Glen gives us a sneak peak into the book. Glen Tate and I  discuss the recent announcement by the Obama administration to roll back the employer mandate portion of Obama care until 2015. The original deadline was 2014. This may be a sign that things are much worse in Washington than what is commonly thought. We also talk about the recent language by the Federal Reserve to begin tapering Quantitative Easing. The move to reduce the amount of free money sloshing around is tantamount to taking away the punch bowl at a party. The news sent the party goers scrambling and interest rates spiked from 1.6% on the 10 year Treasury Note in May to a recent high of 2.71%. The increase represents a 69% increase in the benchmark rate. This is possibly another sign that things are about to come off the tracks. In the interview, Glen Tate gives us his view on the precious metals market. The gold to oil price ratio is 11 to 1 when compared with the brent crude price per barrel. Sunday Prepper Bible Study- The Antichrist The Antichrist is a popular topic among Christians and preppers these days. We see ever increasing disturbances in the weather and rumblings in the earth. When asked by His disciples about the signs that will signal the end of the age, Jesus says in Matthew 24:7 "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places." The Greek word for "earthquakes" is "sicemos". Sicemos was used to describe earthquakes as well as other atmospheric disturbances. The Strong's Dictionary definition is "a commotion, that is, (of the air) a gale, (of the ground) an earthquake:-earthquake. tempest." So this word could very easily include tornadoes and hurricanes. We have certainly seen  many tornadoes this past week and our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.  Knowing that it is possible that we are living in the last days, people begin to speculate on who the Antichrist might be. Prepper Recon Podcast- Interview with Steve Gorman of Patriot K9 Services. Today's guest on the Prepper Recon Podcast is Steve Gorman of Patriot K9 Services. Patriot K9 Services trains German Shepards and Dutch Shepards for explosives detection and personal protection.  Patriot Dog K9 Services worked with the US military in Afghanistan and Iraq training dogs and their handlers to find Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). The dogs keen sense of smell allows them to find explosive materials that would not be easily detectable by other means. The dogs trained by Patriot K9 Services found several tons of explosive materials. This resulted in many lives being saved from a catastrophic end. Personal protection or explosives detection dogs are also available to domestic law enforcement agencies. As Steve points out in the interview, a home protection dog is very sensitive to sounds and disturbances even when they are asleep. For preppers, a retreat dog is ever vigilant and not dependent on electricity as many types of alarms. They will also free up time that would other wise be spent standing guard for other chores like gardening, cooking or cutting wood. There are several advantages to have a  personal protection dog in addition to firearms home defense. We  discuss how unlike a gun, a personal protection dog is safe to have around children. Currently, dogs are not regulated like guns. And, if you don't wake up when an intruder enters your home, the gun won't do you any good.
