 Furiously Fast - Mailbag #28 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:01:37

I know what you're thinking, Fast & Furious isn't a Superhero movie and this is the mailbag. Why are Kriss & Dpalm talking about the Fast & Furious 9 trailer? See, that's where you got it wrong. The Fast & Furious Saga is ABSOLUTELY a Superhero series. It's up there with the MCU at this point. Yes yes, we know, this started off about street racing and stealing DVD players and now we're to the point of strapping rockets on the back of cars and having "magnetic planes". Look, you're just gonna have to learn to live with it. Listen as we talk about this ridiculous trailer, read listener emails and talk about some of the latest news. Topics: * Emails * Arrow Series Finale feedback * Good villain story arcs for a long flight * Golden age characters * News * Jason Aaron is writing a Moon Knight arc * Scott Snyder is writing a Wonder Woman Dark Knight Metal sequel * Why Margot Robbie picked Birds of Prey over Gotham City Sirens * The Falcon and The Winter Soldier release date moved up * Phoenix Jones arrested for drug dealing Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Arrow S8E10 Fadeout Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 41:33

It's the end of an era. The Stephan Amell and the show that launched an another superhero comes to a close. The final episode of Arrow is full of fan service and payoffs for those who have watched this show for 8 seasons. Even better, it doesn't feel like the end but a new beginning. The Arrowverse Universe continues on strong. Also...Thank You for finally giving Diggle his things. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Legends of Tomorrow S5E2 Review – Meet The Legends | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 26:46

The wait is over. The CW champ is back. Yes folks. Legends of Tomorrow is officially back. What can we say, we've missed this crazy group of misfits. What's always so great about Legends of Tomorrow is the blend of humor with the seriousness. The whole episode is ridiculous, with the documentary crew following the Legends around and the Legends acting ridiculous for the cameras. But in the background is the seriousness of Sara mourning because of the death of Oliver during Crisis. The show knows when to hit us with the humor while also giving us those serious and emotional moments. We also haven't forgotten about the disappearance of Zari and the show wastes no time addressing it. Just like the Arrow episode, we're starting to see some of the fallout from the changing timelines and merging of universes.  This season is clearly going to be ridiculous and we're here for it all.  Arrow S8E9 Review Green Arrow & The Canaries | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 25:31

After Crisis we really had no idea what was going to be in store for us with the Arrowverse. We knew that combining all the earths and restarting the Multi-verse would have ramifications but who knew the back door pilot for Green Arrow & the Canaries would really lean into that? Gonna be honest, we were on the fence about covering this show next season but after this episode, to quote Rick & Morty: "You son of a bitch, I'm in". Seriously, time travel, remembering the past and all the fall out that's gonna come from it...who wouldn't be in? Arrow spent 2 seasons building up Mia Queen and seeing her take over as the new Green Arrow is a great payoff. Not to mention bringing Laurel and Dinah in from the 2020 timeline gives us a pretty solid, all female core for this show. Add in the cliff hanger ending and well...what can we say, they got us for at least one seasons. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Crisis on Infinite Earths Review - The Black Lightning Slander Hour | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:24:00

The Super Tuesday Recap crew is back to wrap up the Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths. This episode we cover the Arrow part of the crossover and the Legends of Tomorrow part. But more importantly, we're here with the Black Lightning slander you need. Seriously though, they did treat Black Lightning like the forgotten superhero. How you merge all the earths together and still no one really knows Black Lightning? We also talk about THAT guest appearance. Yes, that one. The one that reminded us there's really only one live action Flash to care about (Because whatever Ezra Miller is doing is NOT the Flash and NOT Barry Allen). But we don't let that sour our enjoyment of this crossover. It was a great sendoff for Stephen Amell and Green Arrow. It's fitting that this universe all started with Oliver Queen and then in his final moments, he brings all the universes together. This is probably the most impactful crossover the Arrowverse has ever done. We can't wait to see the fallout on all the shows now.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  May the Force Be With You - Mailbag #27 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:06:55

It's time for the last mailbag episode of 2019 (or, looking at the release date, the first of 2020). Kriss and Dpalm go through listener emails and hot topics for November and December. The big thing? Star Wars. Despite the divisive opinions on The Rise of Skywalker, it's a great time to be a Star Wars fan. Between the comics, movies, animated shows and streaming Disney+ shows, it's a great time. We also talk trailers (Wonder Woman 1984 and Black Widow) and wonder if WB is making the same marketing mistakes with Birds of Prey that it did with Wonder Woman. Topics: * Emails * Why is Star Wars so divisive these days? * JR Smith proves shooters gonna shoot * Black Panther 2 rumors: Could the FF4 be introduced in BP 2? * News * Wonder Woman 1984 Trailer * Is WB slacking on the Birds of Prey marketing like they did Wonder Woman? * The Flash movie as a date as does Black Adam * Marvel TV is no more Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Watchmen Episodes 7 - 9 Review Sticking the Landing | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:13:31

It's not often a show comes in and pitches the perfect game for its first season but that's exactly what Damon Lindelof's Watchmen pulled off. Doing a Watchmen series was always a risky proposition but then add in the racial aspects that this show tackled and audiences had a right to be nervous. But Watchmen not only manages to stick its landing with the racial aspects of the show but also serve as a great follow up to Alan Moore's work.    There's a lot to discuss with these final 3 episodes so strap in and listen as we talk about why we loved it so much. And we're perfectly fine if this stays a one & done. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  The Expanse Season 4 Episode 4 - 6 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:00:06

UN Secretary Chrisjen Avasarala told James Holden that the situation on Ilus was "already fucked enough" and to not put his dick in it. Too bad that's exactly what Holden did. Episodes 4  - 6 of The Expanse Season 4 quickly escalate just how much things can go to shit. There's a lot of moving parts and pieces of the story going on at the same time (Just like every season of The Expanse) but we're starting to see how everything is coming together. * We learn that Lucia is responsible (well partially) for the pad blowing up that gave Murtry the cause he needed to be a murderous psycho * Because Holden decided to listen to the voice in his head and start touching things, Ilus now faces catastrophic changes that force the Belters and RNC to take shelter in one of the old structures. Oh and physics has decided to stop working and all of the ships in space above the planet can no longer start their fusion drives because fusion reactions no longer happen. FUN TIMES * Avasarala is going to have her hands full with Nancy Gao * Ashford and Drummer are trying to maintain the delicate balance of peace and give the Belters a true stake in the galaxy. But that's easier said than done. The Belters have been wronged and someone like Marco Inaros is just the kind of person to never let them forget that and tip the sales back to war * Poor Bobbie. She's learning that times have changed and she's now working full time as a criminal. But this is probably also the thread we need to show that connection between Marco and potentially whatever Nancy is up to (we don't trust her). Listen as we break down these three episodes and stay tuned. We'll be back to cover the last 4 episodes of this season soon.   Like what you hear?  Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 1 - So That's How You Do Superman | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:53:40

A couple weeks ago there was a source saying that WB is struggling to figure out what to do with Superman in their movies because they're struggling to make a "relatable story". Meanwhile, over at WB TV and the Arrowverse, they just gave us 3 Superman (and one Supergirl), all that are super relatable and embody what Superman is all about. Crisis on Infinite Earths, this years big Arrowverse crossover has been one big lovefest for the fans of the characters. The first 3 parts have shown just how ridiculous the problems WB apparently has had bringing DC characters to the big screen are. There's so much to love in these first three parts and that doesn't even include all the cameos they've had. Here are some of the things we talk about on our review: * How does WB plan on selling an Ezra Miller Flash movie when Grant Gustin is clearly the definitive Barry Allen? Between the conversation Barry has with Iris and the one he has with Jefferson Pierce, this is it. This is Barry Allen. Miller's interpretation is never going to come close so why even try? * Speaking of Flash's, even John Wesley Shipp's fate as Barry Allen from Earth-90 was so good and another solid understanding of the character that the movies have yet to realize * Not one. Not two. But THREE Supermen in various stages that all nailed the Man of Steel. Bryan Singer had Brandon Routh as Superman and squandered it. * Kevin Conroy showing how to do a Bruce Wayne that lost hope and went dark better than any "Snydercut" ever could * Oliver Queen becoming the Spectre? Oh you beautiful bastards keep having surprises up your sleeves * Ruby Rose still can't act but pairing her up with Melissa Benoist is clearly the winning combination and is a great spin on the Batman/Superman relationship * All the cameos and more Sit back and listen as the Super Tuesday crew discuss the first 3 parts of this big crossover and we will see you back for the finale in January!  The Expanse Season 4 Episodes 1 - 3 Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:03:18

We told you we were doing it and we delivered. Ro and Kriss are here to review Season 4 of The Expanse. We will be reviewing this is 3 episode chunks. We got early access to the first 6 episodes on Amazon Prime Video and in order to keep spoilers to a minimum we're only releasing a review of the first 3 now. Episodes 4 - 6 will come shortly after the series releases this Friday. So how is season 4 so far? Excellent of course. The move to Amazon Prime Video from SyFy has been good to this show. It's as beautiful as ever and since the events of season 3 literally opened up whole new worlds to explore, we get to see that Amazon budget in full effect. There are several interesting dynamics happening early in season 4: * Some Belters make it  pass the UN blockade and make it through the gate and settle on one of the worlds. There's an interesting dynamic between Belters who believe they should stick to the stars and never settle on a planet and those who feel like planets like "New Terra" are the chance for those who have never felt the ground beneath their feet to finally have land to call their own * Bobbie is back home on Mars but feels like an outcast. Even though she saved Mars and is a patriot, her home planet views her as a traitor who put Earth over Mars * Amos is still very much Amos. And he picks up an interesting nemesis this season in Adolphus Murtry (Played by Burn Gorman). Both of them are killers, its just that Amos is one of the good guys. We love Amos * Chrisjen Avasarala is now the UN Secretary-General and is facing an election challenge from a young upstart who believes the Secretary-General is being too cautious when it comes to the new worlds. Avasarala is worried that the "land rush" is going to lead to the fragile peace being destroyed and worse, that whatever killed the builders as well as the protomolecule are still out there. * Holden and the crew are dispatched by Avasarala to Ilus/New Terra to investigate if the protomolecule is there and if it's safe for the Belters to stay. Once they land they're not only attacked by something but they notice there are large monoliths around the world. Holden works with "Miller" to try to "solve the case" but in the process could be causing even bigger issues. All that and more and that's just the first three episodes. Season 4 of The Expanse drops on Amazon Prime on December 13th. Make sure you check it out and then stay tuned as we continue to review the rest of this 10 episode season.   Like what you hear?  Prelude to Crisis: The Flash S6E8 & Arrow S8E7 Reviews | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 54:52

Crisis is just about here and so we decided to combine the reviews for The Flash S6E8 and Arrow S8E7 into one episode. Since both shows have been leading up to the inevitable Crisis, we figured it best to just do them as one big episode. On The Flash, the team learns to trust themselves and work together to stop Bloodwork and the infected Barry. It's a good example of how far the team has come and forcing them to believe in themselves. On Arrow, Oliver confronts the final bits of his past to ensure he's no longer the same man he used to be. Arrow has done a great job of showing us how far Oliver has come while also building up the other character to move on in the Canaries pilot. It took 8 seasons but Laurel is finally a Black Canary we can get behind and the last few episodes have had her and Oliver team up. It's a great development for the character that caught so much backlash in earlier seasons (for good reason sometimes). We also discuss what we expect to see in the crossover (Still can't believe they're actually doing this on the CW) and the future of both shows after. Give it a listen.  Supergirl S5E8 Review – We Stand With Melissa | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:08:41

Photo credit: The CW Network We are back for the episode that predates the finale to discuss...WHUT?  Perhaps it is because The Doctor isn't watching the other shows but that set up felt a bit off.  That said, the episode was enjoyable.  You get us warbling some old tv ads and strange tie ins, the discussion of Lena being deliciously petty, Alex's Hot 16, the BS that was the resolution of the J'onn/Malefic storyline, and Kara desperately trying to save Lena from herself.  We also discuss Melissa Benoist's recent Instagram post where she reveals she was the victim of domestic partner violence, a situation that has left her with permanent eye damage and explains a LOT about how she would present in interviews in the early seasons of the show.  We are with you Melissa and are happy that you found happiness, love, and safety finally.   Like what you hear?  Watchmen Episodes 5 & 6 It's Not Politics Just Racism Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 59:52

We’re back to review episodes 5 & 6 of HBO’s Watchmen. Kriss, Ro and Dpalm talk about the reveals in these last two episodes that really begin to shine a light on where the show is going. The biggest being the retcon of the origin of Hooded Justice.    Watchmen is pretty groundbreaking. The show has made racism in America and the effects of that a centerpiece of the show. It could have easily used the Black Wallstreet scenes from episode 1 to bring people in then leave digging any further into the trauma of black Americans out of the show. Instead each episode has explored more and more what that trauma means and does. Even in episode 5 as we get Looking Glass’ origin, we also have talk about generational PTSD and how the trauma can be passed along to generation to generation. Then there’s the reveal that Angela’s grandfather is Will Reeves and was Hooded Justice. Watching him kick the ass of racist white cops/KKK members was a thing of beauty. Episode 6 is one of the most satisfying hours of television we’ve seen in a while.    Listen as we discuss these latest 2 episodes and what we loved so much about them and the show as a whole.  Arrow S8E6 Reset Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 25:14

We really could have reviewed Flash and Arrow this week as one big episode as they both work so well together. On the Flash we see Barry give into the temptations of Bloodwork because of the doubt he has about giving up his life. On Arrow, we get the opposite with Oliver finally giving in and accepting that he can't change his fate. And of course for Oliver to learn that lesson we get him reunited with Quentin. Stephen Amell and Paul Blackthorne always have great chemistry and this episode is no different. Add to that we get Laurel getting to finally say goodbye to Quentin and tell him how much she loves him. The fact that that was her reward for not betraying Oliver when Lyla asked her to also shows how everything so far has been the plan of The Monitor. The question is how long has Lyla been working with The Monitor ('A while' really isn't an answer). With us going back to Lian Yu, that just leaves one person we haven't seen Oliver reunited with (One Slade Wilson...come on Arrow...do it).  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.
