It’s a wrap: winners in seven categories were crowned at the Audi Nines presented by Falken in Sölden, Austria. After a week of film and photo sessions, the Public Contest Day was seriously epic. The male and female skiers and snowboarders, as well as the Ski- and Snowboard Crossers showed thrilling performances on the new SlopeX course as well as Big Air and Quarterpipe. With the exciting set-up and perfect weather conditions drawing more than 3,000 spectators to Tiefenbach Glacier, the riders gave it their all and showed everyone they were eager to progress their sports. The second stage of the Freeride World Tour was staged at a new location, champagne powder paradise Kicking Horse near Golden, British Columbia (CAN). Arianna Tricomi (ITA-1st Place) keeps turning up the heat with a series of clean airs linked by the solid technique she is known for in The Women's Ski and representing Japan for the restaged Hakuba event, Wakana Hama (JPN-1st Place) was able to translate her boardercross background into a technical line selection, putting her on top in the Women's Snowboarding. Since we´ve heard that Macedonia has pretty good snow we tried to search the internet to get some info but there wasn´t a lot. The only usable thing we found out that there is a guy called Tomislav Tiska who runs a Catboarding Company called „Eskimo Freeride“ in the Sàr Mountains. When Tomislav gave us the OK for a good weather period we straight went on a road trip starting from Austria, through the Balkans. When made it to Macedonia we couldn´t believe our eyes how big and snow packed these mountains were. YES - we had a pretty good time - with some pretty deep pow in Macedonia!
