Starting at a very young age, Bundy set his sights on young college brunettes and would use methods of manipulation and coercion to get his victims into a vulnerable state. His unimaginably brutal methods of rape, torture and eventual violent murder are almost unparalleled and his fascination with death and seemingly psychopathic disregard for human life was well documented. DEEP DIVE - On this episode of Those Conspiracy Guys we talk about the most controversial conspiracy topic there is; a belief system that has brother fighting against brother and has lit the internet ablaze in the last few years with growing numbers of evangelists online reaching record numbers, we are talking about the theory of The Flat Earth. From knowledge almost forgotten from ancient maps and turn of the century enlightened thrill seeking scientists and sociologists, the theory of the flat earth has had an ebb and flow on society. Saying we lived on a globe was once heresy and then it was absolute truth, and in the modern age questioned again by late 19th century scientists and flat earth enthusiastsThe evolution of the world map was only as quick as the advancement of the technology that was used to create them. Ancient mariners had very rudimentary maps of their local area, favouring size for their own dominion of course. But new methods of cartography showed a world few had seen and left artefacts to cast doubt on the true shape of the planet. Modern theories include accusations of informational obfuscation and hidden taunting messages in the logos of government and enterprise organisations. Manipulating scientific measurement equipment and fudging the numbers on satellite imagery is the explanation for the hidden flat plane aspect of the earth and new accusations fly every day.Sea faring explorers both old and new have given in to the inexorable pull to circumnavigate  the globe, but when reaching Antarctica they invariably run into some problems. Either multi national legal prohibitions or physical hurdles which make navigation impossible. Antartica remains a mystery and a source of many spurious allegations. Hard science is even put into question in the crucible of the Flat Earth mentality. The sinking ship effect and other optical and physical illusions and malformities mean that the world we expect is not fully there when we actually go to investigate. On 24th November 1971 a man in a fancy suit and sunglasses stole $200,000 dollars from authorities after he hijacked a plane and then jumped from that plane with the money, never to be seen or heard from again.For forty years this crime has been unsolved and no one knows the identity of the gentleman thief. Some are putting out some pretty good guesses but they are all still fruitless. Its speculated that he was a military man with training; some say he worked for the airline; some even speculate that it was an inside job and he many never have existed at all!Comedian Chris Kent joins me to talk about DB Cooper and the strange tale of where this cash went and why he was never found! Speck killed 8 nurses in their dormitory in the Summer of 1966 and marked his place in history as one of the most brutal humans to ever live.Speck was born to raise hell and showed this from an early age. His manipulate and abusive step-father got Richard into bad habits early and before long he was committing petty crimes and being arrested. His first sexual assaults and even murders went largely unpunished and he was blessed with lucky escapes from the law by moving around the US Speck took his hostages and raped and murdered them over the course of an evening; one witness was left to idenitfy the crazed killer though. Cora Amurao, a nurse, was left alive to finger Speck in the dock while on trial. DEEP DIVE - On this episode of Those Conspiracy Guys we ride the King's Highway and break on through to tell the story of one of the most enigmatic rock stars of all time and a man known as much for his antics off stage as on, Jim Morrison. Born in 1943 to parents George and Clara, Jim grew up a military brat, being moved from town to town as his father, a naval Admiral, was promoted and moved post during the 40s and 50s. Not settling anywhere and having a disjointed upbringing, it was no wonder Jim was a dreamer and a prankster.He was a well read and gifted youth who was on the Dean's list and delighted in poetry and psychology. He went to study this in Florida after high school but swapped his yearning for universal truth for the California lifestyle by transferring to UCLA to study film. Here his bohemian artist streak was nurtured, as well as his notions of artistic integrity. In this film class he met Ray Manzarek, soon to be keyboard player for The Doors, and they started a band. They gigged all around California and eventually worked their way up the venue hierarchy to be signed by Elektra records, and the phenomenon began with TV appearances and topping the US charts.With fame came complications for a still very young Jim. His burgeoning alcoholism and new found penchant for psychedelics made routine and systematic control abhorrent. He had a healthy disdain for authority and wanted to test these limits. Experiments with live crowds at Doors shows, run-ins with the police as they toured the country and even some TV and musical experimentation left some people worried for Jim's sanity. This prolonged derangement of the senses left Jim in a vulnerable place and his long term girlfriend Pamela Courson was now addicted to heroin. Their turbulent private life started to spill out into the public and something had to give, and eventually did.Jim died at the tender age of 27 from heart-failure in a Paris apartment. Some say it was a heroin overdose as he and Pam had fled legal trouble in the US to live a life of semi anonymity in France. Jim had allegedly developed this drug habit recently and overdosed in a Paris nightclub and his death scene, some say, was fabricated to save face. Or others say that it was all fabricated and Jim never died at all and that he faked his death, as he often joked he would, and disappeared into obscurity at the height of his fame. DEEP DIVE - On this episode of Those Conspiracy Guys we don the Red Shield and crack the door on the vault that holds one of the biggest secrets in the world; the organisation that has control over everything we buy, sell, use and consume and we don't even truly know how it works; The Federal Reserve. Born of a turbulent financial climate in the years after the War of Independence, The Federal Reserve idea was one of stability and unity. The attempt by politicians and European bankers to consolidate the American banking businesses of the early 19th century in an effort to stabilise the dollar as currency was met with disdain by president and layman alike.After Andrew Jackson refused to use this system and led America to its first and only government budget surplus the War of 1812 and then the Civil War came and the economy needed an injection of funds to pay for the war effort. The North with its banking knowhow bamboozled the Western and Southern States were decimated at small banking businesses all went bankrupt trying to cover the debts and loans these banks held.After myriad financial crisis JP Morgan and his cohorts met at the famous Jekyll Island to draw up the plans for a more permanent and profitable solution. This Duck Hunt turned into the birth of the Fed and also of the shady banking practices that has kept the Fed so secret and the world economy reliant on the petrodollar.Questionable but necessary banking practices are needed to keep this financial system afloat. Quantitive Easing is one of the tools used to make sure the system doesn't collapse but its tantamount to robbing Peter to pay Paul on a global scale. Fractional Reserve lending too is critiqued to be a fundamentally flawed system and recent global economic crashes give us a notion of where this system of finance is headed.One family name who always crops up in matters like these are The Rothschilds and their influence over the Federal Reserve of America is not totally confirmed but to those who are aware it is undeniable. The creation of the IRS and The Federal Reserve simultaneously is also no coincidence and these forces together plan to keep America in a debt and spending cycleThe Fed doesn't just have the blood of the world's floundering economy on its hands; originators of the Federal Reserve Banking system have been accused of assassinating opposing President too. JFK alleged killed by banking agents after expressing distrust for the system; Abraham Lincoln too was vocal of his disdain after the war and was shot by a member of a dark cabal. DEEP DIVE - On this episode of Those Conspiracy Guys we don the Red Shield and crack the door on the vault that holds one of the biggest secrets in the world; the organisation that has control over everything we buy, sell, use and consume and we don't even truly know how it works; The Federal Reserve. Born of a turbulent financial climate in the years after the War of Independence, The Federal Reserve idea was one of stability and unity. The attempt by politicians and European bankers to consolidate the American banking businesses of the early 19th century in an effort to stabilise the dollar as currency was met with disdain by president and layman alike.After Andrew Jackson refused to use this system and led America to its first and only government budget surplus the War of 1812 and then the Civil War came and the economy needed an injection of funds to pay for the war effort. The North with its banking knowhow bamboozled the Western and Southern States were decimated at small banking businesses all went bankrupt trying to cover the debts and loans these banks held.After myriad financial crisis JP Morgan and his cohorts met at the famous Jekyll Island to draw up the plans for a more permanent and profitable solution. This Duck Hunt turned into the birth of the Fed and also of the shady banking practices that has kept the Fed so secret and the world economy reliant on the petrodollar.Questionable but necessary banking practices are needed to keep this financial system afloat. Quantitive Easing is one of the tools used to make sure the system doesn't collapse but its tantamount to robbing Peter to pay Paul on a global scale. Fractional Reserve lending too is critiqued to be a fundamentally flawed system and recent global economic crashes give us a notion of where this system of finance is headed.One family name who always crops up in matters like these are The Rothschilds and their influence over the Federal Reserve of America is not totally confirmed but to those who are aware it is undeniable. The creation of the IRS and The Federal Reserve simultaneously is also no coincidence and these forces together plan to keep America in a debt and spending cycleThe Fed doesn't just have the blood of the world's floundering economy on its hands; originators of the Federal Reserve Banking system have been accused of assassinating opposing President too.
