A not quite as short as expected introduction to the new co-host for the Midnight Movie Club podcast! Interestingly enough it was only after editing the podcast that I first realised how nervous I was on the co-host's behalf! So sadly I'm all jittery and he is the one cool, calm and collected! This week the boys head on back to the early 90s when everyone loved a guy who slept hungover in his car for the amusement of the neighbourhood children.  Where the most important thing after killing someone wasn't the mountains of paperwork and procedures but the snappy one liner you managed to throw out. Yes this week we're reviewing the Bruce Willis film The Last Boy Scout. A ground breaking massive return to format for Lee and Dan this week as they open a new chapter in the history of the Midnight Movie Club by becoming video podcasters! Using Google Hangouts the boys are now recording their podcasts with streaming live video that you should be able tune into (once they work out "events") or watch later on their new YouTube channel. It doesn't mean the audio podcast is going away it just means that you can watch us record live, maybe even interact with us and then a couple of days later the audio version will show up in iTunes. At present there is no intention to provide video by iTunes sorry. Now Lee and Dan are also back focusing (in general) on a single film and this week's film is the Disney science fiction adventure film Flight of the Navigator. As part of their ongoing commitment to you the film going public at least 50% of the Midmoclub have watched essentially all of the best picture Academy Award nominated films: Amour, Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Misérables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty. Which films make the Midnight Movie Club cut? Also discover Dan's new cult of no doors! So what film do you expect to win the Best Picture Oscar? Was Ben Affleck robbed by not being nominated for best director? Will you be removing your doors? That's right! The long promised podcast who's existence was whispered about in shadows amongst only truly devoted to the Midnight Movie Club is finally here. Yes it's a little late. Yes that's a rough scribble of Lee and Dan (I mean fair go, I grew a beard, Dan got thin and I only had time for a quick scribble - Lee). Yes the boys are letting the world know their hopes and dreams for the films of 2013. Star Trek, Hobbits, Die Hards, Furious Fast ummm things - it's all here as Lee and Dan discuss the upcoming films. So did you make a list of films to see?
