 14: My Life’s Motto: Dream Big | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:05

Listen to my very first non-scripted episode where I just speak from the heart on a matter that drives my behavior and outlook on life. I introduced the ‘Dream Big’ mantra to my kiddos after being inspired by the song created by Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand. (See the video here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KwEuNapzt0 ). I share how I have used this message to help my kids achieve more than they could have ever conceived, as well as how my sister-in-law models this motto on a daily basis. You’ll even hear about the ‘Red Plate’ phenomenon in my household. If you have desires in your heart that you have not unlocked or need the motivation to make them a reality, then tune in to this episode! Quotables * My job is to make [students] whole. * I notice you. You are full of so much talent and I love that you are in my life. * I’m not just a teacher. I’m a life-changer. * What is your name? What is your current struggle? I’m here to help you. * How can you reach a goal, if you don’t know what the goal is? * You have to think bigger than what currently is happening. * You can be more than you imagined.  13: “If” versus “When” + How = Now | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:22

When we feel at our worst we begin our thoughts with the word “if.” But when we start empowering ourselves to make things happen for the better, our “if’s” turn to “when’s.” But your work can’t stop there. In order to reach a better place mentally and physically in your moment of distress or transition, start thinking “how” you can make these changes happen NOW. Listen to my story and hear how I followed the simple formula of “if” vs “when” + how = now! Quotables * I was trapping myself by only thinking in the forms of dreams instead of developing actionable steps to turn these dreams into a reality. * Sometimes when you are at the end of your rope, you need to tie a knot instead of letting go. * I was happier because I did something about my pain. Being proactive and changing your doomsday to dream day is pretty invigorating! * Your distress or transition is not a forever fog over your life. It is temporary.  12: More Than a Test Score | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:22

Students are more than a test score. They have talents within that we as teachers need to cultivate so that students can develop as a whole individual and not just as a student. Hear how I used students’ talents to benefit themselves and the classroom learning process at the same time! Quotables * My good intentions were boxing in my students to a mold they weren’t designed to be in. * My strength was also my weakness. * I have empowered my students to take more ownership in my class by tolerating a variety of personality traits knowing these talents are beneficial to my students and their growth. * We need to serve the WHOLE child and not hone in on one area that we miss opportunities for the other areas to grow. Teaching has more to do with the students than it does the teacher. However, we often put so much emphasis on our own performance and our own to do list, we forget to affect kids and create opportunities for their growth. Tune in to hear how you can flip the script and empower students every day in your classroom! Quotables *  Everything you do as an educator is for the students * I spent so much time prepping for a lesson in terms of what I was going to say instead of figuring out what I wanted students to say. * It was awesome to see them grow up in a matter of seconds just because I gave them the opportunity to. * Its about being intentional about how you structure your class to ensure students are learning and growing as people Join elite educators everywhere in snagging tips, tricks and freebies right to your inbox every month!
