I am what my kids call old school when it comes to many things, don't know if that is an insult or not. My children say they think I a tough too but I just don't see that, if something needs to be done then do it. Listener Email: Jon says:  I love your show.  I'm a Christian cop and a so-so competitive shooter.  I've been in 4 police shootings and I've been forced to take peoples lives.  I live by the gun. Jesus Christ is Lord over my life and sometimes I fear guns have become idols to me.  About 10 years ago, I got rid of most of my guns.  I gave them away to friends and fellow cops.  I had to prove they weren't my master.  I also got rid of the TV and haven't got one since.  It was a little awkward because friends and family thought I was going to kill myself.  I had to reassure them of stability to get them to accept the gifts. About 5 years ago, I got selected for rifle school on the department.  I didn't really want to do it, but after the school I became a gun nut extraordinaire.  I'm afraid it is an example of when a demon is purged, everything is swept clean but the demon returns with 7 more and things are much worse for the person after the demons return. My family and I call it Gun Procurement Syndrome (GPS) Signs and symptoms: -owning more than one gun you haven't fired. -searching through gun magazines for some motivation. -You don't know how many guns you have or you have more than 5 and you know the exact number. -The deceitfulness of your heart convinces you you need another gun for such and such purpose because of such and such reason. -Filling out the paperwork to buy a new gun is an emotional release that brings comfort. Remedies: -refamiliarize yourself with an old friend from the gunsafe. -clean a dirty gun -go shooting   may God bless you and draw you close.   Brice says:  “I just recently got my CHL, and part of our state law requires that permission be obtained before carrying in a house of worship. Because I recognize the vulnerability of churches to predators, I dearly want to carry in church. However, I come from and attend an extremely conservative church that is traditional pacifist (I kind of broke the mold). I was wondering if you had any suggestions for how to broach the subject of church carry to the leaders who have almost certainly never been asked about this idea.”   *Announcement* (Mike and Zack transitioning off the show)   Weekly Bible Verse: James 5:13-16 “Is anyone among you in trouble?
