett, ex-girlfriend of Josh Richards, hooked up, a tweetstorm ensued. After many hype and sway house members got on board to condemn Chase’s actions, he came out swinging. In a now-deleted tweet, he outlined all of the other alleged infidelities among the TikTok crew. Guys, we made it. Emma & Julie concluded their trip down memory lane of season 1 with a finale recap that did not disappoint. This episode begins with Kim’s true introduction to the world of fame, when rumors (both true and false) about her dating life start to swirl. She later goes on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to address them all: Terrence Howard, Joe Francis, Pete Wentz and, of course, Reggie Bush. The episode takes a turn when naked pictures of Kourtney and her high school boyfriend resurface, and Kim is overcome with guilt, as she was the last one to have them. They initially contact Kim’s ex-husband, since his house was the last place they were at. After receiving valuable information as to their potential whereabouts, they bring in the big guns. And thus, the now famous ‘this is a case for the FBI’ gif is born. After working with the FBI and personal attorneys, the pictures are recovered, and the person soliciting them was found. The episode ends on a sweet note, with Kim assuring Kylie and Kendall, 10 and 11-years-old at the time, that she would always be there to both protect them and educate them when the time comes that they have an interest to date. Emma and Julie are back to recap another episode of Season 1 KUWTK. Nothing can compare to the sheer brilliance that was last week’s episode, where Kourtney and Scott celebrated Kourt’s negative pregnancy results in Vegas (and almost ended the weekend with a wedding,) but this was a close second. Guys, this was a GOOD ONE. Emma and Julie continue their recaps of KUWTK Season 1, with this whirlwind of an episode. Leaving Kendall, Kylie, and Caitlyn at home, the rest of the family heads to Vegas...and things. got. ROWDY. Everyone is wasted, Scott semi-proposes to Kourtney, and they make it all the way to the infamous Little White Chapel before realizing that it was a bad idea. Before they began the season 1 Episode 5 recap, Emma & Julie reflected on the past few weeks and discussed how the conversation and work need to continue - not just for them, but for all of us. They also highlighted some concrete changes that have resulted from all of the pressure being put on our officials. Clearly, there is so much work to do. But this momentum cannot slow down. In light of the tragic murder of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man killed by four Minneapolis police officers, Emma and Julie wanted to devote this week’s episode to a very important discussion. They first spoke about the murder, and how it cannot be seen as an isolated incident, but rather a statement as to the prevalence of racial injustice and police brutality - disproportionately against black people - in our country. They then brought on Sierra Pannell, a 23-year-old young black woman, to engage in an impactful conversation. While they recognize it is not the job of black people to educate anyone, Emma and Julie firmly believe in the concept of giving space to those voices that aren’t always heard. As you’ll hear in the episode, they got to know Sierra back in February, and it was an honor to be able to share their platform with her. Emma and Julie then engaged in a conversation on white privilege, their experience in educating themselves on it, and how they can continue to learn more.
