Fanon Hutchinson: Real Men of LA | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:50:00

Please join us as we welcome Fanon Hutchinson to discuss his upcoming show, "Real Men of LA." Real Men of L.A. is the brainchild of a husband and father of three children ranging from 8-18 years old. I wanted to create a reality show based around men from the non-Hollywood side of Los Angeles who have everyday struggles that most working class Americans can relate to, while showing the side of Los Angeles that most people (outside of California) don't ever get to see.  The subjects of the show will be, but not limited to, African-American males but I want to also include men of other races as well.  The premise of the show is to shadow 5 men and their families as they go through their daily lives, chronicling the trials and tribulations of fatherhood and marriage while living in the busy metropolis of Los Angeles, Ca. The locations that we want to focus on will be the areas south of Hollywood and Beverly Hills, as to showcase the more "real" side of Los Angeles. The types of men and families that we will be looking for will be men who are between the ages of 28-45, preferably either married or divorced because we want men who have gone through and continue to go through the experience of being a working class parent and husband to be able to show our audience an authentic slice of life that I feel is not being showcased on any current reality shows. We will discuss positive, black male role models and why they are needed. Are you a positive, black male role model? What are some examples of positive, black role models? The dial in number is 310-982-4273 and press 1 to speak with the host. You can also Skype to the show.
