It's that weekend of the year where little pirates, princesses, heroes, and ghouls visit the Ogden Nature Center for Creatures of the Night. This annual Halloween themed wildlife event is family fun for all ages. What better way to introduce your kids to the wonders of nature while maintaining an excuse to dress-up like their favorite fantasy or cartoon character? Brandi Bosworth, Special Projects Coordinator for the Center, came on the Ogden Outdoor Adventure Show to share this year's updates to the wildly successful event. Listen to the interview here:

Joining Silveria, was Greg Lazarus, the Flowboarding League of the World Operations Manager. This weekend's festivities include concerts, a free athlete meet and greet, and free viewing of the event. It is open to the public. Top international competitors and teams from Europe, Asia, and U.S.A. are traveling to Ogden, Utah for the prestigious world championship title. Ogden Everest summiter's Will Calton and Tom Burton shaking hands after accepting a community award from the Ogden Mayer for their accomplishments. Our first episode of Fall 2012 included an interview with legendary alpinist, Douglas Scott. Doug was the first to summit the Southwest Face of Everest back in 1975. He has also summited 40 different peaks, half of which were either new routes or first ascents. Doug began climbing at the age of 12 with first documented leads in 1953. He still climbs today, "with a little help from his friends." He climbed Targo Ri (6572m), Tibet in 2000, and was the president of the Alpine Club. We also had Jen Leininger from the Ogden Valley Winter Sports Foundation in studio briefly. The OVWSF along with the GOAL Foundation helped bring Doug Scott to Ogden for a special slideshow presentation. Watch for the OVWSF annual ski swap October 26 - 28th. Bob 8 Betsy Risner, H2O Overdrive organizers and racers The H2O Overdrive Summer Series is July 27-29th. This three day event includes a three and five mile flat-water race, a Weber River whitewater SUP race, and an 8-ball kayak river race. Race organizers Bob and Betsy Risner phoned into the OOA Show to give us the low-down on participating athletes, tips and tricks on how to race well, and how the public can demo boards.
