stand up comedian, activist and writer Kate Willett talks about how the death of her boyfriend, standup comedian Raghav Mehta pushed her to support medicareforall, fall in love with his friends she used to hate and turned into a Bernie Bro. Plus what she saw while canvassing in Iowa and New Hampshire, and what it's like being yelled at by Leftists online and liberals on the line, which is worse, how to convert liberals to the cause, why she likes bernie's yelling and what she wants people to know about Raghav. Despite Chris Matthews' insane claims that Sanders will have him shot in Central Park and wouldn't help someone one on the side of the road, Sanders is the first candidate who would help someone. Ask Amy Currotto, who he told to get out of the street, or Andrea Mitchell who was getting trampled, or the people who fainted at rallies he interrupted to get them help.
I chatted with organizer, artists and national Bernie Sanders surrogate Phillip Agnew about Iowa, the movement, how he evolved politically, that special Black and Jewish je ne sais quois, that special Muslim Bernie je ne sais quois and more! Plus I include some clips from an event that Phillip and I both took part in called "Class Warfare: The Future of Left Politics," organized by Harvard for Bernie and featuring two back to back panels: "“The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,” with Krystal Ball (The Hill, Rising), Meagan Day (Jacobin), Nomiki Konst (The Young Turks, the Nomiki Show) and me; and “Battle for the Soul of the Democratic Party,” with Dr. Cornel West (philosopher, author, Harvard professor), Michael Brooks (The Michael Brooks Show), Esha Krishnaswamy (activist and host of historic.ly) and Phillip. Plus Harvard for Bernie's Piper Winkler!
