EPISODE 332: Blood Origins with Robbie Kroger | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 01:08:14

On this episode of Gritty Bowmen, I sit down with “Blood Origins” founder Robbie Kroger. Robbie is kind of a big deal in the conservation world, but not as widely known in the hunting world.  Robbie grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, one of the largest urban areas in the world. He did not hunt. Guns were banned. Hunting was just a bunch of stories and antlers on the wall.  But, he had a hunting past that he could not deny. From that heritage grew an idea —Blood Origins, a way to connect the past with the present.    “When I look at the liberties afforded to you in the United States of America, I consider it incomprehensible. I am going to go out on a limb and say that this liberty is likely lost on most of you, that it is very often taken for granted. I say that only from a perspective of someone who came from a place where there was no opportunity to connect with something that pulsed within me.” —Robbie Kroger

Arizona is the convergence of all four North American Deserts which makes for the highest amount of biological diversity in North America. We discuss my Coatimundi attack, Sandhill Cranes (and how it’s my new favorite meat), Giant Jack Rabbits, Javelina, Quail, Waterfowl, and more. We talk about hunting seasons, the cost and how you really should be bringing your kids to Arizona to hunt.
