Special Guest: Djenaba A. Joseph, MD, MPH, is board certified in internal medicine and is a Commander in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. She is the Medical Director of CDC's Colorectal Cancer Control Program (CRCCP). http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/crccp/about.htm The CRCCP provides funding to 25 states and 4 tribes across the United States for five years with a goal to increase colorectal (colon) cancer screening rates among men and women aged 50 years and older from about 64 percent to 80 percent in the funded states by 2014. An increase in screening rates will reduce illness and death from colorectal cancer. Dr. Joseph completed her undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan's Medical School, and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health. She completed her residency in general internal medicine at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The Harriet Tubman Journey Committee is presenting the Inaugural Delaware Harriet Tubman Commemorative two mile walk, ride, run and race event for the family on Sunday, March 10, 2013 (Harriet Tubman Day), to recognize the 100th Anniversary of  Conductor Araminta “Harriet” Tubman's death. Often called Moses, Tubman is known for her daring resistance against the institution of slavery.  Her life story is amongst the uppermost profiles of courage and bravery in American history. The Inaugural events are part of the “Ten for the Tenth” days of activities from March 1 to March 10 to honor Ms. Tubman’s contributions and legacy.  The events include a two mile walk/run in northern Delaware at Dravo Plaza on the Wilmington Riverfront, a motorcycle caravan riding from the PA border to the Riverfront and a14 mile relay from Sandtown at the Maryland/DE border to Camden, Delaware. Samuel Bazawule AKA Blitz the Ambassador Hip-hop was the soundtrack for Samuel Bazawule growing up in Accra, Ghana; later, it gave him his own voice; today, performing as Blitz the Ambassador, he is using hip-hop to “give others a voice.” Blitz began his music theory “training” by memorizing raps and studying the masters Chuck D. (front man for Public Enemy), Rakim, and KRS-One. He immigrated, in 2001, and earned degrees, in business management and marketing. Blitz has released two full-length albums, Stereotype (2009) and Native Sun (2011); as visual accompaniment to the latter, he wrote and co-directed a short film of the same name, which he calls “a true representation of who I am.” Filmed in Ghana and scored with music from the album, it follows the wanderings of an orphan boy as he learns to be the master of his fate.  His musical collaborations include those with Grammy Award-nominated duo Les Nubians, JUNO Award-winning Shad, and Chuck D.. His proudest achievement, though, was the homecoming concert he performed with his full band in Accra in 2011, ten years after he left. In addition, she provides direct training to school districts and educators to improve their response to incidents of abuse. Jasmine joined Break the Cycle in 2010 as Youth Programs Coordinator and also serves as the Supervisor of the Loveisrespect National Youth Advisory Board. Break the Cycle is a leading national voice for the prevention of dating violence among teens and young adults. Michael who is American lived in Italy for some time to prepare for this film went from speaking only English to speaking Italian for his role. Michael's film career started in 2009. Michael's first film in America is LUV which he starred in along side Common and directed by Sheldon Candis.
