“Fact or Fiction? Friend or Foe? A Personal Journey of Coming to Peace with Evolution” – Darrel Falk | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:23:46

(The second link is the afternoon Science Seminar by Dr. Falk) This Chapel talk describes the personal process of overcoming the painful cognitive dissonance that can easily impact the life of a Christian who loves the sciences, and entering into a joy-filled celebration of the beauty of science and faith united in Christ. Dr. Darrel Falk, past president of the BioLogos Foundation, is Professor of Biology at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, where he has taught since 1988. He received his BSc (with Honors) from Simon Fraser University, and earned his PhD from the University of Alberta. Dr. Falk’s early research focused on Drosophila molecular and developmental genetics. But desiring to focus on undergraduate teaching in a Christian college setting and to think about biology more broadly than from a research perspective, he transitioned into Christian higher education many years ago. He led BioLogos into becoming an organization which has become increasingly known for its success in addressing the concerns that many Christians have about evolution. It has done this through an annual conference of leading evangelicals, workshops for teachers in Christian schools, and a website that has about 650,000 visits per year. He is the author of the pioneering work, Coming to Peace with Science: Bridging the Worlds Between Faith and Biology.
