Today's exclusive premiere comes from the duo off a special 20 year anniversary of Freerange Records. The label, run by Jamie ‘Jimpster’ Odell and Tom Roberts, has marking the occasion with the summer release of a carefully curated and lovingly assembled 20 track, five vinyl box set featuring exclusive new music from associates old and new, as well as with a worldwide events series. Few labels make it to twenty releases let alone twenty years strong. Often doing so without making any real fuss, now is the time that Freerange Records deserves its time in the spotlight, and this compilation more than proves that. PIV has been up and running since the eve of 2015, with a steady flow of releases along the way. Featured on his Namaimo release are four cuts of absorbing house music which marks his most impressive work to date. United by their Ibiza adventures and roots from the Leeds dance scene, Bradberry and Blevins create a concoction of old school House sounds and a dash of modern electronic disco. Bradberry and Blevins are no strangers to Culprit. PBR’s remix of Lula Circus was one of the label’s success stories of 2014, and Blevins’ ‘10 Miles’ was a standout on Culprit’s ‘Above The City’ compilation in 2013. Bradberry and Blevins premiere the title track - a moody, emotionally charged melodic hook, augmented with subtle acid touches and a memorable bass line riff that culminates into a satisfying crescendo. Synonymous with creatively-original and emotionally-charged DJ sets at revered NYC club the Paradise Garage, the curatorship of Larry Levan' sets became known as a genre in itself. This provided the earliest definition of what is now known as garage – the characteristics of which can still be heard in the genre to this day. Now, the quintessential Larry Levan compilation, "Genius of Time" captures this cultural figure as the prolific producer and remixer he was, while also being a joy to hear, bursting with full-blooded, timeless and life-affirming analogue euphony.
