Podcasts:
Softy and Shockey are pumped about the realistic possibility of Shohei Ohtani coming to the Mariners. Earl Thomas gets the honor of talking with Softy about Christmas and football. Petros Papadakis is on for his weekly visit and things get pretty silly (as usual). Textimonials react to Petros, the arena, and share some dumb jokes.
Rick Neuheisel is talking all things college football from the Fiesta Bowl to Oregon and their coaching changes (and beyond!). Kevin Harlan is on for his weekly visit and they break down the strength of the NFC this year, the relative mediocrity of the AFC, violence, and... LaVar Ball. We check in and hear a few sound bytes from Jerry Dipoto on his off-season plans. Lastly, a visit with Luke Willson and some thoughts from Mike Mitchell of the Steelers on the NFL.
Pain was coming to either Softy or Shockey when the Seahawks and Eagles kicked off on Sunday night. Hugh Millen is in-studio to pelt Shockey with a football 14 times. They also talked some football before Aaron Levine called in to talk about the KeyArena news.
Softy is fired up about Vita Vea winning the Pat Tillman PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Year award and he says he absolutely deserved it over Mata'afa. Jason Hamilton calls in from Kansas City where the Huskies are about to play the Jayhawks in a big game for Mike Hopkins' squad. Softy is trying to figure out how excited to be about the Arena news and listeners react to it in Textimonials.
Jon Wilner joins Softy to break down yet another wild week in college football and to help us figure out what coaches are in each school now. Mike Florio checks in for what is normally a football segment but became a weird movie reference segment. We learned that Softy can't count in listening back to the bet payoff. Walter Jones is on talking Hawks.
Seahawks monster win over Philadelphia means some pain is coming Shockey's way after the bet with Softy on the game. Pete Carroll's day after press conference looks back at the big win for the Hawks that, luckily, didn't feature a lot in the injury department! Softy chats with Justin Christensen, the winner of the $10,000 from the Emerald Queen Casino's Fact or Fiction contest.
Softy has a chat with KJ Wright in the locker room after the game where KJ explains to Softy that the media is responsible for the beatdown on Philadelphia. An all-time Opponent Audio Recap takes center stage at the usual 4:20 time slot before Textimonials. It's still football season so Husky Football at 5 features Damon Huard today talking about the Huskies and the Fiesta Bowl against Penn State.
Terry Blount, formerly the Seahawks beat writer for ESPN.com, is filling in for Softy on a crazy GEICO Football Friday. Terry and Shockey talk about a wild day in college football, Tiger Woods' return to the golf course, and... oh yeah.. the Seahawks. Jimmy Kempski from PhillyVoice.com joins the show to talk about how he views the Eagles before their matchup on Sunday Night.
With Softy taking a day, Terry Blount has the reins on a GEICO Football Friday. Terry is talking Seahawks with Warren Moon and then Textimonials lets the listeners weigh in.
Husky Football at 5 continues even with Softy out and the regular season over. Chris Fetters joins Terry Blount (filling in for Softy today) to talk all things Husky. Curtis Crabtree joins Terry in-studio to break down the Seahawks as they get ready for their game on Sunday night against the Eagles.
With all of the injuries, Softy doesn't feel good about the Seahawks chances to make the playoffs this year. He wants to know if listeners are feeling the same way. In the locker room, Softy talks with Thomas Rawls about his status in the run game and how tough of a season it has been. Lee Sterling of Paramount Sports calls in to make his picks for the weekend.
Mike Holmgren joins Softy for his weekly show talking all things Seahawks and football. Mike shares some fun stories about Doug Pederson and his transition to Seattle along with a conversation about how the Seahawks matchup with the Eagles this week. Ryan Clark of the News Tribune is on for Husky Football at 5 to talk all things Dawgs.
Softy is worried that "these" Seahawks might finish with *only* one Super Bowl Championship with the way it's going right now. Can the Hawks beat the Eagles on Sunday? John Canzano from The Oregonian joins Softy to talk about the moves in Oregon of Jonathan Smith to the Beavers and rumors surrounding Willie Taggart.
We check in with Brian Schmetzer, the man in charge of the Sounders, to talk about all things Sounders as they prepare for their final leg of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday Night. Petros Papadakis is on for his weekly segment of silliness, nonsense, and balderdash. Textimonials react to Petros, the hawks, and Softy on the Sounders.
Rick Neuheisel begins our final hour talking about all the madness in the NCAA coaching world from Smith to OSU to Chip to UCLA and everything in between. Kevin Harlan's weekly visit is next on all things NFL, Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks, and funny voices. Shaun O'Hara of NFL Network joined Softy to break down the Hawks OL, Seahawks vs Eagles, and Eli Manning's treatment by the Giants.
