If we look at "saving the planet" through our human lens of limited time, resources, and energy, it looms of failure. But if God didn't know that it could be accomplished THROUGH HIM, He wouldn't have charged us with His great commission!
There might be times when God’s provision, or unique participation in our life rains down. However, it's His grace (sung to the tune of "Your Grace Is Enough"!) that sustains us each and every day. His gift of salvation through Christ is all we ever need or could ever ask for!
What your "exit strategy"? Sure, there's an exit door to get you to the other side (being saved by God's grace through Christ). But on your journey toward that door, there can be a "life strategy" as well, filled with joy, discipleship, and purposeful living!
It really is true: In this world, it's all about who we know. Or should I say, Who we know. We're "rock stars", because we're grafted into God's family tree through Christ! Struggles, trials, tragedy... NOTHING can keep us from ultimate victory in HIM!
Being a Christ follower means also following His lead, to lead others in 2 ways: lead them to Him, then lead them in their knowledge of Him. Then they too can go lead others in those 2 ways!
What is it, that we refuse to "throw overboard"? Money? Pride? Unforgiveness? No need for God? Until we release EVERYTHING to God, that one single strand is enough to keep us from living the fullest freedom in Christ possible!
When we invited Jesus into our heart, He didn't come into our "box" to stay there He wants us to take His message out of our box, and into our world. It's up to us to let others know that they can have His hope, love, and forgiveness come into their box!
We've all heard the Bible story of Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and the mysterious Fourth Person in the fire. What a powerful symbol, that even in the "fires" that we go through today, we'll NOT be consumed, because God's in there with us, protecting His beloved!
Just as a parent is pleased when a child obeys them and desires to do things for them, God's pleased when His child obeys and serves Him! When we live our lives to please God, we'll be amazed by the ways He uses us to touch others, and He rewards us all the while!
All the pleasures of this world will never fix our own brokenness. Only God can change us from the inside out. But we must be doers of His word and not just hearers. To receive His joy, peace, and hope, we must put into action what He instructs us in scripture to do!
We're all going to die. But not all of us are certain of what happens after that. Christ’s sacrifice took on the payment of our sins, which will result in being with Him in Heaven after our death! And our "death wish" for those around us should be for that same joyful eternity.
The Bible lays out how the Christ follower should live life, modeling for others what it looks like to serve God, and showing them what He’s done in and through us!
The worry that we often feel is a result of our lack of trust in God. When we live our lives choosing to trust Him, rejoicing in whatever circumstances, His supernatural peace can guard us from anxiety.
The same God who commanded light to invade the darkness when He created the universe, He creates light in our hearts through a relationship with Jesus, so we can then invade the darkness of this world with the light of His glory and grace.
There might be times when we trade our original plan for momentary pleasure, and that can be a huge mistake that leads to grave consequences. Yes, God is a God of mercy and grace, but let's remember to keep our focus on Him, and know that every choice we make has an impact on ourselves and others.
