With so many people resistant to change can we truly be surprised when we don't attain our lofty goals? You have to be willing to get uncomfortable. You truly do. Not in the big moments, that will come, but in the small moments when you're not sure you can. Tackle those and you'll train yourself to better in the big moments.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

 The Change-makers | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:11:49

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

We are what we repeatedly do | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:07:11

Aristotle was quoted as saying we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit. If this is true, and I do believe it is, but if it’s as simple as building better habits and doing better things (taking better actions) then why aren’t we all doing that? Why are you seen as an anomaly when you want to believe in yourself and better yourself? Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to be the anomaly but gee I wish I wasn’t. I wish more people would jump on this journey on controlling themselves and their lives. Realising they actually do have control of a lot more than they believe. But if they choose not to believe this then at least stay out of the way of the people that are doing their best.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Children See Magic Because They Look for it | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:09:25

Children see magic because they look for it. I truly believe you can tell a lot about us as a people and as a society by the way in which we treat those less fortunate, children, the elderly, the unwell. I am hyper-focused on helping our next generation at the moment because life for them is so much more difficult and confusing than it was when I was a child. I look back and remember a much simpler time. Less distractions. Less drama. Today our kids needs us to be there but what’s even more important is that we do our best for all children not just our own.  Learn to Love the Process | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:06:32

If something matters then everything matters. In other words if something is important to you, a goal, an outcome, a job, a lifestyle, a relationship then everything related to it is important. Everything you do towards that matters. Every Small Step. Every Obstacle. Every Challenge. Every Lesson. Every Action. Every Piece of Learning/Education. Every single piece matters. None is more or less important than another. Don't look to shortcut parts. Don't wish the road was easier or stress free. Accept that every part of this journey is important to the outcome you seek. You're building brick by brick so when the outcome arrives it's built on something solid. How you do anything is how you do everything. Maintain Your Standards. Maintain Your Goals. Maintain Your Values. Maintain Your Vision. and every action you take towards them. Respect the Process. Learn to Love the Process.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Habit Loop - How to replace your unproductive habits | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:10:11

I love the Habit Loop concept because once you understand it, it takes changing habits to a whole new level. You realise you're in total control of your habits and therefore your life. Simple. Not always easy but definitely simple if you're willing to do the work.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Being a Parent is Tough but it's also Important | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:10:02

In life there are very few things that will outrival the privilege that leading and guiding others affords us. This isn’t solely true in our professional lives, it’s most important in our private lives. As a parent I am afforded an amazing privilege to guide my children through life and as any parent would know it’s a task that constantly leaves us feeling less than. We feel like we’re not achieving or not doing enough. In life this can lead us down a slippery path where we tend to do everything for our kids. We constantly seek to make them happy because their happiness is equated to our success. The problem here is we create a situation where our children don’t have resilience and they have no tools in their tool box when it comes to needing to dig deep and problem solve. We might make ourselves feel better but ultimately we’re setting our children up for failure later in life and that’s very unfair. So something needs to change and that something is US.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

We all want to change the world ..... | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:11:01

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” – Leo Tolstoy With 2020 starting as a year of drama, trauma and tragedy I watch closely to the reactions of people through social media, the lens we all see most often with the worlds views on things. There’s rage, anger, uproar, people are offended and with this outrage comes thousands upon thousands of opinions on how the world can be a better place and what the government and politicians need to do. In fact what a everyone else needs to do. But I wonder how many are making any adjustments or changes themselves? How many are truly trying to make themselves better? Literally the only person or thing they have complete control over. How many have the opinions on what will fix the world but can’t look in the mirror or sit for 20 minutes once a week and journal to look at what went well, what didn’t go well and what improvements they can make in their own life? It’s kind of ironic isn’t it? Maybe it’s time we cleaned up our own back yard before sharing our outrage for how everyone else needs to be better? Maybe it’s time to discipline ourselves to do the deep work that needs to be done in order to leave the most positive imprint we can on the world? Just a thought. QUESTIONS: •       When do you feel most alive? •       When has adversity caused you to break and when has it caused you to break through to a higher level?  •       When you’re performing at your best what’s it like? •       When you’re performing at your worst what’s it like? •       What has made you successful to this stage of your life? •       What are your current habits to train your mindset? •       What books are you currently reading or listening to? •       Do you meditate, do yoga or any kind of mindfulness or stillness training?  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Children Account for 1/3 of our Population | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:08:14

Children account for one third of our population but all of our future. Last week I went out and spoke to 250 Year 11 boys and then backed that up with another talk to 200 Year 12 boys at a school in Brisbane called Churchie. It was one of my favourite talks in recent memory because these boys were genuinely interested. They were open and receptive but not only that, the staff were equally into what we discussed. I felt honoured to stand before these young men because they’re a part of the future of Australia. As a community I feel we need to take much more responsibility for our future which means equipping our younger generations with the tools to succeed and in fact exceed what we have done in our tenure on this world. Don’t just think of our own children but all children.   See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Surround Yourself with Lions | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:06:35

Everybody wants to eat but few are willing to hunt. Surround yourself with those on the same mission as you. These are two quotes I saw with the back drop being pictures of Lions. Why do so many great motivational picture quotes these days feature lions? Lion Quotes are popular because the Lion is a symbol of personal strength, and courage and leadership. Those who are competitive, and strive for the highest level of success in sport and life relate to the lion, as it is the dominant animal of the jungle.  I look at the people in my team and realise I am surround by lions and lionesses. Let me tell you about that epiphany and further explore why your environment matters.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Well Said or Well Done? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:07:10

To assess the quality of thoughts of people, don't listen to their words, but watch their actions. - Amit Kalantri Well said is better than well done. That's the standard I witness a lot So often people talk to me about the standards they’re setting. The non-negotiable in their life. The hashtag #noexcuses. But when it’s time for the rubber to hit the road is excuse after excuse about how hard their life is. How they didn’t get enough sleep. They haven’t felt 100%. Someone in their life is unwell. They haven’t been in a good headspace. They may sound like good ‘reasons’ (insert excuses here). But all they truly are, are the reasons you are where you rather than where you say you want to be. They’re an insight into why nothing has changed for you (or ‘them’ not you, the ‘other people’ this happens to

 It's a Love Hate Thing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:07:32

People will love you, people will hate you, and none of it will have anything to do with you. — Abraham Hicks It’s human nature to want to be liked and accepted by others. Whether we like it or not we’re a herd animal and not being accepted by the herd, through past generations, literally meant your life and safety was on the line. It meant survival. But today things are different. If people don’t like you, don’t accept you, it’s not going to put your safety at risk. Your survival isn’t on the line. Knowing this, it makes sense to not focus on being accepted by all the people all the time (which is impossible by the way), but rather to be accepted by the right people for you, where you’re at, in this particular space and time in your life.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
