CJ Evolution / October 26th / Episode 245 - Top Cop turned Fugitive for over Two Decades - Author Robert Leon Smith | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:34

Hello everyone and welcome back. Thank you all for tuning in and supporting the podcast. Please rate and review the show when you have a moment by going to iTunes. Special thanks to all the brave men and women who work in the criminal justice field. You have much support. Keep up the great work. In this episode Patrick welcomes Robert Leon Davis. He was once a respected police officer in New Orleans, serving for years until 1979. Then he was arrested. He began with aspirations to be a great cop, but he was quickly exposed to a darker side of law enforcement. While partnered with a veteran officer, he witnesses this officer violating the very laws he had vowed to uphold and shared in his crimes. One compromise led to another. Soon Robert faced arrest, so he ran. From studying criminal law at Loyola University and becoming an award-winning Officer, he now became a fugitive and skilled survivalist, living off the land in remote forests in America and Canada, where he hid for over 20 years. He grew up tough, and hard. His grandmother had made sure he learned about God, but in anger he rejected his church upbringing. Through a stranger's prayer the hostile atheist finally realized he was tired of running and turned himself in. When the District Attorney finally dusted off his file, what would his sentence be? Robert went on to write a best selling book called Running Scared. An amazing story of survival, faith and a new path. You can find Robert here: http://www1.cbn.com/video/robert-leon-davis-running-scared Find Robert's book here: https://www.amazon.com/Running-Scared-Fugitive-Corrupt-Busted/dp/1854249932 https://www.linkedin.com/in/robert-leon-davis-63a98367/   Do you love coffee?  CJ Evolution / September 24th / Episode 237 - Victor Avila, former ICE Agent talks about the ambush on a highway in Mexico that left him critically injured and his partner dead. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:33

Hello everyone and welcome back to the show. Special thanks to all the brave men and women who work in the criminal justice field. Here at the CJEvolution Podcast we appreciate what you do and keep up the great work. In this episode, Patrick welcomes Victor Avila. Victor is a survivor. Soft-spoken but iron-willed, he dedicated his life to law enforcement and to his country. Yet, the feds have been fighting very hard to bury the full truth about the 2011 ambush by Los Zetas Drug Cartel thughs in Mexico that left him gravely wounded and his partner, special agent, Jaime Zapata, dead. After Victor started to heal from this incident, he also started to dig into the operation that he and his partner should have never been told to do in the first place. The more information that Victor started to uncover the more some beltway bureaucrats started to obstruct the Avlia's and Zapata's search for answers. What the Obama administration hid as evidence mounted that that the semi-automatic weapons and handguns used in the ambush came from one of its botched gun-walking operations that echoed the infamous and deadly Operation Fast and Furious Scheme. A very powerful story about heroism, survival instincts from two dedicated law enforcement professionals, and deception from the highest levels of the US Government. This episode will keep you on the edge of your seat.
