Enough is enough for Loris Karius - and will we ever see Pulisic at Liverpool? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:25:18

In the first of our special US tour podcasts, Joe Rimmer and Kristian Walsh are joined by James Pearce - LIVE from Charlotte, North Carolina - to dissect Liverpool's 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund. Our boys battle dodgy Wifi connections, the US weather and sleep deprivation to bring the very latest talk across the pond. The future of Loris Karius is once again a hot topic after his latest mistake, with questions raised on just how the Reds solve that particular problem. On a lighter note, Daniel Sturridge and Naby Keita are hailed, while James asks the question many Liverpool fans want answered: Will Christian Pulisic be at Anfield one day? The striking options still leave a lot to be desired, but Virgil van Dijk and the Academy stars are making a real impression. It's a must listen, as always.  The change in FSG and the one position Liverpool still need to strengthen | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:33

The signing of Alisson for a world record fee for a goalkeeper dominates the latest episode of the brilliant Allez Les Rouges podcast. Host Peter Hooton and his guests, Steph Jones, Ste Monaghan and John Nicolson, are all delighted that the Brazilian has been brought in. But, as well as discussing what kind of keeper the Reds are getting, they look at the wider context of Alisson’s arrival, and ask what it says about Jurgen Klopp, FSG’s policy, and the balance of power in the Premier League. Not that they are completely satisfied, though. Yes, as well as being pleased by the arrivals of Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri, who they reckon could bring the bit of nark the Reds have been missing, Peter and Co still want Klopp to make at least one more signing in one area in particular. If that happens, though, that may lead to the departure of a player who has returned to pre-season looking as sharp as he has in years. But, the question they ask is, can Klopp trust him? The World Cup also gets a mention – as well as THOSE Dejan Lovren comments. It’s another great listen. Enjoy. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Danny Ward deserves his chance - but Liverpool might still need to sign another goalkeeper | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:38:44

It's time for another episode of the Blood Red podcast. And this week, Joe Rimmer is joined by Paul Gorst, Dan Kay and Liverpool FC reporter (both home and away) James Pearce to talk Xherdan Shaqiri, Bury and you guessed it, goalkeepers. Danny Ward is to be given his chance as Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper and James is pleased to see the Welshman rewarded for his patience, but he still believes that Jurgen Klopp might need to dip into the transfer market. There's plenty of discussion about Shaqiri and whether the Swiss winger is the right fit for the Reds. Then we discuss Liverpool's trip to Bury and the return of centre-backs Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk. And no discussion about defenders is complete without mention of The World's Greatest Defender Dejan Lovren, who Paul Gorst reckons could be in the running for the Ballon d'Or after his performances for club and country this year. It might sound crazy - but there's method to Paul's madness. It all adds up to another must-listen Blood Red podcast. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

What next for Liverpool and Loris Karius – and making sense of the transfer rumours | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:46:28

Neil Fitzmaurice is back with his latest Poetry in Motion podcast alongside the ECHO’s Joe Rimmer and Paul Wheelock – and the trio have a lot to talk about. England’s World Cup exit, Dejan Lovren’s eye-catching comments, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Daniel Sturridge are all up for debate. But the two biggest areas of discussion concern Liverpool’s under-pressure goalkeeper and their business in the transfer market. The spotlight is very much back on Loris Karius after his blunder in the friendly at Tranmere Rovers – and Fitzy, Joe and Paul discuss what Jurgen Klopp must do next. Should the Reds boss keep faith with Karius? Or should he give Danny Ward or Simon Mignolet a go? Or should Klopp pay the money Roma want for Allison? The lads also make sense of the latest rumours including the impending arrival of Xherdan Shaqiri and whether he will be joined at Anfield by Domagoj Vida and – yes him – Nabil Fekir. And another brilliant podcast ends with Fitzy revealing the ECHO’s exciting plans for a live Blood Red podcast event. Enjoy. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

There's also plenty of discussion about Ben Woodburn and Harry Wilson, Loris Karius' response to his Champions League final horror show and what Liverpool have to do next in the transfer market. Then there's an interesting discussion about England and whether Liverpool fans are starting to get behind the national team. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Sean Cox tribute, super-sub Firmino and the goalkeeper Liverpool should not sign | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:54:02

It was one of the most symbolic images of Liverpool’s thrilling run to the Champions League final – captain Jordan Henderson and the rest of the squad holding the banner dedicated to Sean Cox after the semi-final second leg in Rome. And in our latest Allez Les Rouges podcast, host Peter Hooton, regular guest Ste Monaghan and debutant Peter Carney tell the story behind the banner, how it got onto the pitch at the Stadio Olimpico, and how it was eventually taken to Sean’s family back in Dublin. Talk then turns to the superb new Hotel Tia with its owner, and another Allez Les Rouges debutant, Jostein Ansnes, whose passion for Liverpool has taken him from Norway to opening a business in the shadow of Anfield. There’s also plenty of debate on what is a wonderful World Cup including that man Henderson again, Dejan Lovren and why Roberto Firmino is becoming the new David Fairclough (for his country). There are also words of praise for Harry Maguire, Raheem Sterling and the goalkeeper from across the park, Jordan Pickford. That leads to a discussion over the future of Liverpool’s own No 1, Loris Karius. Peter and Co wonder if the German will get a chance to atone for his errors in the Champions League final. But, if that’s not the case, they are not keen on one keeper linked with the Reds on the back of his World Cup showings. It’s another great listen. Enjoy.  Scouse footballer and Liverpool fan speaks out on his battle with depression | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:34:49

Kevin Ellison’s decision to speak out about his eight-year battle with depression.... ... it’s a battle the boyhood Liverpool fan kept quiet from his family – and one that led him to leading a ‘double life’ and one that ultimately led to the breakdown of his relationship with the mother of his two children. After seeking help, Kevin has been in a better place for some time now. But it was only after seeing a number of fellow footballers do the same, like former Reds goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, and most recently, Crawley Town defender Mark Connolly, that he took the brave decision to open up publicly about the issues he’s faced. It’s a decision that is helping him personally and, as he candidly explains in this podcast, it’s a decision that is leading other players, along with fans, to get in touch with him to ask for his advice. We also speak about Kevin’s enduring passion for the game, which will see him play until he is 40 at least, and what it was like growing up on Breck Road and standing on the Kop, watching his Liverpool heroes, one of whom he went on to play for.
