Summary: When we started this venture a few years ago it was intended for aquarium hobbyists and water related topics......But there is more to fish keeping and the hobby, there is a passion for the beauty of life and all that Nature has to offer. So many amazing and beautiful plants and animals are being destroyed at an alarming rate. Habitat destruction taking place non-stop. Conservation, preservation and habitat are of huge interest on our show. We are going to be doing more youth oriented programs and things that we hope will help save all the amazing things that life has to offer.

On Tuesday July 24th 2012 10 PM EST, 9 PM CST, 7 PM PST, The Under The Sea Radio Show is scheduled to present a discussion about the Shell Dwelling Cichlids of Lake Tanganyika. Discussion will range from their natural habitats in the Lake, the reasons why these fish have adapted to using snail shells, plus much more information about these interesting Lamprologine Cichlids. Mr. Ray Owczarzak will be part of the panel to discuss this interesting group of fish that many cichlidophiles are now keeping in the tropical fish hobby.
On Saturday July 21st 2012, 4 PM EST, 3 PM CST, 1 PM PST Mr. Steve Allen of the Boston Aquarium Society, The Boston Reefers Society and The Boston Guppy Club will be on the show to discuss some of the methods to being prepared to set up a fish room in your home, or garage. Learn about some inexpensive ways to having many aquariums while dealing with issues of plumbing, heating and electricity that the hobbyist may encounter. Also tips upon aquarium stands, size of aquariums in relationship to the fish that the hobbyist may want to breed.
Dr. Allen Riggs - Veternarian - ATOLL Program On Friday July 20th 2012, at 10 PM EST, 9 PM CST, 7 PM PST and 4 PM HST The Under the Sea Radio Show is pleased to have scheduled Dr. Allen Riggs for a discussion about the ATOLL water quality and maintaining proper aquaculture systems with a concern for biosecurity. Mr. Ray Owczarzak a professional aquarist that has worked for the Shedd Aquarium and the National Aquarium in Baltimore will be part of a panel for this discussion about the importance of aquaculturists and aquarists to know about biosecurity in aquariums and aquaculature systems. Aquarists should also know about proper quarantining methods and systems and this discussion will be interesting for the Under The Sea Radio Show listeners!

The Peacock Cichlids of Lake Malawi On Monday July 16th 2012 at 10:30 EST, 9:30 CST, 7:30 PST As part of a series of discussions about Cichlids from the Rift Valley Lakes, Mr. Ray Owczarzak a professional aquarist will be on the Under The Sea Radio Show to discuss the haplochromine Genus known as Aulonacara. The Auloncara group are known as the Peacock Cichlids from Lake Malawi. Perhaps some of the most beautiful and colourful species of Cichlids come from the Rift Valley Lakes in Africa and with the common name given to this group Peacock (Refering to Birds) the comment about their beauty may not be to far from the truth.
On Saturday July 14th at 10 pm est,9 pm cst and 7 pm pst. The Under The Sea Radio Show will be presenting an episode about fossilized fish and the study of palentology. Palentologist and aquarist Mr. Ken Mckeighen will be our guest for this discussion
On Thursday July 12th 2012,at 10 pm est,9 pm cst and 7 pm pst Kathy Deutsch has agreed to emcee the show episode for the American Cichlid Association Convention live from Indianopolis.
On Monday July 9th at 10 PM EST, 9 PM CST, 7 PM PST Mr Ray Owczarzak has agreed to do another show in the Monster Fish series. The discussion will be about the facts and fictions about the Candiru or Tooth Pick Fish. Many myths get spread around and facts are often twisted by those that tell the stories. As the Under The Sea Radio Show promotes research it is interesting what the hosts can come up with about a subject such as Monster Fish... Do some research on your own you never know what you can find.

On Saturday July 7th at 10 pm est,9 pm cst and 7 pm pst,Kathy Deutsch former employee of Beldts Aquarium will be having a discussion about wholesaling tropical fish and plants.
On Thurday July 5th at 10 pm est,9 pm cst and7 pm pst Professional Aquarst Ray Owczarzak will be on to discuss thre Haploshromis Genus.
Monday July 2nd 2012 at 10 PM EST, 9 PM CST, 7 PM PST. The Under The Sea Radio Show is proud to present another episode in the series Biotope Aquariums in conjunction with Aquarium International The Freshwater Magazine. This episode will be a special episode as Mr Ted Judy from Aquarium International will be on the panel discussing biotope aquariums in the Cameroons. Not all aquariums have to be big to be Biotope Aquariums and the fish that Mr Judy has selected is Pelvicachromis taenatus. Discussion will be about the type of biotope that these fish come from in nature and the best way to represent this type of habitat in the home aquarium.
