Fried Squirms Horror Movie Podcast

The Fried Squirms are back with another theme month, and to kick off our first run on vampires Danny decided to go with an old school pick. You may have heard the name before, but no it's not a joke. The boys jump into 1972's BLACULA and attempt to explain a little about exploitation, blaxploitation, and how surprisingly progressive this flick comes across. So pop out of your coffins, don't rock the boat, and join in!

Come One! Come All! See and hear for yourself the wonders under the Big Top as presented by the Fried Squirms! Everything is cotton candy and balloon animals as the boys check in with the Chiodo brother's cult classic KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE. A town comes under very lethal attack from ridiculous extraterrestrials in this campy-horror wonder that will have you worried about oversized shoes and pies for years to come!

This week the Squirms bring to you another flick showcasing a horror Legend. Sure, we've proved in the past that we enjoy bringing delightful tales of Satan and the occult to you, but never before this have those tales involved the one, the only, Christopher Lee! Within this episode we run down some facts about one of the most interesting people to have ever lived, yuck it up about demons, and notice cult members saving room for Jesus. Come Ride with us on this trip!

The Squirms decide to land on some hot topics as they push for a racially fueled double header of horror with recent flicks GREEN ROOM and GET OUT. Will a punk band survive when trapped by skinheads? Maeby. Will a young black man survive when trapped by his girlfriend's mom? We'll get to the root of it. Will the Fried Squirms manage to put together coherent thoughts about these touchy subjects? Jump in with us and find out!

Tyler and Danny went out to the movies. Being the Fried Squirms, it only makes sense that they come home with tales of cannibalism and depravity. In this bonus episode the boys review RAW, an emotionally powerful, recent horror gem from France. In it, a young vegetarian woman (Garance Marillier) eats raw meat as part of a college hazing, only for it to lead to a horrifying self-discovery process, aided(?) by her fellow student and sister (Ella Rumpf). This flick from Julia Ducournau was certainly a tasty treat for the Squirms and they hope you agree!

Looking back to the past again the Fried Squirms take on Vincent Price for the first time in 1968's WITCHFINDER GENERAL. Danny and Tyler dig into the man, the myth, and the legend of this actor, and the eponymous character of this horror classic. So sit back at the stake, turn up the volume, and burn one with the boys!

For their 25th episode the boys sure have whipped up something special. We've made no bones in the past that Kevin Smith was an inspiration for doing our podcast. So to pay tribute to him, the late Michael Parks, and the power of friendship, the Squirms bring to you both their first double header and first in-studio guest! A bigoted, murderous preacher and a man getting turned into a walrus are just the beginning as three fans gush about one of their favorite filmmakers/podcasters and his foray into the horror genre!

A serial killer's every major move caught meticulously on film is the basis for one of the boy's favorite horror movies, The Poughkeepsie Tapes! Once found, a killer's genius is revealed, if you can make it past the first kill. And be wary of who you watch it with....

A funny end to a long road, this week's episode of Fried Squirms wraps up the boys venture through modern slashers with 2010's horror comedy Tucker and Dale vs Evil! This absurdly clever comedy plays off all you and the characters think they know to result in a massacre of teens and two lovable hillbillies in the center of it all. Listen in as Danny and Tyler forget both Mark Addy and James Purefoy's names as they bust their guts to this fine movie.

If your hero was Michael Myers, what would you do? The Fried Squirms return this week with a movie that takes a deep look in at how one does the job of a slasher with BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON. See the hard work that goes into terrorizing horny teens and emerge from the other side with the final girl, Danny, and Tyler!

This time around Danny and Tyler aren't the only ones who know what the rules of the game are....the killer does too! This week the Fried Squirms continue their look into the evolution of slashers with a true gem from the mid-90s, Wes Craven's SCREAM! The characters themselves tell you how to survive, right before they almost all perish. Join the boys in seeing how this all goes down.
