I’m not even talking about overweight kids. I’m talking about actual obesity in China.    Yes, the Chinese once were considered one of the leanest populations in the world. Now, if you look at obesity in China vs. America, there is a lot less of a difference. China is ranked #2 behind the United States for obesity. Yes, the Chinese have always consumed rice. But, the Asian diet has also changed a lot over time. How the Chinese diet has changed:  • They consume a lot more sugar • They don’t consume as many vegetables • They used to consume more fish and seafood • There are more fried foods now instead of primarily boiled foods • They don’t consume as many fermented foods  • Western food and beverage companies have helped shape the science and public policy on obesity in China.  • There is a lot more snacking going on • There is a lot more GMO soy being consumed The Chinese are not getting thinner. Do women live longer than men in the first place? On average, yes. It has to do with estrogen.  Men vs. women life expectancy:  Men - On average 76 years Women - On average 81 years In the body, there is a constant battle going on between oxidation and antioxidants. If there is too much oxidation at the genetic level and not enough antioxidants you will end up with a build-up of free radicals. Free radicals - Create damage within the DNA and various proteins in the body.  Estrogen can come in as a very powerful antioxidant and give you what you need to balance out the oxidation. Phytoestrogens from plants, like cruciferous vegetables, can also help the antioxidant networks. Genes - The hardware for example (like a DVD) Epigenetics - The software for example (like a DVD player) You can’t extract data from the “DVD” (genes) without the “DVD player”(epigenetics). Should you remove your gallbladder because of a stone? What causes gallstones, and what should you do about them?    First off, always check with your doctor before applying this information. I'm not telling you not to take your gallbladder out, and I'm not telling you to have your gallbladder taken out. This is just some information for you to think about.    Here are a few main symptoms of gallstones or a gallbladder problem:  • Right shoulder pain • Bloating • Pain under the right rib cage    Your gallbladder is an essential organ. There is a condition called postcholecystectomy syndrome. This refers to symptoms (sometimes life-long symptoms) that occur 40% of the time after a person goes through a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal). You could even become bile deficient or deficient in certain essential vitamins, fatty acids, and DHA.    There really needs to be a good reason for you to undergo gallbladder removal surgery. It shouldn't be because of just one little stone.    If there are too many stones, it may be that you're past the point of reversal. At this point, you may just have to have the gallbladder removed. Today, we're going to talk about the best way to know if you have low stomach acid.   The top three indicators of low stomach acid are: 1. Indigestion 2. Gas 3. Heartburn when you eat   What is the point of stomach acid?  1. Breakdown proteins 2. Kill pathogens 3. Absorb minerals and B12   GERD, as well as the symptoms like indigestion, gas, and heartburn, is usually caused by low stomach acid. When you have these problems, you're typically given an antiacid. Antiacids will make you feel better temporarily, but the next time you eat the issues will become worse and worse. How do consuming sweets and refined carbohydrates pull nutrients out of the body?   What do nutrients do in the body? - They act as a co-helper in metabolism (burning fuel).   When you consume calories without nutrients, your body has to pull certain nutrients from its reserves to burn that fuel or make tissue.   Eating high carb foods and sugar depletes nutrients like:   • Vitamin B1  • Potassium   • Magnesium   • Zinc   A deficiency in these vitamins and minerals could cause problems like:   • Raised heartbeat  • Fluid retention  • Insomnia  • Anxiety  • Stress  • Low testosterone  • Low immune function  • Loss in taste or smell   If given a choice, your body will choose sugar over vitamin C. Too much sugar will deplete your body of vitamin C.   When you consume sugar over time, you will eventually develop insulin resistance. In this video, I’m going to fill you in on a few essential things to know about TB. I also want to tell you about a vitamin that may act as the best remedy out there for you.   Which vitamins for TB should I take? - The number one vitamin a person needs if they have TB is vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 may actually speed up recovery, lessen TB symptoms, and even put the person in remission.   D3 controls the immune system. If you have a vitamin D deficiency, you’re susceptible to getting an infection from either a virus or bacteria.   There are a few reasons people become deficient in vitamin D3:   • People don’t go outside as much   • It’s difficult to get RDAs from food  • As you age you lose the ability to absorb vitamin D3  • The darker your skin, the more vitamin D3 you need  • It can be more difficult to get vitamin D3 from the sun depending on where you live  • If your liver or gallbladder are damaged, you won’t be able to absorb D3 too well  • Viruses  • A genetic defect If you have TB, you may want to try taking 20,000 IUs of vitamin D3 per day with meals. You may come across some keto naysayers or ketogenic diet critics. What are you supposed to say to them?    If you’re wondering how to respond to ketogenic diet criticism, this is what you need to do:   1. Don’t defend yourself. Instead ask what their solution is to problems like diabetes.   • They may say a healthy diet should be one approved by the USDA, AHA, or ADA. But, the dietary guidelines for the USDA are 65% carbohydrates.   2. Ask why 200-300g of carbs per day is healthy. With keto, we recommend only 5% carbohydrates, which comes out to only about 20-50g of carbs per day.   Healthy keto is the healthiest thing you can do. When responding to criticism, you really want the keto critics to start looking at the huge carbohydrate problem in relationship to the health problems that we have.   Ketogenic diet critics often don’t even know what a ketone or ketosis is. I’m going to cover the many health benefits of kelp that go beyond just the thyroid.   Sea kelp or seaweed is a super-concentrated source of iodine. It’s a plant-based source which your body can utilize very easily. You just need a little bit of it.
