Leadership in the Black Community | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:31:00

Please join us Sunday at 10AM CST as we discuss we leadership, or the lack thereof, in the Black community. Has the current leadership failed us?  Why or why not? Is it time for the current leadership to share the roles or vacate?  It's not as though we need their permission. What type of leadership is needed in the Black community? Where do we start? Has the #Ferguson uprising ignited a kindling fire? What do we need in terms of resources?  Who are our true allies?  Have some of our trusted allies betrayed us? Where are the Democrats? Why are some wealthy Blacks telling us to stop protesting and go home? Is prayer the answer? Why is there a deafening silence in the secular community?  Why do some of these people take our loyalty for granted?  Some feel entitled to it. Is it time for a change?  What? Who? Why? Where do we go from here? Why are the Millennials so important to this paradigm shift? Let's talk about.  Open discussion.  Open chatroom this week. The dial in number is 310-982-4273 and press 1 to speak with the host.

Theodore W. Allen Theodore W. Allen's "The Invention of the White Race," with its focus on racial oppression and social control, is one of the twentieth-century's major contributions to historical understanding. This two-volume classic (Vol. 1: "Racial Oppression and Social Control" and Vol. 2: "The Origin of Racial Oppression in Anglo-America") details how the "white race" was invented as a ruling-class social control formation and a system of racial oppression was imposed in response to labor solidarity in the wake of Bacon's Rebellion (1676-77), how the "white race" was created and maintained through "white race" privileges conferred on laboring class European-Americans relative to African-Americans, how these privileges were not in the interest of African-Americans or laboring class European-Americans, and how the "white race" has been the principal historic guarantor of ruling-class domination in America.

Please join Alfred, Karl, and Kim Friday evening as we discuss a variety of issues and topics. The complexities of being LGBTQ in the black community. Homophobia in the black community.  The black community should NOT bear the burden of being labeled homophobic.  This is primarily a tactic that is being used to divert attention from the systemic racism in the LGBTQ community.  The black community is being scapegoated. There is homophobia in the black religious community that needs to be addressed and called out. There is homophobia in the black secular community that needs to be addressed and called out. Same gender loving athletes should NOT be publicly shamed for being themselves. Critical analysis of "God's Not Dead." Is there any validity in Don Sterling's assessment of wealthy blacks not doing enough for the black community? ""Jews, when they get successful, they will help their people. And some of the African-Americans, maybe I'll get in trouble again, they don't want to help anybody," Sterling told interviewer Anderson Cooper on Monday. " What say you?
