Christian Devotions Speak UP! with Sherry Carter | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! November 2 – Sherry Carter 6:00 p.m. EST Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when host Scott McCausey interviews author Sherry Carter. After many years as an engineer at Johnson Space Center in Houston, God saw fit to yank Sherry out of the space world and sit her down in front of a laptop, writing about His Word. Sherry used to be so proud and excited watching the shuttle launch—a shuttle carrying crewmembers her team had trained, with equipment they’d designed. Now she’s at home every day where the most exciting thing is having leftovers for dinner! At JSC, she wrote technical manuals and experimental procedures. Now Sherry sits with a Bible and a concordance, surrounded by reference books, praying for God to show her what to say. God's called Sherry to be many things over the years: daughter, sister, friend, stay-at-home mom, and career woman. But most precious to her is His call to be His daughter. Find out more about Sherry Carter and her new book coming soon to a bookstore near you, at www.sherrycarter.com. Christian Devotions Radio is a live call-in show. Call-in Number: (347) 884-9367

Christian Devotions Speak UP with Vonda Skelton | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! October 26 – Vonda Skelton 6:00 p.m. EST Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when host Scott McCausey interviews author and speaker Vonda Skelton. As a little girl growing up in South Carolina, Vonda never wanted to do little girl things. Instead of being a cheerleader, she played on the boy’s baseball team. Instead of running from the boys who pulled her hair, Vonda chased them, threw them to the ground, and beat them up. Life was good. Then she grew up and discovered that girls couldn’t play on the boys’ teams. Vonda had always dreamed of being an undercover detective, an investigative reporter, or a movie star. But the world told her she had to become what all little girls became at that time—a nurse, teacher, or secretary. It took over 40 years to discover what God had created Vonda to be—a writer and speaker! Vonda enjoys the honor of sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ in women’s ministry around the country. Whether you need a night of laugh-out-loud humor or a weekend of serious study, she has a message for you. By incorporating drama, music, and visuals, her programs offer engaging and practical application of spiritual truth, while inspiring women to laugh, learn, and love. But women’s ministry isn’t her only speaking arena. Vonda loves teaching adults and students how to pen words that touch lives. She’s had the privilege of teaching at writers’ conferences from Delaware to New Mexico, and has taught her Writing is Fun! workshops to over 15,000 students in public and private schools.  Christian Devotions Speak UP with Kathy Howard | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! October 19 – Kathy Howard 6:00 p.m. EST Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when host Scott McCausey interviews author Kathy Howard. Kathy’s love of teaching led her to begin writing Bible study curriculum to meet specific needs among those she teaches. For instance, after being questioned over and over by students about what the Bible means when it says we are to “fear God,” Kathy began to study the topic. The result was a nine-week study based on the book of Malachi. Before His Throne was released by New Hope Publishers in January, 2008. Kathy also has an exciting teaching ministry to spiritual seekers. She has written a twelve-week study that presents the basics of the Christian faith in a non-threatening way. The study, God’s Truth Revealed, guides seekers through the Bible from creation to the foundation of the Church and challenges them to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. This study will be released by New Hope Publishers in March, 2010. Actively involved in women’s ministry for many years, Kathy enjoys speaking at women’s events and conferences. She is equally comfortable speaking in a large group setting, teaching in a more casual atmosphere, or leading interactive workshops. Find out more about Kathy, her family and her ministry at www.kathyhoward.org. Christian Devotions Radio is a live call-in show. Call-in Number: (347) 884-9367

Christian Devotions Speak UP with Joe Prainito | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! October 12 – Joe Prainito 6:00 p.m. EST Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when host Scott McCausey interviews author and Hospice Minister, Joe Prainito. Joe Prainito was born in Trenton, Michigan on March 14, 1977 alongside his twin brother (sidekick) Matt. His mom and dad prayed and heeded the call from God to move to California when he was two-years-old, which is where Joe resides with his own family today. Joe’s public ministry began at the ripe age of fifteen when he auditioned and secured a bass guitar position in a band by the name of Wickeds End. Joe went on to play with other such bands as the Glenn Rowlands Band, Fish Tribe, and eventually joined Redline. Joe attended Victory Leadership Institute in Nashville, TN. where he found a deeper desire to minister to those who sit in the streets, as well as the pews. Joe continued to play the bass guitar in Redline, but couldn't deny hearing the Lord calling him away to a ministry of another kind. Joe resigned his position as bassist of Redline and moved back to California at the age of twenty-one to fill a youth pastor position, and soon met his beautiful bride Tina. Joe accepted a position at a local Hospice in Riverside, CA which is where he is today. Joe states: “There was some opposition when I first stepped into the Hospice pastoral position because of my age, but as soon as I began to minister to the patients and families, I was always asked to return. The Lord had grace on me.” Joe continues to minister with Hospice today at the age of thirty, and believes that the Lord still has great plans for his life to spread the word of God throughout the world. Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! September 21 – Phil Downer 6:00 p.m. EST Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when host Scott McCausey interviews author Phil Downer. Phil grew up in Colorado and New York with more than the usual family pain. He flunked out of the college where his father had been the student body president. Ironically (though providentially), Phil joined the United States Marine Corps. He stuffed the pain, lived for the moment, medicated his needs with achievement, competition, and the answers of the world. He finally found answers when a doctor teamed up with other professional men in CBMC, and reached out to Phil with the timeless truths of Jesus Christ. The Bible become the most relevant and effective tool in his leadership role, and he ultimately became a senior partner and trial lawyer in a 50 attorney law firm in five offices coast to coast. Phil learned that the Scriptures provided invaluable guidance in rebuilding relationships and was a blueprint for his discipleship of men in the marketplace. Now, in Discipleship Network of America, Phil’s family continues with the same focus and passion which God called him over 20 years ago, to go into all the world to make disciples.  Christian Devotions Speak UP with Chris Byrd and wife Tracy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! August 17 – Chris Byrd 6:00 p.m. EST Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when host Scott McCausey interviews the former Heavyweight Champion of the World, Chris Byrd. After winning the silver medal at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, the Lord slowed Chris’s pace, allowing him to take an inventory of his life. He was married to his beautiful wife and best friend, Tracy, had an adorable baby girl, Jordan, and a future that appeared bright. Everything seemed right on track, yet something was missing. It was at this time that Tracy felt the calling of Christ. Her church attendance was infectious, and one day Chris found himself following his family into God’s house. Chris filled the empty void with Christ and bounced back professionally, hungry to achieve his boxing dreams. He added weight to enter the heavyweight division and accumulated 36 professional victories. Byrd was one of the world's best heavyweights from the late 1990s into the mid 2000s. Chris’s greatest boxing triumph was a win over Evander Holyfield on December 14, 2002. His lopsided, unanimous decision brought him the IBF Title in an impressive performance against one of the biggest names in boxing history. Christian Devotions Radio is a live call-in show.
