I had the pleasure of interviewing Taun Jameson from Colorado. Taun is a master cannabis grower with over two decades of experience with both marijuana and hemp. He holds a master of marijuana certificate from the Cannabis Training University in Denver, Colorado. Taun is very experienced in using the suppository delivery method for the therapeutic ingestion of cannabis. For anyone who doesn't know, a suppository is a solid dosage form that is inserted into the rectum (rectal suppository), vagina (vaginal suppository) or urethra (urethral suppository), where it dissolves or melts and exerts local or systemic effects. You can read more general information about suppositories here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suppository In the cannabis world, suppositories are most often used in the rectum. The main benefit of using suppositories is the capability to absorb very large concentrations of cannabinoids like THC and CBD without psychoactive effects. The absence of psychoactive effects is a huge advantage to many people who want to experience the benefits of cannabinoids without the high. This is especially true when a person's condition requires a very large dose of cannabinoids, i.e. 500 mg+. While cannabis suppositories are not yet widely used in the United States, they are increasing in popularity and are more well known in Europe.  Colorado Baby's Death First Ever Fatal Marijuana Overdose? - Podcast #8 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:23:32

You can support our channel buy purchasing CBD oil here: BlueBird Botanicals: http://bit.ly/2v3j4Sa NuLeaf Naturals: http://bit.ly/2utFxuf BlueBird Botanicals gives you 20% OFF your first retail order - use coupon code FIRSTTIME at checkout NuLeaf Discount - Use code NEW10 for 10% off your first order! A recently released report by two physicians has created a stir in the cannabis community after headlines touted the report to describe “the first ever cannabis death”. Keep in mind a death from cannabis has never been documented in human history. I made this video to clarify some of the confusion and main points from the report. I also offer a general discussion on the safety of using cannabis and some precautions you should be aware of. An 11-old-boy died from myocarditis - inflammation of the middle layer of the heart wall. Doctors found the presence of THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, in his system. Doctors could find no other reason for the cause of the myocarditis. It was confirmed that the boy had an an unstable living situation and the parents admitted to possessing drugs, including cannabis. Cannabis use has been linked to cases of myocarditis in the past, but never a fatal case. The report was interpreted by media outlets as the doctors to be making the claim that cannabis was the cause for the myocarditis and death. This was later debunked by both doctors. In separate statements, the doctors explained that they are not conclusive that the death was directly caused by cannabis. Rather they wanted everyone to be aware of the fact that they could find no other cause for the myocarditis. The doctors rightfully made it clear that further investigation is needed to see if cannabis was actually the cause of the death. Moreover the doctors wanted to bring awareness to the caution needed when cannabis is being used around minors or stored in a home where children are present. While cannabis is very safe compared to some of the most used drugs in the world (alcohol and tobacco), safety precautions are still necessary. In this video I go over some of the important details you need to consider before using cannabis: - Cannabis use (THC) can increase heart rate - Cannabis overdoses (although not fatal) are still possible if a person takes too high of a dose - Cannabis is not for everyone - people with preexisting conditions, especially psychiatric conditions should be very careful before using cannabis or just avoid it completely - Extra precautions must be taken before children, animals, and the elderly are exposed to cannabis - CBD Oil has far less negative side effects than THC, but precaution must still be taken as side effects and interactions can happen - Talk to your doctor before you start using cannabis or any other new supplement Make sure to visit CBD School: https://cbdschool.com/ References Pediatric Death Due to Myocarditis After Exposure to Cannabis: https://escholarship.org/uc/item/1n10w5pc The truth behind the ‘first marijuana overdose death’ headlines: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2017/11/17/the-truth-behind-the-first-marijuana-overdose-death/?utm_term=.3ce5cd09c660 CAN YOU OVERDOSE ON MARIJUANA? Go to CBD School to learn more about CBD: http://www.cbdschool.com/ The use of CBD for anxiety has been studied for over two decades now. And this application of CBD for anxiety extends to the use of CBD for PTSD. PTSD is a pathological anxiety condition caused by experiencing a past traumatic event. Common events that can cause PTSD include war, violence, and sexual abuse. Though there are countless reasons why someone might experience PTSD. CBD and other cannabinoids like THC in medical marijuana have shown to be effective at reducing symptoms of people suffering from PTSD. CBD products may be able to be used as alternatives for people with PTSD who were unsuccessful with traditional Rx medications like antidepressants. While the evidence for the effectiveness of CBD for anxiety and CBD for PTSD is promising, it’s important to be conscious of the fact that cannabis products may not be right for everyone and their situation. Future data from people, doctors, and researchers will help us to better understand the application of CBD for PTSD.
