Summary: Water House Reggae Dynasty with Garth Dennis Of Black Uhuru Garth Dennis has been in the entertainment industry for over 40 years. He has been witness to the great Jamaican singers, songwriters and musician of the Caribbean. Joe Higgs the ‘Father of Reggae' was a mentor and family member. His sister Joan Dennis is of the famed 60's duo ‘Andy and Joey' who had the monster hit, Your Wandering Now'. Covered by ‘The Specials' and most recently by ‘Amy Winehouse'. The community of Waterhouse is one of the volatile areas in Kingston and also home of some legendary Reggae groups such as Black Uhuru and Wailing Souls.As an original member and the first lead singer of Black Uhuru there were 3 singles recorded circa 1971-73. Garth re- formed the group along with Don Carlos and Duckie Simpson in 1989-1999, the outcome of that reunion being 4 Reggae Grammy nominations.During his break from Black Uhuru he performed as an original member of the legendary Wailing Souls. As a member of the Wailing Souls the group produced most of their pivotal music of their catalogue. Including a track, ‘Things and Time' placed in a Hollywood movie ‘Dear John' (2010).Today Garth Dennis is performing music from his repertoire that includes tracks from his Black Uhuru Grammy nominated albums as well as the Wailing Souls catalogue.
