 Basically…Run | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:05:22

Whether you are in pursuit of the rapidly shrinking portal that will allow you to return safely to your own relative time and place, or avoiding the grasp of some malicious alien race hell bent on tearing you atom from atom, if there’s one thing Whovians from all eras understand, it’s running. Either towards or away from danger, the act of getting one’s humanoid butt in gear is as essential a skill as escapology (thanks, Jo, just in time!), hand-to-hand […]

Classic Rewatch: The Sea Devils | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:52

This week, we slowly rise from the depths of main show hiatus to absorb the six-part aquatic adventure, 'The Sea Devils'. Pertwee and Manning are back in the Master's crosshairs, this time attempting to lure another reptilian race out of hibernation.

 Dreamcasting (from ReGeneration Who 3) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 56:52

This week, we call an audible in our planned GPR programming, and share with you all a panel discussion on wishful casting, recorded at (Re)Generation Who 3 in Baltimore. Joined by guests Tai Gooden, Don Klees, Heather McHale, and Ian McCann, we posit future casting for Doctor Who, including hypotheses about new characters under the Chibnall era, possible returns of classic characters, and since this was recorded a full two months before Whittaker's announcement, we enjoyed a raucous "Next Doctor" discussion.

Classic Rewatch: The Curse of Peladon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:04:58

This week, we lose at least ten minutes staring at a spinning mirror as we enjoy a rewatch of the Third Doctor classic, "The Curse of Peladon", joined by the delightful and insightful Charles Martin of The Happiness Patrol podcast. Chock-a-block full of great acting moments (particularly from Katy Manning), pivotal depictions of the Ice Warriors, and a tight, engaging script from Brian Hayles, we have more reasons to love this story than you can shake a broken spear shaft at.

Does This Smell Spoiled to You? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 54:32

This week, we take some time to look at the nature of spoilers as they have affected the Doctor Who program, in recent past, as well as present moment in the anticipation of Series 11.

Classic Rewatch: Day of the Daleks | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:08:24

Keir and Haley are joined by Don Klees to throw back a bottle of red, a few nibbles of exquisite gorgonzola, and enjoy "Day of the Daleks". Season 9 hits the ground running with bigger aspirations than the effects team could provide (and if you ask Jon Pertwee, fewer Daleks than the script required), but thanks to a present-day producer who wanted something more for the 21st century DVD release, we have an extraordinary "Special Edition" that provides what we feel is an applaudable enhancement, or 'nip and tuck', to the original Third Doctor and Jo Grant paradoxical adventure.

The Moffat Legacy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:09:39

That faint brogue. That kinky hair. That incredible knowledge of Whovian trivia. That uncanny ability to divide a fan base with a single line of dialogue. Oh, Mister Moffat, no matter what the world thinks of you in five, fifteen, or fifty years’ time, your contributions to Doctor Who will never be forgotten. One may love or loathe his writing. One may commend or condemn his executive decisions. But he is unquestionably a devoted and dedicated fan of the show, […]

Classic Rewatch: The Daemons | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:13:25

This week, we're joined by none other than Jeremy Radick (Gareth in the 1996 Doctor Who Movie) to enjoy a rewatch of the Third Doctor occult classic, "The Dæmons".

Gallifrey! The Musical! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:52

There's only one place where you'll see the most fantastic costumes, outlandish characters, unbelievable exploits, manic emotional upheaval, and tumultuous conflicts -- Camden, New Jersey! No, wait. Broadway? Getting closer, in a non-geophysical location sense -- GALLIFREY! This week, joined by Andy Hicks of the Coal Hill A/V Club, we destroy some perfectly nice, quiet down time by wondering what Doctor Who would be like if characters suddenly broke into song. Much like episodes of "The Monkees", "Galavant", or the odd NBC live attempt, we grab memorable moments from some of our favorite episodes, and think of who would take that opportunity to step forward into the limelight and belt out a tune. Andy even rewards us with one of the A/V Club's signature song parodies -- and you may never listen to Jefferson Timeship...er...Starship the same way again.

Classic Rewatch: Colony In Space | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 57:06

This week, we welcome friend Chris Kocher to join in our return to the GPR Classic Rewatch Series with "Colony In Space". The Master is back at his Season 8 shenanigans, and the Third Doctor and Jo have their hands full dealing with him, along with starving colonists, lizard-impersonating robots, three flavors of oddly crafted indigenous species, and a bunch of jack-booted mining thugs bent on stripping the planet of valuable resources. Oh, and did we mention a Doomsday Weapon? Yeah, there's one of those, too. Settle in to your launch seats, this one gets busy.

The Companion Exit Strategy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:18:01

This week, joined by Mike Solko of the TimeScoop podcast, we walk the list of modern Doctor Who companions, and discuss how fitting (or unfitting) their exit from the program suited the character. We agree on a few (Donna), disagree pretty emphatically on others (River), but as it happens so often on GPR, we gain a broader perspective of the impact these characters have on the audience, and how much the show has really come to mean to us all.

 It’s About Time | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:14:41

Joined by fellow podcasters Danica and Brandon of Doctor Whooch, we spend a full hour on the subject of the Thirteenth Doctor casting decision, looking at the impact of such a momentous step in the evolution of the show, making sense the reactions of the public, reviewing the career and talents of Ms. Whittaker, and considering the ways we might keep ourselves from going insane waiting until as late as 2019 for Series 11, and the beginning of this bold new era.

 Series 10 In Review | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:12:33

This week, we look back at the breadth of Series 10, and reflect on its entertainment and emotional effectiveness. Joined by friend of the cast Kathleen Schowalter, we unpack the themes, tones, and conveyed message of the season as a whole, wherever applicable. Friendly disagreements ensue, and differing opinions are acknowledged and respected, but very little blood is shed, honestly.

The Doctor Falls | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:00:29

This week, we draw the incredible tenth series of the renewed Doctor Who to a close (if you will) with "The Doctor Falls". We scream for respite from the pain of Bill's predicament, and get a most unexpected response. We beg for the resolution of a millennia-old struggle between Doctor and Master, and are handed an outcome that leaves us agape. We hope for a closure to the Twelfth Doctor's struggle to rediscover himself, a 'good man', renewed as the champion of those who cry out for help, anywhere and at any time, and find the most unlikely guide steps forward to aid in that last journey. Christmas of 2017 is going to be one very melancholy holiday, indeed.

World Enough and Time | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:11

This week, we release our grip on the edges of our seats long enough to reflect on "World Enough and Time", the penultimate episode of Series 10, and the first of an unofficial trilogy leading up to the end of Moffat's tenure as showrunner, and the close of Peter Capaldi's time as the Twelfth Doctor.
