I had the pleasure of interviewing Taun Jameson from Colorado. Taun is a master cannabis grower with over two decades of experience with both marijuana and hemp. He holds a master of marijuana certificate from the Cannabis Training University in Denver, Colorado. Taun is very experienced in using the suppository delivery method for the therapeutic ingestion of cannabis. For anyone who doesn't know, a suppository is a solid dosage form that is inserted into the rectum (rectal suppository), vagina (vaginal suppository) or urethra (urethral suppository), where it dissolves or melts and exerts local or systemic effects. You can read more general information about suppositories here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suppository In the cannabis world, suppositories are most often used in the rectum. The main benefit of using suppositories is the capability to absorb very large concentrations of cannabinoids like THC and CBD without psychoactive effects. The absence of psychoactive effects is a huge advantage to many people who want to experience the benefits of cannabinoids without the high. This is especially true when a person's condition requires a very large dose of cannabinoids, i.e. 500 mg+. While cannabis suppositories are not yet widely used in the United States, they are increasing in popularity and are more well known in Europe.
