The Gossip Raves = Electronic Music Festivals which are fun places to dance your arse off. Check outInsomniac Events (who puts on most of the ones I attend) for music and pictures. Headed to Vogue Knitting - LA . Listened to a lecture from Shannon Oakey. Bought yarn. Took a photography class with Amy Swenson . Went to CogKnitive Fiber Retreat and meet the fabulous Dr. Gemma.  Bought more yarn and met cool people. I got into the Super Summer Knitaway in Nashville, TN being put on by the amazing KnitGillls and Carin from Round the Twist. Stash enhancement time.  Check out blog post on it. In the Can Scrappy Sock Yarn Scarf -  Awesome project for using scrap sock yarn. Spiral Cowl by Jeri McKiernan - Another great project for my gift box. Modern Cabled Baby Bibs - I got two bibs from less than one skein of Sugar & Cream. Homespun Wavy Hat by Lee Meredith - Great new Fall hat for me! Now Playing Cassidy - I managed to set-in both of those sleeves and seamed the sides.  Also bought buttons.  Next up is the button band & collar. Mother Bear Project - I have two bears so far - one knit and one crochet.  Another great way to use up worsted weight scrap yarn. Coming Attractions Had a major rip session including the my Turbulence sweater so I can reuse the yarn.  Also ripped the Quincy hat which I will reknitting using Malabrigo held double. Time to pick my oldest UFO up again since its been 10 months - Corrie Fair Isle Vest. Plan to do a Halloween/B-Day project (my day of birth is October 31st). This year socks to be started on October 1st. Have printed out patterns and matched yarn for the Mitt Envy pattern and Blue Steps Baby Booties. The Gossip I'm going to Vogue Knitting - LA this weekend where I will taking a class with Amy Swenson where I am going to learn mad photography skills.  Then I get to go to Cogknitive Fiber Retreat and meet the fabulous Dr. Gemma. The Gossip It's only 10 days until my favorite nerd fest of the year - San Diego Comic-con! I'm going to see some of stars of my favorite shows - Doctor Who, Supernatural, Glee, Sanctuary and more! Will be attending the CogKnitive Fiber Retreat in Tehachapi, CA with Dr. Gemma and lots of other cool people like ToadyJoe of Outlier podcast. Had an amazing time at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Big trip with Mom and nephew in August to Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce and Las Vegas. Holiday weekend craft day was a fail.  Too many other things for in the way. HK Award Nominee My new phone...the HTC EVO 3D! In the Can My hanging Waffle Dishcloths! Love them for drying my hands. Now Playing Corrie Fair Isle Vest by Knitpicks is still on the needles - slow but sure although I am a bit intimidated by the next part which is setting up stitches for the steeks. I cast-on for my next sweater after too much thought and agonizing on Ravelry. It's Cassidy done in Berocco Comfort Worsted! The Gossip Supported my best friend Jon as he produced and had a show in the Hollywood Fringe Festival. It's summer and that means vacation time!! One of the events coming up that I do every year is one of the biggest geek-fests in the world - San Diego Comic-con! Planning a craft day for my holiday weekend to do all those little craft things like ripping, fixing and organizing as a mid-year spring cleaning. HK Award Nominee  Started the Couch to 5K program again. This time I am using the awesome UK National Health Service podcast to do my workout. LA Story Felicia Day is one of my girl crushes and in 2009, she helped me get into a Dr. Horrible screening at Comic-con. Also check out her awesome web series The Guild.

Applause (aka Thanks) My Camp KIP Peeps who supported and encouraged me in this little podcast venture. Especially Carol (Carolshue on Ravelry and Itunes) who left me my first Itunes review. Thank you! In the Can I finished what I call my Camp KIP socks even though I started them after camp technically  These are a gift for a very special person who really inspired me to start this podcast.  No pictures until I know she's got them in the mail.  The Socks are the Lil Bit Socks by Laura Linneman that were part of the Camp KIP goody bag in Cascade Heritage Paints. Now Playing Still working on my first large Fair Isle project and probably will for a while. Corrie Fair Isle Vest by Knitpicks My very boring but very practical - Waffle Knit Dish Cloths in Sugar & Creme. Coming Attractions A sweater with cables that could be so Aidez, Beatnik, Cassidy, Hallet's Ledge, or I Heart Aran. The Gossip I was a cheering squad for my boyfriend and friends at the Camp Pendleton Mud Run.  As a result, I am starting the Couch to 5K program again and hope to do a similar type challenging run soon. I'm attending Vogue Knitting Live - LA.  I'm signed up for a class on Photography with Amy Swenson and a lecture for aspiring designers by Shannon Oakey. Review Knitgrrl Guide to Professional Knitwear Design by Shannnon Oakey - Highly recommend to anyone who has every thought of being a fiber arts professional or are just interested in the industry.  The interviews with designers, editors and other people in the industry are very interesting and worth a read. HK Award Nominee  Cooking Light.  Great magazine with wonderful recipes that make yummy food.  Especially when prepared by this sexy thang! LA Story Sandraw Bullock and her voice.

Now Playing Still working on my Lil Bit Socks by Laura Linneman. My first large Fair Isle project!!!  Corrie Fair Isle Vest by Knitpicks  Lesson learned - fair isle is slow. In the Can The shawl everyone seems to be doing Daybreak by Stephen West. Coming Attractions Recycled T-shirt rug kinda like this one. 10 balls down about 20 more to go! Hanging wash cloth for over my kitchen sink. The Gossip I attended the Lightning in a Bottle music festival.  It was amazing, incredible, something to behold, freeing, liberating and inspiring.
