Robin taped this week’s show from a bookstore in Charlotte, North Carolina, site of the last stop on her nationwide tour to promote her new book Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors. She’s traveled the country with a few of the animal actors and the trainers featured in the book, and has met many wonderful animal lovers across America. This week’s show features special guests Christina and Taylor Potter, the trainers of Hudson, the Golden Retriever star of Our Idiot Brother and "Saturday Night Live"! The Potters were with Robin in Charlotte and at many of the other stops along the way. Listen in as they talk about the tour and why the book makes a fabulous holiday gift. Robin celebrates the Thanksgiving holiday with two very special people: Don and Debbie Grommet, who have a lot to be thankful for this year. Their son, Specialist Brent Grommet was supposed to adopt his former partner, Military Working Dog Matty upon retirement, but due to a mix-up with paperwork, Matty instead went to another family. After many months apart, they were finally reunited, and Brent’s parents join our show this week to talk about what this reunion means to them and their son.

Robin comes at you live from Capitol Hill in Washington, site of American Humane Association’s congressional briefing on the importance of serving a Humane Table this holiday season. On this week’s show she chats live with farmers and food company executives committed to raising animals humanely and also speaks with 'Top Chef Masters' season 5 winner Chef Douglas Keane on what it means for chefs to serve humanely raised food. Chef Keane also shares a delicious new recipe he created just for the event. It will be a tasty episode!

For a special Veterans Day edition of the show, Robin comes at you live from the streets of New York City just moments before taking part in the 2014 Veterans Day Parade where American Humane Association honored the importance of dogs to the nation’s military and their hero handlers on the other end of the leash. For this week’s show she interviews many of the guests joining her on the float, including 'Law & Order SVU' star Ice-T - an army veteran himself - and his wife Coco! Also appearing on the show are several veterans who were on the float and who American Humane Association helped reunite with their military dogs earlier this year. Finally, Mrs. Lois Pope, the nation’s foremost advocate for helping disabled veterans and an American Humane Association board member, and the woman who generously made American Humane Association’s involvement in the parade possible, was interviewed about her two passions in life: helping animals and helping our veterans. Robin sits down with NBC’s Jill Rappaport to discuss her unique 'Jill Rappaport’s Pies 4 Paws' campaign, which is a sweet way to raise money for some laudable organizations working to protect our animal friends. Then Robin’s joined by Donna Lawrence, the mom of the 2014 American Hero Dog, Susie! Donna discusses what this title means to her and what her plans are for the Hero Dog Awards TV broadcast on Hallmark Channel on Thursday October 30 at 8 ET/PT, 7 Central.

Celebrating the release of her new book, Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors, this week’s show is all about Hollywood’s animal actors. Up first is the husband-and-wife founders of the Angel Animals Network and co-authors of Animal Stars, Allen and Linda Anderson. Later in the show, Robin speaks with Hollywood animal trainer Christina Potter - whose dogs have made starring appearances in movies, television, and commercials - about what it’s like to prepare an animal star for the role of a lifetime.

Robin finishes up her four-part series interviewing the eight 2014 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards finalists. Up first is Justin Davis of the San Antonio, Texas Fire Department, the partner of Kai, winner of the Arson Dog category. Together, the pair have investigated some 200 arson cases in the San Antonio, Texas area. Later in the show, Corporal Brittney Neer of the Winchester, Virginia Police Department discusses her partner Kota, winner of the Law Enforcement Dog category. While responding to a burglary call in January, Kota fell and injured himself badly but helped Brittney and the other police officers complete the call.

Robin hosts the third of her four-part series interviewing the eight 2014 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards finalists. Up first is Michelle Krawczyk, the mom of JJ, winner of the Service Dog category. Michelle’s daughter KK has been diagnosed with a rare disease and JJ is able to use her powerful nose to alert Michelle when KK’s life might be in danger. Later in the show, Denise Corliss is interviewed about Bretagne, winner of the Search and Rescue Category. Bretagne has had a long, distinguished career, including a deployment to Ground Zero in the days after 9/11, now retired, she has a new job: teaching kids to read.

Up first is Linda Hickey, the mom of Xena the Warrior Puppy, winner of the Emerging Hero category. Xena is an animal abuse survivor and has formed an extraordinary connection with Linda’s son, who has been diagnosed with autism. Later in the show, Marine vet Matt Hatala is interviewed about his dog, Military Dog category winner Chaney, who served multiple tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan as an IED detection dog.

Robin begins her four-episode series of interviewing all eight 2014 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards finalists. First up is Donna Lawrence, whose pit bull Susie represents the Therapy Dog category. Together, Donna and Susie worked for the passage of 'Susie’s Law' in North Carolina, which brings about harsher penalties for animal abusers. Up next is Staff Sgt. Mike Malarsie, who works with Xxon, the winner of the Guide/Hearing Dog category. Xxon helped Mike become the only blind active duty airman in the Air Force and together they are working to bring more recognition to these special dogs.

On this week’s special show, Robin Ganzert reports live from American Humane Association’s Capitol Hill briefing about the importance of reunification and retirement of military working dogs. She’s joined by a number of special guests including Marine Sgt. Deano Miller and his recently reunited dog Thor; Army Staff Sgt. James Harrington and his recently reunited dog Ryky; Kristen Maurer, whose organization Mission K9 Rescue is helping to bring back these dogs; Ruby Ridpath, the mother of 2013 Military Hero Dog of the Year CWD Carlos; and American Humane Association Board Chair John Payne.
