Garrett and Jon come to you from snowy Tucson and avoid discussing the weather-marred midweek Desert Diamond Cup matches as much as possible. Instead, they chat about the Sounders seeming to reverse course and trade for Shalrie Joseph, D.C. United signing Carlos Ruiz and a few other transactions as teams shore up their rosters before the season. Next, Tom Dart, a freelance writer whose work appears on SI.com and in The Guardian, joins the guys live in Tucson for a wide-ranging chat. It includes a discussion about MLS' growth plan and also touches on how to make the CONCACAF Champions League more relevant. There's also some general preseason chat mixed in. The show closes with a surprise but welcome appearance from FC Tucson PR czar Jose Bosch who tells fans why they should visit Tucson or at least watch the DDC Final on television. West Coast is the best coast today on MLS in 30 with Garrett and Jon welcoming in two of the finest soccer writers west of the Rockies. First, they talk about their favorite Nickelodeon shows and Landon Donovan's impending return (the two aren't related). Geoffrey C. Arnold, the Portland Timbers writer for the Oregonian, comes on the show to talk about Caleb Porter's impact on the team and how the Timbers preseason is progressing. Arnold also discusses his new book, "Cascadia Clash: Sounders versus Timbers" that looks at the rivalry between the two clubs. Next up, Adam Serrano, the LA Galaxy Insider, tells the guys what Donovan's return will mean to the club and looks at how life will be for the first few games without him. The guys wrap up the show with a discussion about Robbie Rogers and whether he'd be a good fit in MLS should he choose to return to the game. All that plus a live, developing "Best ________ of the Week" and more.

We're back from another prolonged absence. Hope you missed us! Still not a ton of stuff happening during the Seattle Sounders offseason, but at least we have preseason games to talk about. Among the topics this week are Christian Tiffert's somewhat mysterious absence, the latest transfer rumors and how the lineup may look for First Kick. We also decided now would be a good time to catch up with friend of the show Ross Fletcher (@RossFletcher1). The Sounders announcer recently got back from England and has managed to see the team up close and personal much more recently than either of us have.
