Their son, Specialist Brent Grommet was supposed to adopt his former partner, Military Working Dog Matty upon retirement, but due to a mix-up with paperwork, Matty instead went to another family. After many months apart, they were finally reunited, and Brent’s parents join our show this week to talk about what this reunion means to them and their son.

Also appearing on the show are several veterans who were on the float and who American Humane Association helped reunite with their military dogs earlier this year. While responding to a burglary call in January, Kota fell and injured himself badly but helped Brittney and the other police officers complete the call.
