October begins with a scream. Which seems appropriate, I guess. The horror started the day before, on the kickball field, with a massacre to grisly to mention. Bobby mentions the awesome bit of supplementary income his dentist prescribed him, and Cort muses on the nature of the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes the Sequel of the Reboot that was a Remake of a Sequel that's a Prequel. Ryan Fleming stops in to discuss what a flaming wreck Resident Evil 6 seems to be, and helps discuss the Bond Box Set that came and is already obsolete-ish, and we preview Adele's theme song for "Skyfall." Finally, a little bit of political wonkery is indulged as a new bit of backstory on Jefferson Smith is unearthed. Download audio file (10012012.mp3)

How many times have we used the word "Delightful" to describe a Thursday episode? Not many. And yet, today? It happened. Byron Beck and Leia Weathington teamed up to talk about myriad topics - some a little salty, some a little sweet, some a subtle blend of both flavors. Leave it to Bobby to drizzle a little sad over the proceedings, but when he explains why he has those feels (and why you're not getting a Friday show) it might be hard to blame him. Although I'm sure you'll find a way. You're resilient listeners, after all. Download audio file (09272012.mp3)

Courtenay Hameister deals with trauma. Lots of it. Firstly, the trauma that comes from being exposed to Bagel Heads. Which is a thing. Secondly, the trauma that comes from belly buttons. Thirdly, the trauma from finding out a self-proclaimed feminist has written a biography of the vagina that seems to fundamentally misunderstand everything about that particular area of the body. But Fourthly, and most importantly, the trauma that comes from finding out your brother has been in a car wreck so big, so destructive, that Cort found out about it on the morning news. Courtenay takes us through a strange, surreal, scary night, unearthing questions that most people, luckily, don't ever have to face. Download audio file (09262012.mp3)

David Walker: Back from Hawaii. Refreshed. Rested. Almost drowned and beaten up by the Pacific Ocean. Forced to watch a stingray do things no stingray should do. But at least he got to see the stingray. He never saw the turtles, and he is thiiiiis close to admitting he'll never see the Bigfoot. But he still wants to believe, and that's gotta be worth something. And then he'll follow up his adventure to Hawaii by heading out to... Oakland. But just because it's Oakland doesn't mean it's not worth a visit. In fact, Oakland inspires a fun discussion about film, and what movies best represent the cities they're made in. It's good to have the Bad Azz Mofo himself back on the block. Download audio file (09252012.mp3)
