LOTSL 62 Licked Clean For Your Protection | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The LOTSL gang discusses their participation in PRIDE48's LIVE STREAMING EVENT from June 23rd, and contemplate the possibility of recording a live version of LOTSL on a regular basis sometime in the future. Today's episode is a free-for-all discussion about a variety of topics: First, Dr. Stone launches a discussion about the use of Wikipedia as a resource and the LOTSL gang discusses its usefulness as a valid resource. Then Brenda launches a discussion about odd communications with other adults. For example, grown men who talk like little boys, a condition identified by Dr. Stone as the Baby Huey Syndrome. Next, Jay the Hauntcub talks about Kayaking.  Somehow this leads into a discussion of salt-water swimming pools, swimming and water phobias. LOTSL listener extraordinaire Cathy Marshal asks Brenda Boo about her custom of feeding her dogs off the dinner plates which leads into a discussion about dog-germs and germs in general, causing Mark in Canada to confront his aversion to germs and poor dish-washing fundamentals. The Supreme Court defeat of DOMA is hypothetically discussed from a curious opposite point of view: What if it were straight people who were restricted from marriage?  A More serious reflection on the institution of marriage, DOMA, masturbation and human sexuality follows.  LOTSL 60 Cotton Candy and High Hopes | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Recorded a week before Life On the Shit List participated in the June 21 thru 23 Live Pride48 Streaming Event, we find the LOTSL crew holding a practice live recording session, facilitated and engineered by the amazing John Ong. This week, we have multiple signature rants to present!  But first, ThatPeterG kicks-off today's episode by describing an exciting tractor-race event taking place in Iowa, and asks, "What is the point of all this?" Signature Rants: First up, Dr. Stone relays a story that earns "the Almond-Cruncher," a new nick-name.  Then, ThatPeterG launches a riotous rant about emerging celebrities that invade his Twitter-feed.  While Peter and Toppie are clueless as to the identity of these nouveau celebs, Jay the (in-the know) Hauntcub fills them in with the straight dope. The next Signature Rant is from Mark in Canada who questions the expectations behind an e-invitation to an upcoming wedding ceremony.  Finally, Mark comes back with a second rant, this one about mindless picture taking and a particular steam driven clock!  LOTSL 57 It’s the End of the World As You Know It… | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Before beginning our main topic, Brenda gives thanks to all those who have most recently (and in the past) left us an Itunes review. Then, Brenda launches into a rant about messing with her cell phone notifications and trouble with her Ipod device, which was refusing to work right.  With her favorite devices failing her, Brenda feels out of control with the world around her. Meanwhile, Wes Stone tells a nice story about a good Samaritan and some baby ducks she rescued.  This leads to another baby duck story from Brenda. The recent devastation from a category five tornado in Moore, Oklahoma prompts the Shit-Listers to discuss natural disasters, each explaining their own personal brushes with disasters in the form of floods, earthquakes, fires and ice-storms.  Discussion continues as they speculate about the ability of Americans to survive a long term disaster. Finally, the top 10 natural disasters in the USA and what to keep handy in your own personal survival kit. This episode's LOTSL role call:  Brend Boo! Mark in Canada! Toppie Smellie! And Wes Stone!  LOTSL 50 He Doesn’t Wanna Wear the Ribbon! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Brenda opens the show with a work story about a little prepaid mistake involving a hoity-toity District Attorney.  Somebody mentions a drive-by cleaning, but we're not sayin' nothin'. Next, Snarky Facebook posts: ThatPeterG rants about a friend of his who posted a snarky comment on Facebook he deemed objectionable.  Also some discussion about the ads that come up on our Facebook accounts and how Peter found an ad for a trampoline on his Facebook (it's possible Peter had been previously looking at trampoline porn). Another rant: Toppie Smellie provides a brief rant about drivers who don't know what to do at a four way stop. Next; Dr. Wesley P. Stone leads a discussion about vanity license plates. Facebook peer pressure: The Shit-Listers also discuss the recent Facebook peer-pressure phenomenon of using the red equal sign as an avatar. This leads into a discussion of the value of wearing ribbons or other symbols to express solidarity with a cause or concern. Salt rocks and crystals: Brenda launches a discussion about cholonic cleanses and other detox myths involving deliberate false health claims. FUCK DR. OZ!  Mark in Canada discusses a gall bladder remedy he swears by, but Toppie is skeptical.  More discussion about the validity of such practices as chiropractic care, and acupuncture ensues. Podcast recommendations: The gang offers podcasts they like. Toppie recommends a recent episode of "This American Life" concerning a discussion about welfare, disability fraud, and how different states handle people on disability.  Mark recommends "The Judy Cast" and "Radio Lab" . Brenda recommends the "Dana Gould Hour" and "The Bugle Podcast." Peter recommends "International Waters" and a blog by Mike Lawson called "Socially Diabetic" detailing his life with diabetes.  And lastly, Toppie recommends "The Moth Podcast." The Shit-Listers gather to reveal their underrated favorite TV shows and movies. But first, Brenda responds to an e-mail from Brian Gregory of the Game Night Guys podcast, who wishes Brenda to answer some of the questions put to the boys back in LOTSL 46 "One Boo and Five Gays."  Get ready World!  Brenda describes her idea of a perfect set of balls! Next, two updates:  First Jay the Hauntcub updates everyone on the results of his sleep study.  The panel discusses sleep apnea.  Then Toppie provides an update on his mysterious banking problem as told in last episode of LOTSL. Finally the Shit-Listers discuss TV shows and movies that made an impact on them, but perhaps were over-looked by the majority.  Here's what we recommend!
