The POTASSIUM Epidemic: Dr. Berg Explains Symptoms, Signs, Diet, Causes, and Treatment | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:08:37

Let’s talk about the importance of potassium and what can happen if you don’t get enough. Your body requires a lot of potassium. The daily requirement for potassium is 4700 mg. Potassium is important for the sodium-potassium pump. The sodium-potassium pump is like a battery for your cells. Vegetables are the best source of potassium. One cup of leafy greens provides between 500 and 800 mg of potassium. If you consumed five to ten cups of vegetables daily, you would get plenty of potassium. In comparison, a banana only provides about 300 mg of potassium. Bananas also contain a lot of fructose. Unfortunately, the average person is not getting enough potassium from their diet—and potassium supplements typically only give you up to 99 mg of potassium per tablet. Potassium deficiency is often overlooked. It’s difficult to diagnose, and symptoms of a potassium deficiency are sometimes vague. Early symptoms often include difficulty breathing, fatigue, and heart palpitations. A more severe deficiency in potassium can lead to the following: • High blood pressure • Increased risk of stroke • Fluid retention or edema • Bone loss • Kidney stones Causes of potassium deficiency that go beyond a lack of potassium in the diet can include: • Penicillin • Diuretics • Steroids • Chronic stress • High insulin (high-carb diet) • Refined or processed foods Even the keto diet and prolonged fasting can lead to a potassium deficiency if not done correctly. You will lose potassium as you lose water weight on keto. Consuming enough potassium on keto and taking a potassium supplement while doing a prolonged fast is crucial. Eating too much too quickly after a prolonged fast or consuming too many carbs after a prolonged fast can also cause a severe potassium deficiency, which can be dangerous. My challenge for you is to start consuming a lot of foods high in potassium, like leafy greens, for one week and see how you feel. I think you're going to notice a big difference.  Eat Different Proteins for Different Problems | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:18:44

Today, I want to share the specific type of protein you should focus on for your specific health concern. I didn't want to cover plant-based protein or protein powders extensively because it became clear that neither were sufficient sources of protein. It’s not just about getting enough protein. The protein in your body can’t work without vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals. It’s important to get your protein from high-quality sources. This means obtaining grass-fed, pasture-raised, and wild-caught animal products. Determining the best type of protein for your needs: 1. Aging The best types of protein are: • Eggs • Oysters or shellfish once a week • Red meat once or twice a week • Beef liver once a week • Fatty fish twice a week • Chicken and turkey (if you don’t do well with excess iron) 2.  The Single BEST Food for Healing and Repair is... | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:10:21

Today, I want to cover the best food to support healing and repair: red meat. Not only does red meat have the most protein, but it also has some other amazing benefits. Other types of protein, like eggs and salmon, are beneficial—but red meat is the best to support healing. Of all the things needed for the repair or healing process, amino acids are among the most important. Red meat is more bioavailable and is a more concentrated source of amino acids than other types of protein. It also contains more iron, magnesium, zinc, B vitamins, vitamin K, and omega-3 fatty acids than eggs. This doesn’t include processed meat from factory farms. It’s crucial to get high-quality grass-fed, grass-finished red meat. Red meat also contains four important additional nutrients for healing, repair, and recovery: 1. Carnitine 2. Creatine 3. Carnosine 4. Coenzyme Q10 People who have difficulty digesting red meat typically have low stomach acid. Even if you don’t like the taste of red meat, it may be because you have low stomach acid. Betaine hydrochloride may be beneficial to help strengthen your stomach acid. You can try taking three to five betaine hydrochloride supplements before a meal for about one month. However, if you tend to have excess iron, red meat may not be for you. Instead, you could try consuming more poultry or eggs.  The Unique Benefits of Magnesium Glycinate: How It's Different | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:08:26

Let’s talk about the unique benefits of magnesium glycinate. Magnesium is involved in over 300 different enzymes and comes in a lot of different forms. Magnesium glycinate is a combination of magnesium and the amino acid glycine. This combination increases absorption in the intestine. Magnesium oxide, sulfate, carbonate, and hydroxide are all poorly absorbed. Magnesium glycinate is also very gentle on your stomach and is less likely to cause diarrhea, like other forms of magnesium can. Top benefits of magnesium glycinate: • It promotes overall relaxation and muscle relaxation • It supports sleep and may help with insomnia • It improves energy during the day • It supports healthy blood pressure • It regulates calcium • It reduces the risk of kidney stones • It increases insulin sensitivity and promotes healthy blood sugar • It may help with migraines • It may help with depression and anxiety • It may help reduce stress To increase the absorption even more, find a magnesium glycinate supplement that also contains vitamin D3 and vitamin B6. You can take magnesium glycinate with or without food. The best time to take this form of magnesium is right before bed. However, taking it at other times of the day won’t make you feel tired, just relaxed. Consider taking between 100 mg to 400 mg daily, depending on the severity of the issue. Taking high amounts of magnesium glycinate over time may lead to slightly lower blood pressure or contribute to diarrhea. Also, keep in mind that magnesium glycinate may interfere with certain medications. To get more magnesium in your diet, start consuming more leafy green vegetables.  How to Flatten Your Belly (FOR GOOD) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:09:54

Let’s talk about how to flatten your belly fast. Crunches are not the secret to six-pack abs. To get flat abs and avoid poor posture or back pain at the same time, you need to balance exercises like crunches with other types of exercise, like back exercises. Two of the best types of exercises for belly fat are long walks or hikes and high-intensity interval training (HIIT). While exercise is important, diet is more critical when it comes to losing belly fat. The best fat-burning diet is the Healthy Keto® diet. This is a combination of high-quality protein, low-starch vegetables, and other nutrient-dense, low-carb foods. Intermittent fasting is also beneficial to help you lose weight and get healthy. You may want to add more fat to your diet initially to help you fast for longer periods. But, once you become adapted and start losing fat, you may want to cut back the fat you consume. You can take certain remedies for fat-burning, but realize these won't work unless you also change your diet. A few of the best fat-burning supplements include: • Garcinia Cambogia • Raspberry ketones • Green tea extract • Caffeine • Chili pepper extract In some cases, you might mistake bloating for belly fat. Intermittent fasting can help decrease bloating. Bloating could mean you also need more acid in your stomach. Betaine hydrochloride is the best remedy for bloating caused by a lack of stomach acid. A lack of bile can also create bloating. In this case, you could try taking bile salts. Top foods that cause bloating include: • Fruit • Yogurt • Beans • Grains • Almond flour • Sugar alcohols • Tapioca fiber • Soluble corn fiber • Plant-based green shakes or protein shakes If you have IBS or an inflammatory condition in your gut, you may want to try the carnivore diet for a little while to see if that helps reduce bloating. To flatten your stomach fast, you also need to lower your stress. Walking, physical work, and getting plenty of sleep are great ways to reduce stress. If you’re going into menopause, it’s also essential to support your adrenal glands to help avoid stubborn belly fat down the road.  5 Secrets That the SUGAR Industry Does Not Want You to Know About | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:05:25

Today, I’m going to share five secrets that the sugar industry doesn’t want you to know. 1. They hid the truth about the dangers of sugar They quietly paid researchers to cover up a study that connected eating sugar to increasing the risk of heart attacks, other cardiovascular events, and cancer. 2. They made sugar an essential ingredient in food An average person in the US consumes 26 teaspoons of sugar every day. 3. Sugar is subsidized in the United States Tax dollars are paid to farmers to produce sugar. 4. The bliss point This is the optimized amount of sugar to create a delicious effect, which causes a spike in endorphins. This practice trains the mind that to feel pleasure, you need to keep eating sugar. 5. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics establishes food policies This is a group of dietitians who are the most influential over food policy. Unfortunately, they have a close relationship with the ultra-processed food industry. Sugar is composed of fructose and glucose. Glucose is metabolized by all of your cells. But, fructose is only metabolized by the liver. When you consume high amounts of table sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, you’re creating a toxic effect on the liver, similar to alcohol toxicity. When you cut sugar out of the diet, your body replaces it with ketones. Ketones are a super fuel for the body. Cutting out sugar and going on a low-carb diet is not only better for your health, but it will also help shift the market to a healthier one.  Dr. Berg Gets Censored (Silenced) | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:12:51

YouTube has just banned anything related to health that doesn’t align with the general medical consensus. If any information related to health doesn’t agree with the World Health Organization, the video won’t necessarily be taken down, but it may be hard to find. This is supposed to protect viewers against misinformation and promote high-quality health information. But, their definition of misinformation is anything that opposes their viewpoint. I currently have collected 7,607 success stories—I’m helping people. My information is not misinformation. It’s helpful information. Traditional medicine doesn’t work for everyone, and people are looking for inexpensive natural remedies. How are they supposed to find alternative viewpoints or opinions? A lot of people are searching for the keto diet. However, many medical professionals don't really understand nutritional ketosis. Many times, doctors don’t get training in nutrition or alternatives. Yet these are the people who get to control this information. Healthy ketosis is not toxic or dangerous. Ketones are a super fuel and are antioxidants. On the other hand, glucose is dangerous and toxic. I would love to get your opinion on this situation. Please click the link above and go through the survey questions to let me know your opinion on this recent radical change of suppressing alternative viewpoints on health.  What Really Causes Styes and How to Get Rid of Them Fast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:10:01

Today, I want to share a few interesting natural alternatives for styes. A stye is a little pimple or pustule on the eyelid, usually involving a sebaceous gland. The sebaceous glands are oil glands. If one of these glands becomes clogged, it can lead to a staph infection and inflammation. It typically causes a lot of redness and irritation. In many cases, within seven days, the stye will go away. But, some people deal with recurring styes. People with diabetes have a much higher incidence of styes and staph infections. Sometimes retinoids, a type of vitamin A, are used as a treatment for styes. There is an interesting relationship between vitamin A and styes. One thing that can occur with a vitamin A deficiency is hyperkeratosis. Hyperkeratosis causes a roughened extra layer of skin tissue in the ducts of the sebaceous glands. This means that a vitamin A deficiency can cause the sebaceous glands to be clogged, leading to inflammation. A certain study on humans showed a significant vitamin A deficiency in those who had styes vs. those who did not. Vitamin A is also important for the immune system. A deficiency in vitamin A can increase the risk of infection. Diabetes and insulin resistance can also impair the immune system. Vitamin D is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatories, and vitamin D deficiency is associated with many different eye problems. Vitamin D deficiency may increase the risk of both infections and styes. Zinc is important for building up the immune system and reducing the recurrence of styes. Top causes of vitamin A deficiency: • A lack of the active form of vitamin A in the diet (retinol) • Gut inflammation • Liver issues • Gallbladder issues • Lack of bile • Zinc deficiency • Alcohol • Antibiotics Foods rich in vitamin A include: • Beef liver • Egg yolks • Fish • Cod liver oil The best natural ways to help get rid of a stye and keep it from coming back: 1. Get on the Healthy Keto® diet 2. Take vitamin A and vitamin D (cod liver oil) 3. Take zinc (200 mg for one week, then back to normal amounts) 4. Rub a clove of garlic on the stye a few times a day without getting the garlic in your eye 5. Make green tea, then place the cooled green tea bag on your eyelid over the stye Online Keto Coaching: Personalized consultation with Dr Berg, send an email to drericberg@hotmail.com for booking.

The REAL Cause of Autism Revealed: Dr. Berg Explains | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:06:39

Let’s talk about a potential cause of autism and some things to do if you or a loved one has autism. Autism involves inflammation in the brain and a lot of free radical damage without enough antioxidant protection.  The Dangers and Benefits of Alkaline Water | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:10:34

Today, we’re going to talk about the potential dangers and benefits of alkaline water. Natural water from a well or spring is alkaline. It’s alkaline because it contains minerals like calcium and magnesium. Many people believe that things that are acidic are unhealthy and things that are alkaline are healthy. But that’s not altogether true. We have a lot of different acids in our bodies that have many important functions. We don’t need to worry about alkalizing the body. The body regulates the pH in different areas. For example, your blood should be slightly alkaline, but your stomach should be very acidic. It’s possible to get alkaline water created by a machine that uses electricity to alter it instead of using minerals to alkalize it. If you drink alkaline water that's created artificially, you’re going to alter the pH in the stomach. Potential side effects of alkaline water made artificially can include: • Heartburn • Acid reflux • Gas • GERD • Infection • Hair loss • Heart arrhythmias However, natural water, like alkaline spring water, has no side effects. Alkalizing the stomach could lead to a deficiency in stomach acids. The stomach should be very acidic to help you break down protein, absorb minerals and vitamin B12, and kill pathogens. As we age, we lose stomach acid. Antacids also weaken stomach acid. But, low stomach acid is the root cause of symptoms like heartburn, GERD, and acid reflux. Alkalizing the stomach instead of acidifying it could worsen these symptoms and lead to many other serious side effects. I’ve found that I can digest better when I drink acidic water, like carbonated water—especially if I add a teaspoon of either apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Overall, alkaline water has certain health benefits because it contains minerals. But alkaline water is only beneficial if it’s natural and not created by a machine.

The Root Causes of Depression | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:11:15

There is no evidence that depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain involving serotonin. It has been found that SSRIs can temporarily help increase serotonin in the brain. However, drug trials have shown that these anti-depressants were almost indistinguishable from the placebo in treating depression. SSRIs come with a lot of side effects, including serious side effects involving the sex organs. Psychiatric drugs also come with a black box warning, meaning there is a high risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Does depression cause body problems, or do body problems cause depression? I think it could be both—but we’re going to focus on the body problems and deficiencies that could cause depression. Potential causes of depression: 1. Insomnia 2. Chronic fatigue 3. Stress 4. Nutritional deficiencies (vitamin D, vitamin B12, vitamin B1, magnesium, DHA) 5. Lack of exercise

The DOPAMINE Myth | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:08:42

Let’s talk about dopamine. Dopamine has many functions. It’s involved in body movement, sleep cycles, gastrointestinal motility, food intake, learning, kidney function, and blood pressure. Dopamine is associated with behaviors and certain emotions. However, people on the lower end of the emotional scale aren't going to just have low dopamine but also other neurotransmitters and hormones. Dopamine is increased with pleasure, but it’s also increased with stress and pain. Conditions related to low dopamine include: • Parkinson’s • Schizophrenia • ADD or ADHD • Depression Medications used to treat the above conditions can deplete other neurotransmitters and have potential side effects. Dopamine isn’t a single molecule that works on its own to create an effect. It’s a system that creates many different effects. Trying to increase dopamine without looking at the bigger picture isn’t going to work. Here are some action steps you can take if you have low dopamine: 1. Get rid of artificial stimulus 2. Balance dopamine and other neurotransmitters 3. Consume a little more animal protein and fat 4. Support your gut microbiome 5. Get plenty of vitamin C (leafy greens or sauerkraut) 6. Get plenty of copper (shellfish or seafood) Tips to help balance dopamine and other neurotransmitters naturally: • Exercise consistently • Get outside • Get plenty of sun or vitamin D3 • Involve yourself in music or the arts • Do things you like • Get connected with other people • Get plenty of tyrosine (consume high-quality animal protein)

The Benefits of Iodine, Side-Effects and More | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:09:13

Today, I want to cover some interesting information on iodine that goes way beyond what it does for the thyroid. Most of your iodine is stored in your thyroid. However, iodine is important for many other organs. The RDAs for iodine in the US are 150 mcg. But, in Japan, on average, people consume 1000 to 3000 mcg of iodine daily. They also have fewer problems associated with iodine deficiency than we do in the US. That being said, excess iodine can create just as many problems as a deficiency in iodine. I think it’s most beneficial to get the iodine you need from food. Shellfish and sea kelp are rich in iodine. But there is also iodine in eggs, dairy, iodized salt, and sea salt. Unless you consume foods rich in iodine, either from the sea or from vegetables grown on the coastline, chances are you’re not getting enough iodine in your diet. Iodine may help with various conditions, including: • Estrogen dominance • Heavy periods • Fibrocystic breasts • Ovarian cysts • Endometriosis • Fibroids • Prostate enlargement • PCOS • Cystic acne • TB • Croup • Asthma • Toenail fungus • Warts and skin tags • Thyroid conditions • Weight gain • Brain fog • Feeling cold (excessively) • Dry skin and hair • Constipation • Depression Top causes of iodine deficiency: • Consuming excessive amounts of raw cruciferous vegetables • Consuming millet, soy, or sweet potatoes • The vegan diet • Pregnancy and lactation • Low-salt diets • Fluoride • Bromide • Perchlorate in water • Nitrates

4 Skin Signs That Reveal Heavy Metal Toxicity | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:05:09

Today we’re going to talk about how heavy metal toxicity can affect your skin. It’s the dose that determines the poison. We’re all exposed to various toxins and heavy metals, but in low amounts, they won’t affect our bodies. There are a lot of different signs of heavy metal toxicity, but I want to cover a few distinct symptoms of heavy metal toxicity to be aware of. One of the best remedies for heavy metal toxicity is distilled water. Try drinking distilled water and then consuming the minerals you need. Potential effects of heavy metals on the skin: 1. Cadmium Cadmium can be found in: • Spray paint • Tobacco • Shellfish In high amounts, cadmium may lead to: • Yellowing or tanning of the skin • Skin cancer Nutrients that help protect against cadmium toxicity: • Zinc • Antioxidants A great natural remedy to help protect against cadmium poisoning: • NAC 3. Lead Lead can be found in: • Paint • Water supply • Soil In high amounts, lead may cause: • A blue line on the gums Nutrients that help protect against lead toxicity: • Calcium • Iron A great natural remedy to help protect against lead poisoning: • Calcium EDTA • Alpha-lipoic acid 4. Mercury Mercury can be found in: • Dental work • Fish • Thimerosal In high amounts, mercury may lead to: • Graying of the skin • A pink color on the palms of your hands and soles of your feet Fish and seafood that are low in mercury include: • Anchovies • Catfish • Clams • Crab • Crawfish • Flounder • Herring • Oysters • Sardines • Scallops A great way to help protect against mercury poisoning:  • Consume at least one Brazil nut a day

The Best Foods, Smoothies, and Supplements for a Liver Cleanse Detox | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:13:04

Let’s talk about how to detox the liver naturally and healthily. The liver doesn’t hold or store toxins—it gets rid of toxins. When we’re talking about a liver cleanse, we’re talking about getting rid of fat, inflammation, and scar tissue in the liver. These things weaken the ability of the liver to detox. The liver is the only organ that can completely regenerate, but there is a point of limitation. Keep in mind that you can get rid of 50 percent of the fat in the liver just by going on a low-carb diet. You don’t need to get on a low-fat diet, but a low-carb diet is crucial. Alcohol consumption can lead to fatty liver disease. But, one of the top causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is fructose. The best foods for liver detoxification: • Cruciferous vegetables • Beets • Blueberries • Organ meats • Grass-fed beef • Eggs • Fatty fish (salmon and sardines) • Seafood • Sauerkraut • Kimchi • Kefir • Pickles The best shakes and smoothies for liver detoxification: 1. One cup of blueberries blended with a couple of handfuls of frozen kale and some water 2. One to two cups of whole milk kefir blended with one cup of blueberries and water (optional) The best drink for liver detoxification: 1. Two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with the juice of one lemon (or one blended whole lemon) and 12 ounces of water The best supplements for liver detoxification: • Milk thistle • Choline • Turmeric • Purified bile salts • Probiotics • Tocotrienols Check out my other videos on supporting a healthy liver and my Liver Cleanse supplement, designed with your liver in mind.
