Elizabeth talks about growing up in the Californian Valley, her mums 70’s food habits, her friendship with HAIM & being the younger sister to Mary Kate & Ashley. We managed to record this prior to the national lockdown restrictions meaning mum was able to cook up a storm & we chatted over wine and a feast. What a delight it was, we love Lizzie! The greatest compliment I have ever received is that my doppelgänger is this week's guest Gemma Arterton, so obviously I discussed that with her, as well as our shared love of marmite and peanut butter and how we both have a sister called Hannah. Gemma tells us about growing up in Gravesend, eating Yak, her love of baking, filming in the Nepalese mountains & cheese being her one true love. This is a BIG one!!! Straight out of Nashville, the one and only Country ICON Dolly Parton joins us on Table Manners. We chatted to Dolly - dressed head to toe in festive gear - back in October, before her beautiful book Storyteller had reached these shores and before we knew she had potentially helped cure covid with her generous donation to help fund a covid vaccine. As well as telling us all about cosying up with Michael Buble on her new christmas record ‘A Holly Dolly Christmas’ she talks to us about her upbringing in the mountains, being one of 12 children, her speciality of Chicken and Dumplings, that Glastonbury show and the very first time she heard Whitney Houston sing her song on the radio. We recorded this back in September when Simon came round to mum's for a socially distanced Prawn Saganaki and a Simon Rogan Apple Tart. The fantastically glamorous Grace Dent arrived in Clapham having already won mum over with her leopard print dress as soon as she step through the door. The broadcaster, author and restaurant critic joined us round the dinner table for mum's delicious harissa meatballs whilst mum and I fawned over her every word. We heard about her dad’s famous ‘Sketty’, her love of Angel Delight and a drink she describes as ‘Happiness In A Glass’ - a Pina Colada. The Masterchef regular tells us about growing up ‘up north’, her 'sarcastic face', memories of watching the Blackpool illuminations and how she can get into any restaurant she wants... This is big. This is huge!!!!! The one and only ultimate pop princess and style icon arrived in Clapham, followed by paparazzi on a hump day. Kylie was the first concert I ever went too and we named our guinea pigs after her (and Jason) so who can blame me for the fangirl situation! Kylie tells us all about her upbringing in Australia and her journey to fame, where Charlene's famous overalls are now & how she’ll only have a questionable half sized cup of tea. It's season 10 and we bagged a podcast newbie! Mr Michael McIntyre - we knew we’d love you but now we are absolutely HOOKED! You have finally broken my fear of watching comedy, with this front row seat to your hilarity and three hours of laughing til we cried! From the moment Michael walked in (thermometer in hand), we did not stop laughing. We spoke about fridge habits, restaurant etiquette, egg-offs with his wife and his mum, excitable Rosé, trying to be cool for his children & food pronunciation!
