This week we welcome Ufologist, Cryptozoologist and Paranormal Investigator Fred Saluga. About Fred: A former law enforcement officer, Fred is the state director of Mutual UFO Network of West Virginia. . He also is a Western Pennsylvania section director of MUFON of Pennsylvania. Fred has estimated that he has investigated "a couple thousand" UFO reports since the 1970s. Fred is a lecturer and teaches a free college class on Ufology and Cryptids at the Eastern Gateway Community College in Maryland. Saluga began investigating unidentified flying objects in the 1970s while employed as a law enforcement officer. He has investigated UFO sightings, abduction cases and other UFO-related activities and UFO phenomena in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida and West Virginia. Fred has founded and heads up the West Virginia Center for Unexplained Events and the West Virginia Mountain State Sasquatch Watch. The good Dr returns this week to BTE Radio. Eric, Lon and Sean welcome back our friend and colleague Dr. Barry Taff. About Dr. Taff: Dr. Barry E. Taff, who holds a doctorate in psychophysiology with a minor in biomedical engineering, is a world-renowned parapsychologist who worked out of UCLA’s former Parapsychology Laboratory from 1969 through 1978 as a research associate. During his four-decade career, Dr. Taff has investigated more than 4,500 cases of ghosts, hauntings, poltergeists and conducted extensive studies in telepathy and precognition, eventually developing the initial protocols and methodologies for what was later termed “remote viewing”. He also, was himself, investigated as a psychic subject, the results of which were published in Behavioral Neuropsychiatry, “A Laboratory Investigation of Telepathy: The Study of A Psychic”, Vol. 6, Nos. 1-12, April-December 1974-January-March, 1975. One of the cases Dr. Taff investigated in 1974 gained international fame as the book and motion picture, The Entity, starring Barbara Hershey and Ron Silver, released by Fox in 1983. The disappearance and eventual death of 39-year-old Todd Sees has been one of the most mysterious cases in modern ufology. In the early morning of August 4th, 2002,Todd Jeffrey Sees rode his ATV, starting at his home at the base of Montour Ridge in Northumberland County, PA. (Point Township), on a short jaunt up a mountain trail adjacent to a sprawling high power line. After he failed to return home by noon, the family became concerned and notified the authorities. A massive search effort ensued...which included search & rescue personnel (with search dogs and helicopters), local & state police, as well as an organized search team that numbered 200+ volunteers. The entire area from the top of the ridge, adjacent woods and the family property was explored...including a small pond located 70 feet from the Sees house. Divers and dogs searched the area in and around the pond...without success. The effort continued for approximately 36 hours...until the second morning of the search, a family member noticed something in the bushes around the fore-mentioned pond. Todd Sees body had been discovered...in an area that was heavily searched the previous day. Since that time, there has been very little information released to the public. The death was ruled as 'fatal cocaine toxicity'...despite evidence suggesting that something else most likely occurred. The circumstances involving the recovery, handling, autopsy and final arrangements with the body are also mired in controversy. A joint investigation by Butch Witkowski / Cold Case Unit of the UFO Research Center of PA and the Phantoms & Monsters Fortean Research team has uncovered previously undisclosed information in regards to this incident.
