Dan and Brian had the opportunity to sit down with John McMicken of Evergreen Cooperatives. Evergreen is a non-profit business incubator that focuses on building worker owned cooperatives. There businesses include: Evergreen Laundry, Evergreen Energy Solutions, and Green City Growers. We talk about what worker owned cooperatives are, how a non-profit starts for profits, what each of the businesses do, and how they impact the communities they serve.

Dan and Brian had the chance to sit down with Greg Schuck and his partner in crime and life, Rosemary, to talk about all things produce. Greg owns Basketeria, the West Side Market’s only organic-focused produce stand. Greg and his family have a unique history, Greg’s dad Greg has worked at the market for 44 years, and before that, his great uncle worked there for quite a while too. After you listen, go visit Greg and the other wonderful merchants at the West Side Market; so long as it’s not a Tuesday or Thursday.

Dan & Brian crawled out of the Jimmy DiMora Center for Excellence in Podcasting to head over to the Market Garden Brewhouse where they interviewed co-owner of Brad Pitt’s favorite brewery: Sam McNulty. The conversation goes from Sam growing up, what chickens and road cones have to do with each other, bicycling, beer, restaurants, and questions from the audience.

Alex & Brian sit down with Certified Bad Ass Pam McKee. Pam works as Development Director for NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio and serves as Co-Chair of the National Organization of Women (NOW) Cleveland. We talk about the fight at the statehouse for women’s equality, bodily autonomy, and safety; those same issues at a national and local stage as well.

Dan & Brian sit down with Pete Gulyas and Sarah Isenhart of Blue Arrow Records, an independent record label and record store. We talk about what it’s like to open a store… reluctantly, allegedly distribute music, and sandbagging right before a quiz. Alex & Brian sit down with Kerry McCormack, Councilman for Cleveland’s Ward 3. The ward covers Ohio City, Tremont, Downtown, and Stockyards. We talk about what it’s like to be on council, issues around the community, and some of Kerry’s plans for the future.
