This is counterinsurgency to criminalize the entire population of young Black people and other peoples of color.  America's new system of racism and organizing against it | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Download Podcast  More than half a century after historic court rulings and legislation that outlawed school segregation and extended voting and civil rights to black and other people of color, there is a new system of institutional racism in America. The right-wing dominated U.S. Supreme Court in recent years has gutted the 1965 Voting Rights Act and upheld various state laws and ballot initiatives that effectively deny people of color of the right to equal access to a college education. Meanwhile, super-rich white supremacists use their wealth to help racist white politicians get elected to Congress and state legislatures. Join us for a discussion about the new system of institutional racism in America and what must be done to organize against it.

Many have become businesspeople, politicians, political pundits, or administrators of nonprofit organizations. How did this happen and why did this happen, and what does it mean now? On this week's Black Autonomy Federation Radio, we talk about "What Happened To The Left: From Revolution To Reformism".

Direct Democracy vs. Electoral Politics II | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Download Podcast April 5, 2014This week on Black Autonomy Federation Radio we will once again broach the topic of "Direct Democracy as an Alternative to Electoral Politics". Direct Democracy part 2. What was Participatory Democracy in the 1960's and why has corporate power and money has killed liberal reformist politics in this period? The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, Students for a Democratic Society, Black Panther Party and other radical movements in the 1960's pressed for direct democracy and "all power to the people", rather than the gov't and corporations dictating the social and political life of the country. What does all this mean, and what can we do about it on the grassroots level?
