No. 202 - KKUPFL 2018 Championship Tier Auction Draft: You Can't Take it With You | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:42:39

This episode of the Keeping Karlsson Hockey Podcast features the live recording, play-by-play and colour commentary of the Keeping Karlsson Ultimate Patron Fantasy League Championship Tier's auction draft! The draft features 14 owners, drafting from 6 different countries and on 3 different continents, building their teams to compete for ultimate glory in the most prestigious fantasy hockey league on the planet. Elan and Brian are joined by  co-hosts, Keeping Karlsson patron personalities and KKUPFL veterans Ben B and Jade B, who offer their live takes on all the action and offer up biographical nuggets and horoscopes for the Tier 1 drafters. Please bear in mind that this was recorded live! And so it includes many wonderful hiccups, snafus, bloopers and even a botched start to the draft, because nothing ever goes smoothly when you most need it to. "Elan, can you pause" is repeated often, until we discover that Yahoo only lets you pause a draft 5 times, making bathroom breaks for the drafters an extra strategical consideration and challenge. Why, Yahoo?! You can peek at the draft results at this link: https://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/2831/draftresults.  Also: the Keeping Karlsson NHL 2018-19 Audio Almanac is out now! Elan and Brian slaved over hot mics and keyboards for weeks to put together the world's first audio fantasy hockey guide. It all adds up to a comprehensive and exhaustive 32 chapters, 27+ hours of content, 285 player points projections, 65 goalies tiered, and too many arguments to count to help you win your fantasy pool and just know pretty much everything about every relevant player in the entire NHL. Head to keepingkarlsson.com/almanac to purchase, where you'll also find a link to download the first chapter for free. This is also a good place to mention that Keeping Karlsson patrons get 20% off their Almanac purchase! Players discussed on this episode include all 252 players drafted, and then a few more for good measure. * * * Like what you hear?  No. 200 - The Karlsson Also Rises | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:58:18

First things first: Elan and Brian have not traded Karlsson. They are still keeping Karlsson. This podcast remains Keeping Karlsson. Anyone who does that is smart. Anyone who doesn't, particularly in actual real life, and particularly without getting anything of remotely similar value in return, is not.  So anyway, yeah, here's another episode of the Keeping Karlsson Hockey Podcast. It's a pretty good one. It was supposed to be all about Yahoo Average Draft Pick rankings, which we were going to comb through and then pick out some guys who we thought were being picked either too high or were bargains being picked as low as they were. But then this other thing came up. So instead, Brian rants for a bit at the start. Then Elan refocuses on the fantasy fallout of Karlsson to San Jose. Then Elan invokes a bit of a Smörgoåliesbord redux by wanting to tinker amongst tiers based on recent preseason news. Brian is chagrinned by this and wants to refocus on the trade. Then they look at the fallout of Karlsson gone from Ottawa (spoiler: it's not good). Afterwards, the guys do get around to combing Yahoo ADPs as originally planned, highlighting a handful of market inefficiences on both the high and low ends based on fantasy drafting trends to date.  Also: the Keeping Karlsson NHL 2018-19 Audio Almanac is out now! Elan and Brian slaved over hot mics and keyboards for weeks to put together the world's first audio fantasy hockey guide. Elan and Brian took their first crack at making projections in the Keeping Karlsson NHL 2018-19 Audio Almanac, but on this new episode of the Keeping Karlsson Hockey Podcast, they bring in experienced model-maker, The Athletic writer and chart man-to-be Dom Luszczyszyn for some veteran projector leadership, character and grit. After sharing their thoughts on the Pacioretty deal, the three crystal-ball-gazers compare notes for a swath of players on which they disagree the most, and see if they can reach some kind of consensus on their most at-odds projections. You can get Dom's famous projections sheet for yourself by heading over to keepingkarlsson.com/dom.
