Wait, What? show

Wait, What?

Summary: Ostensibly about comic books and graphic novels, "Wait, What?" is a podcast in which two friends swap stories, theories, and jokes about all aspects of pop culture...but especially comics. For our early episodes, our theme music is Track 18 from Nine Inch Nails' wonderful ambient album Ghosts, which Trent Reznor graciously made available under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license. But for some time now, it has been an original composition by our very own Graeme McMillan: this update is overdue!

 Wait, What? Episode ConCast1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:32:43

Graeme McMillan is there in thick of San Diego ComicCon 2013, or Nerd Vietnam as I call it, and takes a few minutes to talk toJeff Lester in this special half-hour edition. Topics include cosplayers, the 2000AD booth, Aquaman vs. Sharknado, and Graeme as Dr. Doom, and we also find a few minutes to discuss comics we have read recently, including Justice League of Amercia, Walking Dead, Batman by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, The Invincible Haggard West by Paul Pope, Deadpool #13, and much more. This episode will not replace Con coverage on the Net but will at least help you resolve that burning Aquaman vs. Sharknado questions. Super-brief show notes for this super-brief episode are available over at savage critic.com, and we always welcome your comments and questions at waitwhatpodcast@gmail.com. Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!

 Wait, What? Episode 128 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:06:25

A little later than is good for us, here comes Episode 128 with Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester reeling from the mind-bending events of Age of Ultron #10. The first half of this two hour episode is the two of us reeling in a way that seems suspiciously like bemused shit-talking. It is a complain-a-thon of epic proportions just before our upcoming skip week! Also discussed with greater and lesser degrees of ability and enthusiasm: Jeph Loeb and Superman/Batman; The Origin of Hordak; Shade The Changing Man; the passing of Kim Thompson; the Ditko Public Service Package; Empowered; Judge Dredd; Pat Mills; Uncanny Avengers and much more. Somewhat truncated show notes are available for this episode are available over at savage critic.com, and we always welcome your comments and questions at waitwhatpodcast@gmail.com.  Wait, What? Episode 127 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:02:21

Faster than a speeding buffet, it is Episode 127 with Graeme McMillan and I discussing exciting new developments in Superman's underwear for just a little over two hours. Non-Superman underwear topics include Judge Dredd Megazine, Suicide Squad Batman Zero Year, Supermag Brightest Day, Jennifer Blood, the New 52, Forever Evil, Relish by Lucy Knisley and much, much more.  Wait, What? Episode 126 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:11:37

Like a newly rebooted franchise, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester are back with more than two full hours of Episode 126, which means of course that in keeping the number it really isn't very much like a reboot at all in this case, but you get what we mean hopefully. And in this episode Mr. McMillan and a highly over-caffeinated Mr. Lester talk some more Arrested Development, the Fictional Man by Al Ewing, The Adventures of Superhero Girl, Green Lantern, Angel and Faith, Daredevil #26, In The Kitchen with Alain Passard and much, much more. Show notes for this episode are available over at savage critic.com, we always welcome your comments and questions at waitwhatpodcast@gmail.com. Thanks for your patience with our recent technical problems and we hope you enjoy!

 Wait, What? Episode 125 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:56:50

We are kinda/sorta back for Episode 125, as technical problems leave Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester with little choice but to offer up a scant 55 minutes of podcasting frippery. While we do get a chance to discuss three glorious issues of Kamandi by Jack Kirby and the free digital comic Bad Dog by Graham Chaffee, most of our uncomfortably foreshortened time is spent on other media: the fourth season of Arrested Development, another visit to the Man of Steel trailer, and some hearty talk about The Fast and the Furious Six. Show notes for this wee episode are available over at savage critic.com, we always welcome your comments and questions at waitwhatpodcast@gmail.com. We are looking into technical solutions to avoid this happening in future podcasts and as always, we hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!

Vaughan and Marcos Martin. Join us for over an hour and fifty minutes of talk about those topics, as well as Action Comics #18, Constantine #1, Sympathy for the Devil, and a quick list of all the great comics that came out during this very odd slice of time.  Wait, What? Episode 118 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:47:09

A veritable terminator of a comic book podcast, Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester have survived stomach flu, the techpocalypse and the first two issue of the Age of Ultron in order to talk to you. Clocking in at almost an hour and forty five minutes of mostly unblemished four color off-color speak, the podcast today has in-depth discussions on the aforementioned Age of Ultron, X-Men both All-New and Uncanny, comic books sales analyses, the Marvel 700 promotion, trash-talking Giant Man and the return of the Techpocalypse. Full--although somewhat skimpy this week--show notes are available over at savage critic.com and, as always, we hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!

 Wait, What? Episode 116 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:20:33

Recorded before the Oscars but somehow refreshingly prediction-free, Wait, What Ep. 116 is two hours and fifteen minutes of comic book podcasting adventure, as Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester tackle all of our old favorite topics, fumble some new ones, and engage in poorly constructed sports metaphors! Topics today include Happy by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, Batman 17 by Greg Capullo and Scott Snyder, the sixth issue of the Avengers, the fifth issue of Thor, the final issue of Hellblazer, Orson Scott Card, Oscar Scott Cord, the first issues of Nova and the Justice League of America--those are two titles, not one, alas--the latest Superman event, the new teams on Green Lantern, and the glory that is Hook Jaw. As always, we hope you enjoy and thanks for listening!
