Kansas City Women in Technology is a grassroots organization with the aim of increasing the number of women in the technology industry in Kansas City. It was founded about 6 years ago and provides 3 primary ways to support women, who are curious about careers in technology. The first method is through encouragement for young girls, which tries to open up the conversation of women having careers in technology. The second method is to provide mentors for these young women that they might have someone to help them along. Lastly, they host networking opportunities for current professionals with activities such as Coding & Cocktails or Coding & Cupcakes.
