Canadian recording Reggae artiste Tasha T has stormed into the new year with the release of a hard-hitting, socially conscious single "In A Di Jungle" produced by iconic reggae producer Mikey Bennett.The single, released this month on the "RasVibe Records" label, is the first from her highly-anticipated album, "Real Talk" which is currently in the final stages of production."The song warns about the consequences of choosing the path of a gangster. Through this song, I want to show my support for the ongoing Stop the Violence movement in Jamaica and across the world. I am reaching out to the youth of the world telling them to stay away from violence and crime. In 2012, she served as the musical ambassador for the Read Across Jamaica Foundation, an organization whose mission is to introduce creative and interactive methods of reading that encourage children to enjoy literature. During that period, she visited over 20 primary schools in Jamaica, participating in reading activities and providing words of encouragement.The single, 'In A Di Jungle' was recorded at Grafton Studios and produced by the legendary Mikey Bennett, dubbed by music insiders as the "Quincy Jones of Reggae music". The song features exciting vocal arrangements and crisp vocal phrasings - Mikey Bennett's signature production style - and FM radio has already responded well to the song."The early feedback has been encouraging, we are going all out with it. Trench Town is a neighborhood located in the parish of St. Andrew which shares municipality with Kingston, the capital and largest city of Jamaica. In the 1960s Trench Town was known as the Hollywood of Jamaica. Today Trench Town boasts the Trench Town Culture Yard Museum, a visitor friendly National Heritage Site presenting the unique history and contribution of Trench Town to Jamaica. Trench Town is the birthplace of rocksteady and reggae music, as well as the home of reggae and Rastafari ambassador Bob Marley. The neighborhood gets its name from its previous designation as Trench Pen, 400 acres of land once used for livestock by Daniel Power Trench, an Irish immigrant of the 18th century (descendants of the Earls of Clancarty). The Trench family abandoned the land in the late 19th century. It is a common misconception that the name comes from the large open storm-water drain that runs through the neighbourhood in the middle of Collie Smith Drive. Trench Town is home to the communities of Wilton Gardens [Rema], Federal Gardens, Arnette Gardens [Jungle], Havana, Buckers and others. Trench Town today is also the home of two of Jamaica's top Premier League football club teams, Arnette Gardens and Boys' Town.

Water House Reggae Dynasty with Garth Dennis Of Black Uhuru Garth Dennis has been in the entertainment industry for over 40 years. He has been witness to the great Jamaican singers, songwriters and musician of the Caribbean. Joe Higgs the ‘Father of Reggae' was a mentor and family member. His sister Joan Dennis is of the famed 60's duo ‘Andy and Joey' who had the monster hit, Your Wandering Now'. Covered by ‘The Specials' and most recently by ‘Amy Winehouse'. The community of Waterhouse is one of the volatile areas in Kingston and also home of some legendary Reggae groups such as Black Uhuru and Wailing Souls.As an original member and the first lead singer of Black Uhuru there were 3 singles recorded circa 1971-73. Garth re- formed the group along with Don Carlos and Duckie Simpson in 1989-1999, the outcome of that reunion being 4 Reggae Grammy nominations.During his break from Black Uhuru he performed as an original member of the legendary Wailing Souls. As a member of the Wailing Souls the group produced most of their pivotal music of their catalogue. Including a track, ‘Things and Time' placed in a Hollywood movie ‘Dear John' (2010).Today Garth Dennis is performing music from his repertoire that includes tracks from his Black Uhuru Grammy nominated albums as well as the Wailing Souls catalogue.
