02/04/13: Seth Davis has concerns for Kansas; wants a 30-second shot clock | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:39:56

One of the pod's best few-times-a-year guests is, of course, Seth Davis. The Sports Illustrated/CBS Sports commentator is a good friend of the pod, and coming off that great Saturday in hoops, punctuated by Michigan-Indiana, well, it was time to get him back on. He and host Matt Norlander recap that game, talk about the Mountain West's vexing problems, address Oklahoma State over Kansas, and get into the possibility of the Final Four losing its lights the way the Super Bowl did. Can you imagine?

02/01/13: Jay Bilas explains why Florida has become the best in college hoops | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:29

Since we're smack-dab in the middle of conference season, we're bringing Jay Bilas to talk 100 percent hoops. No NCAA issues or qualms or scolds. This is all basketball. From the big game in Bloomington Saturday night to Florida's epically good defense to the Atlantic 10's quality to Louisville, Syracuse, the ACC and more. Just good hoop talk. You want that? We thought so. Enjoy.

01/30/13: Goodman and Parrish making their sideline-reporting debuts | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:56

Before we get to the description, an apology for all the laughter that ensues in this episode. This podcast is one of the best we've done so far this season, primarily because it entails Gary Parrish going over his typically Vegas-like trip to Vegas. Accosted by strippers, awkward TV debuts and wearing his CBS jacket to bars for attention. Jeff Goodman joins as usual, and the those two and host Matt Norlander go over Marshall Henderson's latest odd behavior, Kentucky-Ole Miss, NC State, Virginia's tournament chances, and a lot more other random, funny stuff. Goodman's making his TV debut Saturday for Temple-St. Joe's. How much would he have to be paid to ask Phil Martelli on camera about Todd O'Brien?

01/28/13: What another wild and worthwhile weekend | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:42

We bring him on once a month, he's CBSSports.com's most beloved bro: Jeff Borzello. Jeff had an epic write-up of the GIF seen 'round the country Saturday night, when Marshall Henderson taunted Auburn fans into hysteria. On Monday's podcast he and host Matt Norlander discuss Henderson plenty but also look back at a funky and fun weekend in hoops. The guys hop about plenty of topics, from Florida to Minnesota to Louisville to Kansas to bats taunting players in games and Borzello's utter lack of desire to find a hobby.

01/25/13: Should Mark Emmert step down as NCAA president? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:37:58

January on the whole has brought about a lot of NCAA news, most of it controversial. It's time to sit down and sort out the timeline on a lot of this stuff. In addition to that, there's debate over the good and purpose of the NCAA at this point, whether its president, Mark Emmert, has already proven he's not the man for the job, and how the organization should actually be applauded for some of the recent action in the Miami investigation. Yes, we're serious. John Infante comes back on to clear up any confusion you might have. He's the best voice on there on NCAA clarity.

01/23/13: Concerns for Kentucky and NC State; what awaits Frank Haith | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:51:38

So for a while now Jeff Goodman and Gary Parrish have been teasing host Matt Norlander to buck up and sing something on the podcast -- live. Finally, that day has come. Be kind on our humble host as his dainty voice tries to get through a few tunes without cracking. A little acoustic guitar to open and close the show sandwiches a whole bunch of hoops talk today, most notably centering around the struggles of Kentucky and North Carolina State. The guys also get into the details and logistics of Frank Haith's future, now that the Missouri coach could be handed a notice of allegations by the NCAA any hour now. All this plus the usual hodgepodge of hoops banter mixed in. Enjoy!

01/21/13: Bomani Jones makes his podcast debut | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:37

We're thrilled to finally bring on one of the rising stars of TV and online media, Bomani Jones. Jones is based in the North Carolina Triangle area and is well-versed in college hoops, even though you might know him better as a national commentator of sorts. He comes on to discuss why college basketball is fun but frustrating in the modern era; his strange hesitation to embrace Billy Donovan; why Charles Barkley's recent comments about college basketball were right; and of course a reaction and discussion about Gonzaga and Butler after those two played the best game of the season on Saturday.

01/18/13: Best Saturday of the regular season ahead? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:28

While Manti Te'o's fake dead girlfriend and Lance Armstrong's real lies occupied most of the sports news this week, college basketball was busy getting better and better. ESPN.com's Eamonn Brennan comes back on the podcast to chitchat about a number of random hoops topics. This really is an audio buffet of basketball, an assortment of topics that covers a wide range of teams, player, trends and the best of what's to come: Saturday's games. Have you seen the schedule? It's loaded, the best single-day slate we've had so far this season. Enjoy the podcast, then enjoy the games.

 01/16/13: Podcast -- after dark | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:07

A riveting Tuesday night of hoops and the fact icy weather conditions stranded Gary Parrish in Memphis led the trio to record their annual Wednesday podcast late on Tuesday. Parrish, Jeff Goodman and host Matt Norlander go over the Wisconsin-Indiana game, Kentucky's issues continuing, the Ole Miss-Vandy ending to regulation which is one of the craziest sequences of the season so far. And in between all that, the guys go off the board here and there with random hoops topics. It's everything you've come to expect from the hump day version of the podcast.

01/14/13: No unbeatens left, and why we usually wait longer for that | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:20

With Duke falling at N.C. State and Michigan falling at Ohio State, college basketball is without any undefeated teams. As of Jan. 14, that's earlier than usual, and on today's podcast host Matt Norlander explains why. Matt brings on NBCSports.com's Rob Dauster to recap a pretty thorough weekend of hoops, including Kentucky's startling home loss to Texas A&M, UCLA's surge -- which the guys remain cautious about -- and why the Big Ten should end up as a toss-up when Michigan and Indiana play on the last day of the regular season. Plus: nostalgia over Big Monday, which begins tonight, Jan. 14, and will be the last true season of Big Monday as we know it.

01/11/13: This is why we love Fran Fraschilla | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:36:57

Should Carolina fans now be concerned this team won't make the tournament? "Yeah, I think so," Fraschilla tells host Matt Norlander on today's podcast. Fraschilla is one of the best color analysts in hoops -- at any level. He's back on to discuss UNC's issues, but also get into a bevy of topics: Ben McLemore, Jeff Withey, Kansas as a whole, some draft talk and how he preps for games. It's a really good podcast for any fan of college hoops who follows the sport with earnest interest. Enjoy it, and enjoy your weekend, everybody.

 01/09/13: We're halfway there | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:41:01

The season's now half done, if you can believe. Yes, already. Today's podcast has the usual triumvirate of Matt Norlander, Jeff Goodman and Gary Parrish. The fellas discuss the season so far and look ahead to the upcoming weeks. Why doesn't college hoops have a player who is the face of the sport this year? Do you know how long it's been since that was the case? Will we get one? Elsewhere, there are four undefeated teams left, and we're thinking the last one standing will be ... Wyoming? Plus, bar fights, fear of the flu and peer pressure on Norlander to start serenading the podcasts with his acoustic guitar and lilting voice.

01/07/13: Gottlieb explains why one rule could ruin college hoops | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:41

I like to refer to Gottlieb's appearances as the Allman Bros. versions of the Eye On podcasts. We burn long. It's a building jam. Today's episode is nearly an hour and it's really, really good. From things we saw over the weekend to the transfer rule that could change college hoops to hot women we see on airplanes. And then UCLA, Syracuse, Ohio State. And the BCS national title game. Stuffed pod. Enjoy!

 01/04/13: That unfair ending in Arizona/Why college hoops isn't a niche sport | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:44:54

One of the best under-40 writers in America today is Will Leitch. The contributing editor for New York Magazine also writes for Sports on Earth. He's the guy who started Deadspin -- wow -- almost eight years ago now. He also happens to be a huge college hoops guy. He's been on the podcast before, and we're bringing him back on to talk about that ridiculous/unfair ending to Colorado-Arizona; the Big Ten's utter domination that lies ahead; why Brandon Paul is the feast-or-famine character in college hoops this year; why college basketball needs to stop being labeled as a niche sport; and some movie chatter, as Will also writes about movies each week for Gawker. You're gonna love his enthusiasm, I guarantee it.

01/02/13: Looking ahead to conference play | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:22

After a banner year of Wednesday podcasts in 2012, the first Norlander/Goodman/Parrish midweek show of 2013 picks up where they left off. If you're a subscriber, you know what that means. If not, get on board now. With league play underway across the country, it's time to assess which conferences are in bad shape -- and unfortunately there are a few of them. More than we'd like to believe. The guys also run down the Player of the Year race as it stands now, and go over how they rang in the new year Monday night. Thankfully, Parrish did not pass out in a ditch nor was he stranded in a random town. In other words: a disappointing victory.
