At the Movies with the Roomies

The guys return and a lively debate breaks out.  They begin by discussing the merits of Wes Anderson movies and meander to discussing George Lucas, bad movie accents, and more.  Then they get into the movie of the podcast, Dr. Strangelove, and its under-appreciated genius.  They wrap up with Will cursing the Oscars and delving into some movie news.

Fresh from their new media coverage, the guys do a small dive into Billy Wilder, focusing on the favorite films. Rob also gives Will a movie challenge in response to watching Frank, and the guys wrap up by discussing really depressing remake news.

We've got a meaty episode for you.  The roommies begin the latest episode by tackling the 2015 Oscar nominations.  And everything is not awesome with the best picture category.  Then they move on to a discussion of the manliest movies of all time, and invite you to share your thoughts.  Along the way, Will waxes poetically about Natty Bo, Robert tries to convert Will to soccer hooliganism, and Alex comes in to shame everyone with her common sense knowledge.

I promise we don't actually spend 20 minutes talking about Frozen.  Instead, one of us gives a review of the new movie Inherent Vice, we debate whether Clint Eastwood deserves the respect he still gets, and why video on demand is not a viable path for releasing new movies.Movies recommended this week - Kinky Boots and The Trip to Italy

Happy New Year from ATMWTR!  We kick off the year with Robert giving William a surprise topic: best movies about or involving Baltimore.  The movies we recommend are worth a listen.  Also Will discusses seeing It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World and The Wind and the Lion and we go over the movie news from the week.

We are back.  After a week off due to illness, the guys give the listeners a special treat by doing their now-annual movie preview for 2015.  After discussing Sony and a black James Bond, the gents go month-by-month to highlight to movies to see and movies to avoid this year.  Note: Due to a recording problem, Ant-Man was omitted from this podcast.  Your co-hosts know it is coming out, our discussion was just unfortunately eliminated.

Today we kick off our month dedicated to movie musicals! No wait come back!  It will be fun.  We begin by discussing the early movie musicals including Duck Soup and 42nd Street as well as a little film called The Wizard of Oz.  Then we dive into the trailers that have been making the rounds, and we realize Robert hates anything cool or is trying really hard to be a trailer hipster.

Thanksgiving means Plane Trains Automobiles... and what else? The guys take a look at some other movies involving Thanksgiving as well as some personal favorites to help them get ready for Christmas.  Tonight is a short episode to help them rest up for a long one next week and a month dedicated to... well you have to listen and find out!
