Most little kids will share food or a toy. We naturally want to be generous and help people. It's not until later in life that we learn not to be.
I recently made a post on Facebook that seemed threatening to one person. She called me out on it. I thanked her for her comments. I could see where she might perceive what I said negatively. Lesson learned: Give the other person the benefit of the doubt. Don't just react and defend.
Luck is like a bus. If you mis it, there will always be another one, but you need to be prepared to get on board. If you look at most success stories, it comes down to being prepared when luck happened. Success is not just luck. It's not just preparation. It's a combination of the two. When you prepare for the moment, the moment is prepared for you.
When I first started, I was looking for my big break. But the big break is truly made up of the small steps. Facebook just reminded me that eight years ago, I released my book. And as I look back on those years, I see that there's never been a big break that changed my career. It's faithful, disciplined, unremarkable persistence that has made the difference. Small steps absolutely matter. The small things add up to the big break in the long run.
You can have the best tools in the world, but if you don't use them, they don't help you. You probably have trainings, apps, software, relational tools, coaching groups and more at your disposal. Next time you get stuck, ask yourself what tools you have that can help you. Asking for help validates your power. It doesn't take it away. Use the tools available to you.
I have a life insurance medical exam coming up, so I have focused on losing a few pounds. I'm focused on a goal. When we have a goal and we know our results will be tracked and measured, we will focus and feel the pressure to perform. Accountability makes a difference.
You can't be anything you want, but you can be everything you are. If we want to achieve our true potential, we need to stop trying to be like everyone else. The sooner we play our own game, the sooner we will find true peace, joy and fulfillment.
Hear from Teresa Alesch, a cancer survivor, now successful author of the book Broken To Brave, written as therapy after three years of tragedy and trauma.
I just received two amazing books. It reminds me how years ago I was absolutely scared to say yes to my dream. We often sit on the edge of our dreams and ask what the cost is of saying yes to our dreams (salary, health, insurance, title, etc.) But what is the cost of saying no to your dream. By you saying no to your dream, you are keeping others from saying yes to their dream. Have you considered the Butterfly Effect?
If someone is against you, you have two choices: to combat them or to respond with love.
When things get crazy, the temptation is to push so hard that sleep, exercise, meditation, prayer and eating correctly slide. But if you do that, you show up empty and you can't give away value on empty. You need to take care of yourself well to be able to show up filled up and provide value.
Your goal when you start your business is to just get paid something. But you first have to create value for other people. Don't ask yourself how you can make more money, but instead how you can create more value. If you 10x your value, you can 10x your income.
Have you ever felt like you're pedaling against the wind? How do you get past it? When we find ourselves doing that while cycling, we help pace each other and pull each other. Sometimes we need to let someone else to pull us. Sometimes we need to be the leader and pull others. Build a team that can pull for each other.
In life, we're always battling something. But here's a bit of encouragement. When the battle is fiercest, your victory is nearest. God is with us in our battles. If you are close to giving up, just remember that your victory is near. Now is the time to strengthen your faith and your mind. Finish strong.
You have to know what you want in order to get someone else's help. Sometimes you need to take time to go figure out what you want or to ask someone on your team to do it for you. Delegating is how you grow. Don't be a control freak.
