Scripture: Genesis 21:1-21 Senior Pastor Jeff Manion teaches on the story of Isaac’s birth and the aftermath. Through this story, we see that even in the midst of family conflict or rejection, we can believe God is wise, God is good and God can be trusted. Genesis 21:1-21

Through this story, we see that shortcuts to God’s plan, even culturally acceptable ones, typically lead to significant problems. Scripture: Genesis 15 Teacher Pastor Aaron Buer discusses God’s covenant with Abram. Using an ancient near eastern ritual, God seals his relationship with Abram. Through this story, we see that our relationship with God is not dependent upon earning or deserving his favor, but upon the work of Jesus on the cross. God’s covenant with Abram foreshadows the work of Jesus on the cross. Genesis 15.

Through this conversation, we see that it is crucial for us to trust God both in the desert and when things are going well.
